I know Michael Page is a showboat, but the man has my total respect. He rarely hits opponents that's already fallen, he has never been called for not acknowledging a tap out or surrender, he fights an extremely CLEAN fight as you saw in this match, and I'm going to be honest - his showboating - if you're going to do that - is next to none. NOBODY showboats like Michael Page.
he's a lot better and cleaner than what he gets credit for, and let's face it - he showboats because he enjoys his career and is having fun with it. gonna be a cold day in hell when every man on the planet actually enjoys what they are doing.

Page strikes me as a nice guy, almost all his fights ne never takes the opportunity to beat down his opponents. He gives them a chance to get back up.

What I really like about MVP is that when his opponent is down and knows it'll not get up he don't do follow up that makes the fight nasty. Really love this guy.
Bro when you get knocked down it’s because your brain hits your skull causing a concussing blow, but when you let them up and keep on hitting them with concussing blows you completely end their career and give them probably a major concussion

@@ziggyperez7736 Agreed completely. I know Lima was looking to win the fight with the leg kicks. However it looks like he got rather lucky with the timing of it. If it wasn't for that one kick MVP was looking to very much win. I didn't like the extra damage Lima did after the fight was over, landing a second hammer fist after the ref ended the fight. Very bad sportsmanship. You never see MVP beating on unconscious opponents.
I saw 2 fights. When he almost killed Cyborg and when Lima put him to sleep. I literally thought Cyborg was gonna die.

MVP has seen actual adversity in the cage twice. Once with Paul Daley and Once with Douglas Lima. Aside from that, and I don't blame Bellator, they keep MVP insulated from top-level competition because his fight style doesn't materialize against Limas or Rory McDonalds. 👌
No disrespect to Shinso but if MVP can dance around in cage for 15 minutes with his opponent he needs to be fighting better competition. 💯

@@kadenkirklow1190 Someone above mentioned it he's 5 foot 7 to MVP 6 foot 3 and has a 80-inch wingspan, it changes everything about how you set up TD's without taking a right to your jaw flush and it's not as if MVP isn't known for a very fast straight right jab. Also, MVP's knees were putting him off, no matter how you go for one, you know that one might be coming, you've got to be prepared to take one punch or Knee to get the position, but as we saw MVP was landing his flying knees and then pivoting away straight away, so they were no time for him to grab anything. There were so many physical advantages for MVP over Anzai, then we move onto the skill difference which was even larger. Usman's bigger and more powerful than Masvidal, all4 completely different fighters and styles. Ateotd sometimes you just have to say he was the better fighter and move on instead of micro analysing things that might have come off and then again might have got him KO'd quicker.

I didn't watch fights until I saw Page going at it. I was instantly amazed. Has enough energy to give a good show, you never know what crazy dance moves or cartoonish punches he will throw, long reach, 6' 3'', long ass legs, very elastic, unpredictable, like sto rush towards the opponent, the height, great show when they want to fight instead of grappling him. Nice respectful gestures and correct bowing at the end between Page and the other team. Shinzo is one tough fighter but.. 🐍 Michael Venooooooooooom Paaaaaaaage!!! 🐍

MVP's arsenal is impressive. His knees are lazer accurate. I'm facinicated by the the way he piviots back and forth on the balls of he feet to his heels to constantly adjust his balance and move in and out effortlessly. Truly a speical figther.

As far as solid opponents MVP has BEAT... most recently, Cage Warriors world champion Ross Houston, King of Pancrase World Champion Shinsho Anzai, Caveman Rickles (who has the most wins out of any non-champ in Bellator history and was a Bellator tournament winner), Cage Rage World Champ Paul Daley, multiple major organization veteran Santos etc. He hasn't had the toughest schedule in the world but these guys are definitely not cans.

No doubt touching him at all is a challenge. But the calf kick is there when he jumps in with the side stance, even with feints... Lima timed it perfect.

Any oponnent of Page is open to just about anything he's so fast... But Lima showed pretty clearly that a quick, well placed calf kick while covering up when Page jumps in can do damage.
