- Today's adventure brings us into the blistering cold weather of Winter Chernarus. If I were to survive in these harsh conditions I'd have to maintain warmth and avoid being seen, both challenges I wouldn't be alone in trying to achieve. I gave myself a goal and that was to become a winter sniper, keeping my distance from other survivors when necessary, and picking them off one by one. We begin on the coast between Elektro and Cherno, and as always, I hope you all enjoy.

I'm always amazed how Sour can spot enemies that good. He's like: "yo over there 5 km away between some trees in a bush there's a guy taking a shit" and I'm like how the fuck can he see that.
It's the kind of eye that you get by playing for a long time. Tbf youtube makes it a bit harder to see shit.

I really love the solo content. I know you don't always find it fun as a large part of dayz is interactions with other players and teaming up to take down other groups or explore maps together, but its nice to see some solo content every once in a while.
I really enjoy the solo runs myself, it allows me to give more of an indepth thought process as to why I'm doing certain things without having to worry about talking to another person!

Yeah, I like them too but I prefer the group ones because they're always so fun because not only are there moments where there's a big group fighting and it's just like all out war and it's so fun but also there's funny moments, and you can't be joking with someone if you're solo.
Those first two guys you fought were a perfect example of what's likely to happen if you go passive, hole up and concede all initiative to the enemy. Well played.

Definitely. Especially as a two man team. But to be fair, when dealing with a sniper and surrounded by woodlands, it can be super tough to judge a situation. Where the shooter may have gone after the initial shots, which direction to push, etc. But dude definitely shouldn't have just stayed in the shack lol that was a rookie mistake.
Sour kind of has the upper hand here BECAUSE he pushed first and got the jump on them. But going up against Sour is gonna end badly regardless, he's got the skills haha

Lol no he got really lucky downing the first one with suss shot, admittedly the other two panicked while they should have been on the offensive. This should have been over the moment he shot at them first time in military and then chose to cross the water AND the open road without getting spotted, very lucky indeed

His idea was that scopes expose the sniper way too fast

I have just found this game and I was watching videos about it, but your channel is really different than others. You add background music to your videos, those calm or sometimes instrumental classics that make the atmosphere of the game even more real. Really liked it

Awesome storytelling and content. Reminds me of the days when JamJar and MrBlack0ut81 were around. It has the same attention-drawing atmosphere. Very satisfying. I haven't played DayZ in like 6 years but I made it to 27 minutes of the video without even realizing it. +1 from me.
This video has just appeared on my recommendations and I can't describe how happy I am from finishing this.
I felt like watching a quality short film where a survivor like others just needs to do everything to hold in the cruel world. The amount of patience and thought process was indeed the real flavour that delivered a story. Situational music with narrator comments delivered the film. The ultimate heartbreaking ending was the real fact, that everyone might be the reason for the continuity of someone elses story and their story just ends.
Sour, I think your editing is beyond kino. The content is gripping and keeps the audience hooked throughout. The music score adds a whole other aspect of emotional immersion. Top notch. Cheers 👍🏻

Although I do not play DayZ I really enjoy these videos so much. The music choice is so great. It's so immersive to watch this content like an Episode of TLOU. And I really think that these "no-base" Servers are how this game should be played. Wish one day we really get a proper Survival MMO that combines Project Zomboid (Zombie Hordes/Mods), DayZ/SCUM (Immersion/PvP) and Conan Exiles (PvE) on a Starfield scale.
Sour sweet your literally the only reason I watch dayz content! You make it like a movie of sort the commentary is so passionately well put and the edits phenomenal work bro! I never ever played Dayz but now it's in my life bucket list!

Love the musical selections you are making. Really fits the mood, and classical isn't where most streamers would go in this day and age.
It just fits as DayZ background music really well. Most streamers play fast paced games so it's no surprise their go-to stream music is dubstep, techno, pop etc.

The ending got me excited for a series, but I know you usually write "Episode" if that is the case. I found your channel recently, and your videos are honestly amazing. They were the entire reason I purchased the game. I have tried to play a bit but it seem really hard to first get into while being solo since none of my friends play. I'm sure there are already plenty out there but would you consider making new player guides/starter content? Your game knowledge is like no other.
Watch videos on how to play on community maps. It makes the experience way better. Definitely a learning curve but fun
Never played DayZ. Just a bit of Tarkov and quit because I'm just casual. This is about as close as I can get to thorough enjoyment of the game and I'm here for it. I'd realistically never get to experience a game this way
I'm ASTOUNDED at how quickly our boy sees other players out in the distance (even w what I assume are large monitors at ideal graphics settings). I can train my aim, but spotting people this easily must take so much more practice.
it is a lot of practice to spot players that's for sure, a lot of it comes down to knowing exactly what type of terrain and foliage is in each area. I've played so much I know exactly when someone is in a specific bush cause I can spot the difference compared to other times I've been in that place lol.

Hey sour have you ever thought about making your own server? One that would be more to your interests and make it so you could create even better videos?
I would rather focus on just making the content I do than own a server, it takes a lot of time to do and there are already many servers out there that do what I’m looking for really well!

Let’s take that first gunfight you had with the 2 guys. Where you shot him through the wall of the shed. Don’t you think that gunfight would have been more exciting, thrilling and meaningful feeling if the gunplay wasn’t so point and click? Which would have lead to a more drawn out almost “realistic” feeling gunfight. Which would have made a better video. Cause having a server with legacygunplay would change it to that, HOWEVER there is no server running that mod. So knowing this are you sure there are servers out there with “what you’re looking for?” That are tailored to your needs? Cause I don’t think so. and I think by making a server more tailored to your what I would assume desire to create “story centered” videos and not just pvp videos would not only create better videos but make your experience playing the game more meaningful and enjoyable aswell.
And if it does seem daunting then just look at mindr, Barmby, smoke and others who do this. How do they do it? Because people help them. And I’m sure there would be people out there. Including myself that would be willing to want to help craft that experience so you wouldn’t just be doing it “all by yourself”.

I watched Mr. Moon and FrankieOnPC1080p do DayZ stories back then and your cadence and storytelling ability thus far?
Not only did it bring me joy to see people still making content for this old game (Especially good content) but a lot fond memories too.
