In this video I'm gonna be teaching you ladies and gentlemen, how to build and start your very own, corrupt, probably legal, mega-corporation in space! We will be touching on the topic of making your own ideal universe to play in, up to earning and building your very first factory. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the video!

Update: the game has received a lot of updates in the making of this video. Despite the changes, the video still holds relevance for the most part. Here are the changes in the latest versions (2.0.45+ at the time of checking) of the game that are in conflict with the video:
1. You can no longer buy Sector Intel from your own stations. Only from other Factions.
2. Other Factions can withhold information from you when buying Intel. Meaning they may or may not tell you where their stations, and other locations are.
3. When building a station, the station no longer defaults facing North. Meaning whatever direction your ship is facing when building, the built station will face that same direction even if you don't rotate the building.
4. Various UI Changes. You may be unfamiliar with the UI in the latest version compared to this video, but rest assured the navigation is the same.

I usually create my own ship designs for either some absurdly expensive warship or some absurdly cheap ship for trade.
I sure do love filling an empty sector with every single building in the game, with 50 medium turrets and 20 patrol fleets.
I used to play Interstellar Pilot many years ago, recently went to play again and hey, look at that, a sequel.
Please continue making content for IP2, not only are you entertaining but the information you provide is a tremendous boon.

Welcome back to the game, man. And yes, the new Magnus model is great, though it needs color to give it depth and to highlight the detailed edges, and I kinda miss the antennas protruding outside the ship of the old model, hoping they would add that in the new model.

My favorite way of playing, is creating a space airline that is actually a front to form a private security company, after awhile i cosplay as Captain Salazar and start hunting pirates/bandits like there's no tommorow. after about 40 days everyone in the solar system views me as a saint
Spam buying passenger transport ships in the beginning is really good for income as well. There's always demand for it and depending on the size of universe you're in, you could have 100 large transport module ships and still not meet all the demand, it makes alot of money very fast and it keeps your income stable unlike traders going up and down.
Which ship would u recommend for early game?
@@kxngbrissett7147 Depends what you wanna do, you can get a solid ship for like 1m. I prefer the split ships, because I enjoy boarding ships alot. They're good for combat usage. The heavy fighter(cobra I think) is great, 5 front guns, and the dragon is an immediate upgrade, although you'll be destroying more than boarding there.

I have a tip for this game when starting out as refinery owner.
It is actually possible to get 2 Hauler-Ms with 2 advanced mining lasers right at the start of the game. However I only recommend doing this if you are in a sector controlled by an empire.
Strip everything off the Haluer-M until it is bare bones, upgrade the engine to 32 and the generator to 35 and the capacitor to 1500, then give it 2 mining lasers (advanced) and there you go. If you don't have shields or anything like that on them it's possible to afford 2 high performance miners right at the start of the game. You're also left with about 26,520 credits which is usually enough to find a sector that has a factory you can trade with. Much easier if it's type H asteroid since they give water and chemicals and everyone needs water in the game. Plus water can be directly sold to bars and outposts. Even better is once you make enough money to build your own Outpost, outposts earn more money from water sales than Bars do for selling the same amount of water, build your outpost and print your own money by cargo transferring the water into it and the people on-board the station will buy the water and a steady rate.
Happy pills give the most bang for your buck since you only need to sell 4 at a time to get 6.1k credits. It makes you crooked for selling them, but who cares when money is involved.
The reason I recommend making your own outpost is because water, unless you have very high affinity with a faction, sells for a lot less credits than Nanochips and Advanced alloys. (Though this is only true if there aren't any other immediate sources of these two products nearby and only you produce them.) You will make about 20k less credits a sale than the chips and alloys so once you have your own outpost just bring it there and transfer water to it until it's cargo bay is full. You'll earn bank

You can also set all the other mining ships to stay in the sector by simply clicking on „Set as defaults“. Then all the other ships with no order will get the same settings.
Can be quite usefull sometimes. I made 400 Hauler-P class ships only for passenger transport in a very large sized universe. Without the „set as defaults“ button i would probably still setting up the ships 😂
There's a mission that is very good to earn quick early money: The destroy ship mission. Take the hardest and most rewarding ship destruction available, go to the target until they start following you and bring them to the base where you got the mission. The turrets and other allied spaceships will do all the job for you and you'll earn a good amount of juicy credits
I just use passengers but that works 👍
I did this so many times that I ended up destroying most of the stations from lambda corp

I started this game when u released the first video. I started as a miner and ended up as the owner of the second most powerful and wealthy superpower of all, im currently working towards becoming the most powerful faction
How do I undock miner. It's greyed out
Plunderer is a good start if you want to befriend bandits while not making it impossible to befriend honorable factions, they'll hate you for sure but none of them can complain after you have all the sector planets secured.
This video format looks very similar with The Spiffing Brit. I'm willing to bet that Spiff inspire you to make videos

I would argue that the best trading ship is the venture class frigate. It’s much faster than the ares, cheaper, and can be used as a passenger ship and a warship. In this game, quantity trumps quality.
Venture can be used as a trader with the Venture-H variant but venture is primarily used as a passenger transporter because of it's large passenger seats of 9. You can use Creon-Class for bigger space of 120 or the Hauler-class ships with 65 cargo space or the -H class of it with 85 cargo space

The ship doesn't dock because an AI pilot takes over the ship. To undock the ship the pilot has to be dismissed. There is a red "X" at the top right screen as a bay area

I love your content as your very funny! Excellent humour my friend personally I prefer to start the game as a fleet commander & become a pirate straight off the bat, within a day I'll have a second MAg equipment ship from some loanly independent trader, they quickly surrender it & I graciously allowed them too live.. how long for it's hard to tail as there's no oxygen in space!
It's like the olden days of walking the plank & swim with the fishes... only there's on chance without oxygen.. but can't help my kindhearted nature! What can I say it gets the better of me sometimes. After this I wait for my new Mag ship too self repair over time, all whilst I busy myself profiteering from an odd trade or two & a few taxi runs I soon have enough money-balls to buy a happy pill factory then I'm cooking on gas!
However, even though I know what the heck I'm doing I still look forward to watching your funny content.. shame we can't play against other human play if add this concept it will probably be the best game on the Internet

Go into a station, any station that's not yours, you'll see a Job Board button there.

Bruh... you have youtubers luck Stole a Magnus ship + spawn in secure sector + no bandits attacking your Haulers. the only difference is I sold my refinery Bought many “not upgraded mining lasers” Haulers which is 5 to 8(cant remember) Kept those two beginner ship Not including the ares Skip time to time until day 14 where I got a decent start. overall Great video! Are missiles bugged in this game? I tried using a rocket spammer Magnus EQ and I needed 270 rockets to destroy 1 outpost.

Another tip: if you start as a refinery owner, you might see another refinery in the sector that you have started. If you have problems like your miner will sell the rocks/ice that it mined to another refinery and not yours do this. Order them:Mine asteroid in the current sector, then order them to dock at your refinery to avoid them not going to another refinery, and then order them to sell all cargo. All of the orders should be set to be requeued so it can be repeated. BUT if you want the other refinery to stop operating, make a new ranger class variant that you remove anything and downgrade it's power gen, capacitor, and the ngine to the lowest level. Buy 20 of them and order them to dock at the other refinery (a refinery can hold a maximum of 20 ships) and their miners should sell their mined rocks/ice to yours instead.
Actually, having another Refinery in the sector is mutually beneficial for both parties, they will have their own miners to sell to your Refinery, and your miners to sell to theirs for a boost in income. Not only that, you'll also build up reputation with them overtime.
Your miners will only sell cargo to them if they are close to the other Refinery after mining, so recalling them back to your own then re-ordering them back to mine will make sure that they stay close enough to your own refinery to drop cargo to it.
Note: Miner AI prioritizes the closest asteroid from their position to mine, and the closest Refinery to sell the ores. Making sure to make them mine close to your Refinery will ensure they will drop off their cargo to yours.
Even with all of this said, if the other refinery is all full with ores, your miners AND their miners will start selling ore to you. So it's a win-win situation.

@@Handlesbar Set up a Trade Route, the command allows your ship/s to only trade between stations that you specify or select. The command is "Manual Trade" in the Orders menu.

I spawned in a Very Secure sector, bandit attacks never happen in Very Secure sectors (at least from experience). In the 5 in-game days that passed, I was never attacked, in fact, I was the one who attacked lmao.
I had a tip for you based on past experiences
If you are going to use an Ares as a trading vessel despite built to be a warship
Keep an eye on its major weakness as the power consumption is far great as it may turn it into a sitting duck if battled against pirates
There is a button that allows you to create custom variants that will make your modified starships fit for the task that is given
An example of my custom variant of mine is a Hauler DM+
A heavily armmed and shielded miner that capable of holding on its own but 8 of them can take down a Magnus battleship
The downside of this variant is its 2x of the cost than a regular Hauler M
@@raejannmelchor2947 yes, thank you for the tips, though I already know them, I have custom ship variants already created. There are still a lot of things I didn't say in this video since it's aimed for beginners. There's a lot more stuff when the focus shifts to building an empire.
I found a exploit that is too op. Can you make a video about it? When i attack a building then instantly enter hypersleep and exit they dont get angry at all meaning i can damage the building without angering that faction/freelancer. Theres also another one which is when i enter hypersleep and exit projectiles/attacks despawns meaning anyone can avoid damage. I can also use hypersleep to manipulate rng and make a ship abandon when fighting another ship with critical hull.
I have my refinery running well but im lossing money and i dont fully understand why...
Go to the Log Menu > Transactions, this is how you monitor your money. Most likely why you're losing money is because your Refinery is buying Ores from other miners, this is normal.

Should I buy an small arms factory and place it on an asteroid sector? Is it even worth it? or do I need my own refinery and all the other stuff? I've already owned a taxicap bussiness and I've had like million and a bit more.
Just be smart on where you place your stations, factories tend to work well on their matching asteroid sector. Ex: Arms Factory needs Adv. Alloys and Nanochips to make weapons, so best to build it near Trade Stations or in Type-B asteroid sectors.

Depends on you, if you have the strength and money, then go for it.
There is hypersleep now, you can earn enough cash to buy new ships in like 20 minutes. Give your ahips orders and afk in hypersleep until youre satisfied.

Go to ship settings to enable 'prefer cloaking', so it would use cloak everytime, if it has one.

Yes, but depending on where you attack them. If you attack them inside a sector owned by a faction, they might ask you to stop fighting, and if you don't, they will declare war on you.

Discover new sectors and stations to trade with, buy information of other sectors from other factions.
Nah bro creon class ships are much better than ares for trading
Creon has 120 cargo space whilst Ares has 110, 10 cargo space is not that much of a difference. Ares is much faster than a Creon and much more maneuverable, has better hull, and better shields.
Just put a cloak and make them trade while cloaking
@@ismollcheeken for this point i agree about Creon is the best freighter, Creon is fast as Ares and far more cheap too, but with larger cargo space that play great with ship Quantity, the cargo space were the second largest after Magnus battleship though
And the best way to get money is from factory and trading. Creon X are the best at the beginning. They have more space and less cheaper than ares. So event when you start as a Suttle you just use the infinite money glitch to get like 1 million credit and after you buy maximum of creon X and ask them to trade with 0 aggresivity. That how I made

Why I'm losing money?
Log menu > Transactions, that's how you monitor your money. Most likely, other factions are selling ores to your Refinery.

There's no fun in that in my opinion, it doesn't feel natural and takes away immersion from the game. But yes, you can also do that if you want.
Starting as refinery owner is kinda a cheat, the building itself worth millions 🤣.
It gives you just enough of a start and at the same time, doesn't give you too much, it's actually very balanced.
But if you want more challenge, you can max out Bandit and Factions Power, and enable Overcharge Bandits. You can also start as a Bandit Faction, I find these settings very fun to play with.
