  • This video features the 2 treasures right on Lake Ontario at Port Dalhousie. Right next to the lake, this gorgeous, rare Kremer carousel still gives rides for a nickel. The carousel's band organ is equally stunning being one of just a few large Frati organs known to exist. Unfortunately, they turn off the organ whenever the ride isn't in motion -- and don't wait for the tune to finish either!

Sometimes I cannot stop thinking about the organ's sound. It sure sounds like a proper organ, nearly like a church organ but with much smaller pipes! If I owned that carousel I would have the organ playing constantly like Hershey's.

I agree that it is quite annoying that they shut the organ off between rides. It is an amazing instrument and carousel! I live relatively close to the carousel and I go there often.

Really nice sounding organ playing my favorite roll to boot!

The Perkasie carousel plays their organ during the ride and while unloading/loading. They only turn the music off when making ride end/start announcements.

This carousel's organized very neatly! I love the style of the animals and the sweeps/rounding boards/mirrors. The band organ is magnificent.

Knoebel's memories from this summer. Love the Wurlitzer 165 arrangements. I wish Knoebel's would play 165 rolls on their Frati organ.

This actually plays 150 rolls, not 165 rolls. The arrangements of these on both scales are similar though - just less chromatic on 150!

I believe it plays 46 note Artizan rolls and is a 70-80+ key organ.

Did this play books of music originally, or was it always rolls.
