One of the prettiest small towns in the South, charming Aiken is nestled just a stone's throw from downtown Augusta, Georgia.
Aiken’s iconic live oak trees, signature red clay roads (perfect for horses!) and magnificent Hitchcock Woods are just the tip of the iceberg, not to mention that Aiken is now home to at least 18 exceptional public and private golf courses within about 15 miles of the town center. The Aiken Golf Club, Palmetto Golf Club, The Reserve Club at Woodside and Hollow Creek, Sage Valley Golf Club and don’t forget Augusta National home of The Masters - about a half-hour drive from Aiken.
It offers a haven for the equestrian enthusiast, whether your interests are in three-day eventing, show jumping, foxhunting, steeplechase, dressage or simply recreation and enjoying time with your horses and family. Aiken's amenities include a number of competition and training facilities and regularly host among the best in the world throughout the winter season.
Whether you’re interested in Polo (Aiken Polo Club, New Bridge Polo & Country Club, La Bourgogne Club de Polo, Wagener Polo Club); Racing and Steeplechase (Aiken Steeplechase, the Aiken Training Track, McGhee’s Mile); Fox Hunting (Aiken Hounds & Whiskey Road Fox Hounds); Eventing, Show Jumping or Dressage at the Aiken Horse Park aka Bruce’s Field (or Full Gallop Farm, Jumping Branch Farm, Sporting Days Farm, The Vista Schooling and Event Center, Stable View); or simply pleasure riding and hacking through the Hitchcock Woods - the largest privately-owned urban forest in the country (2,100 acres and 70 miles of sandy trails for pedestrian and equestrians since the early 1800’s) Aiken offers year-round equestrian schooling, training and competition on its own or to prepare you for Ocala or Wellington.

Within driving distance of popular Charleston and Hilton Head to the east, Columbia and Charlotte to the north, Augusta , Athens and Atlanta to the west and Savannah to the south. You will never lack for great food, a beverage, beautiful scenery, shopping and history all around! Our closest airports are Aiken (with access for jets), Columbia, Augusta or Atlanta.

Deirdre great video. Am moving with my family to Aiken….one of the nicest and most unique places I have travelled to in the world. I pray that the leaders of Aiken conserve the history and charm of Aiken through what promises to be years of growth.
