  • In this video, I respond to Mike Winger's recent clip entitled "When to be scared you're NOT a genuine Christian." We examine Ephesians 5:5 in context and give an explanation which is consistent with the Gospel. I pray this video provides clarity and dispels any confusion concerning this subject. God bless! -OD

You should drop the word repent because you are using it incorrectly.
When you are born again you should walk according to the Spirit not the flesh. It is a choice to you, a choice that is only afforded to those who are born again.
You don't need to turn, you just simply stop appeasing the flesh or feeding the carnal man and start walking with the spirit, this is not a "repent" issue, this is a behavioral/relationship issue.

What people need to understand is that once you are saved, you are no longer seen as sexually impure, idolator, etc. even if you commit those sins again. The unrighteous (unsaved) are seen as those things because they have not believed and received the righteousness of Jesus. The blood of Christ covers all sin, you have been washed and sanctified by what He has done. Something that is often missed here by believers (especially in comment sections) when talking about who is saved. There is difference between:
    A. Categorically making a JUDGEMENT about somebody's eternal destiny i.e. "He/She is going to Heaven/hell."
    B. Making an OBSERVATION about an individual's behaviour i.e. "What can I notice about that person."
I am appealing to fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to have better wisdom when talking about these things. Nobody will ever reach pure sinlessness in this life, even with the real sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit over time. Never damn somebody to hell. Encourage each other daily as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deception.

Mike never said that in this video nor in any teaching. Mike has not taught that a true believer can lose their salvation. As an outsider that does not truly know another person's heart, Mike is saying if one is still committing sin to the same or worse degree, is that person really saved. That is a legitimate question that James also asks. Mike at the start of the video is clear, just because one stops a sin, in no way does that contribute to salvation. But that a true believer, once they are first saved, since they are a new creation, 'SHOULD' naturally repent, want to move away from sin and do God's work.

I think Mike's position is reasonable. Remember, he said if you're in that "scary, fuzzy zone", the person may not have ever been saved, not that the person possibly WAS saved and might lose their salvation. If you listen carefully to everything Mike said, I have to agree with him. Of course you are never sinless, even after true salvation. But if your life is NOT changed at all after a confession of faith, with no shame or guilt, nor chastisement regarding your sin, then I would worry about the genuineness of that confession. But remember also, we are talking about other people's perception of another's salvation claim. Of course only God is the final true judge of anyone's salvation. It is virtually impossible for us to judge with absolute certainty another person's true position of salvation. It is not possible for any human to completely know another humans heart. We don't even know our OWN heart. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Is there a point at which we really can create a "license to sin" situation? I don't know.

    • @SoDamnMetal
      @SoDamnMetal Před 2 dny

The "license to sin" quip is overly tired. The fact of the matter is you, I, and everyone else are sinners. We were born that way and we die that way. No amount of perceived holiness will change that. Faith in Jesus Christ to wipe away your sin debt is your only holiness. It is finished. Done. Complete. Nothing more. Have a nice day!

I understand that as believers, we preach against sin. People like Mike Winger make the mistake of not learning Romans 7. Believers have the new birth, but we still have the old nature, the old unredeemed part of us. God has made no provision to reform the flesh or improve it. It can not be improved. Why is it not good enough for people like Mike Winger to simply preach against sin to fellow believers because it is God's will for His children to walk in the Spirit? God wants us to overcome sin in our lives to grow us up and reward us at the Bema.
This kind of nonsense keeps believers afraid and it actually stifles growth. God seems to think that grace and love are better motivators than fear for living the Christian life. You will spend all of your time trying to figure out who is saved (or whether you yourself are saved) every time you have a failing in your walk with God. We are not fruit inspectors of other believers.

We cannot lose salvation.
We believe that once we first believed/trusted in Jesus for eternal life, we received the atonement (Jesus' shed Blood for us) on our accounts and are saved/atoned for, sealed unto the day of redemption by the Holy Spirit of Promise (God cannot lie) and that there is chastisement from God and rewards from God for our behavior. Believers have the choice whether or not they follow the Spirit and bear fruit/rewards or not. 2 Corinthians 13:5 "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realise that Christ Jesus is in you, unless, of course, you fail the test?" A good book I recommend is 'the assurance of our salvation' by Dr Martyn Lloyd Jones - it explains everything you need to know.

How ones life "generally apears" is about thier testimony to others. If one wants to take a guess and call them saved or unsaved, you can do that if you want. How many would have guessed wrong about the thief on the cross, who was receiving the death penalty for his life of crime. The bottom line is God sees the heart and man looks at outward appearance.

Mike Wringer just exposed himself as a subtle Lordship Salvationist and is causing baby in faiths to doubt their own salvation. It's wicked. I was reading the comments section of his video the other day and so many are worried they're not saved, it saddens me. Thank you for exposing the unfruitful works of darkness into the light brother. May God bless you 🙏❤️

Good morning! Is there a chance that someone just doesn’t truly really believe and that’s why nothing changes? I say that because I know I truly believe and am saved, and I have given up a lot of things because I love God. Just trying to make sure I understand! Thank you everyone!

    • @OnoDiamante

Of course, it’s possible that many who experience little to no change are not true believers. The same can be said of those who experience a great amount of lifestyle change. Only God and the individual know whether or not they are truly trusting in Christ alone.

That's NOT our job to decide if someone is saved; that belongs to God! You can and should discern whether or not to socialize with them if they are doing things that might be sinful, that is okay

I understand what Mike is trying to say. And yes, saved people shouldn't like the the unsaved world. For my life however, I deceived myself about salvation by thinking I was good with God by works I did such as doing good things and serving in the church, along with doing an altar call back in 2005 when I was in the second grade. Fast forward to 2020 and to today, its still the struggle of how would I know I'm truly Christian if most of the teaching I heard can never really give me assurance of salvation because it says look for evidence and etc, which is something I totally understand and agree with. I have seen the 10 point or X point test to see if you're saved and listened to sermons on real Christianity and saving faith and counterfeit faith. This struggle of trying to figure out if my faith is real or not unfortunately has robbed me of my peace and a lot of this struggle ties back to when I did deceive myself. I have started out in the Lordship crowd cause in the past I saw nothing wrong with it, for I thought that was real saving faith. Yes I was in the faith without works is dead crowd as well but right now, i been researching into what James 2:14 was actually talking about due to different definitions i keep hearing about that verse. I did listen to Lordship teachers as well. I do believe ones life should change after they're saved and if it doesn't then that raises serious question of their conversion. But in my life, I guess I'm trying to ask, am I believing in the sacrifice of the Cross with "heart belief" or "intellectual belief"? What is the evidence of me having "heart belief"? Lately i just been thinking about over and over again about the blood of Christ and the simplicity of the gospel. I don't want to worry about my salvation like this no longer.

3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

@@thevulture5750 there are people that might think they believe that in themselves but have deceived themselves too.And from an outside observer, it is hard to tell too. During the years Judas was following Jesus, do you believe Judas did not show Godly deeds and works? There i no indication until the end about Judas' desception and that he was never a true Christian believer. There are plenty of people out there that are doing 'God's work' that are doing it for own selfish ambitions purely that are not true believers for sure.
