Differences between Calculated Column and Measures:
Calculated Column: It is a column created in a table based on a DAX formula. It is calculated at the row level and stored in the data model. It can be used for operations like concatenation, arithmetic calculations, etc.
Measures: They are dynamic calculations based on the data in your model. They aggregate data across multiple rows and are not stored in the data model. They are used in visuals for reporting and analysis.
Differences between Calendar and Calendar Table:
Calendar: Refers to the actual calendar (e.g., the dates on which events occur).
Calendar Table: This is a table you create in Power BI that contains a range of dates. It's often used to join to your data tables, enabling time-based analysis and reporting.
Difference between Stacked Bar Chart and 100% Stacked Bar Chart:
Stacked Bar Chart: It displays data in a series of bars, each divided into segments that represent different categories. The total height of the bar represents the total value.
100% Stacked Bar Chart: It also displays data in bars, but each bar represents 100% and is divided into segments that show the percentage contribution of each category to the total.
Best Chart between Stacked Bar and 100% Stacked Bar:
The choice depends on the specific data and the story you want to tell. Stacked bar charts show absolute values, while 100% stacked bar charts emphasize relative proportions.
Differences between ALL, AllExcept, and AllSelected functions:
ALL: Returns all the rows in a table, or all the values in a column, while ignoring any filters applied in the current context.
ALLSELECTED: Returns all the rows in a table, or all the values in a column, but keeps any explicit filters applied by the user in the current context.
ALLEXCEPT: Returns all the rows in a table except for those that you specify, while ignoring other filters applied in the current context.
What-If Parameter and DAX function:
A What-If Parameter is a tool in Power BI that allows users to input a value into a visual, which can then be used as a parameter for calculations. The DAX function used with What-If Parameters is typically SELECTEDVALUE.
Buttons in Power BI and Scenarios:
Power BI has buttons like slicers, filters, drill-through buttons, bookmarks, etc. These are used to interact with visuals and navigate between pages. They are used for creating interactive reports and dashboards.
Fixing Slow or Broken Visuals:
Options include optimizing data model, checking for complex calculations, reducing visuals on a page, using direct query mode, and considering performance improvements at the data source.
Visual Tooltip in Power BI:
It's a feature that allows you to display additional information when hovering over a visual. It can provide context, explanations, or detailed data points related to the visual.
Blank Query in Power BI:
A blank query is an empty query in Power Query Editor. It allows you to create custom tables or perform operations without initially connecting to an external data source. It's useful for creating manual tables or entering data directly.
