What I find really interesting about this hoods is that there is A LOT of decent cars everywhere, even some fancy ones, but the houses and the whole streets looks like a post apocalyptic mess. But still a huge difference from the hoods here on Brazil, where people just have motorcycles or just very old cars.

Detroit wasn't designed to be in poverty the economy left the city and its people, that's why some houses still look nice on one street with a nice car because there's an older person that keeps up with their car and home after retiring from the auto industry. But the next block is in shambles. 3. Here on the radio they're always selling cars with bull shit terms making them seem affordable knowing people don't understand credit and the dealership gets that car back within 1-3 months. If the only good job you could get you had to drive to and someone tells you that you can get a decent car I bet you would get it too if you didn't understand credit. 4. Very true. As a matter of fact the reason these neighborhoods decayed and are in the state they’re in is because America destroyed its own middle class. These were once nice stable middle class homes where even the less well to do could depend on a neighbor or at least the government for help to stay afloat and maintain some semblance of dignity but after all the industry left and all the whites and people with money left for the suburbs these homes and infrastructures were abandoned and only the very poor would move in. Generations later, the gap between the rich and poor still grows and the mid lads is still dwindling

I live only a few miles from the hood. It's not as bad as they say but far worse than I would like to believe. I've always wanted to take one of those houses and bring it back to its former glory and move in. Then continue to develop the rest of the neighborhood. The changes to the hood are starting to happen but it's slow. You first have to change the hearts of the men and women the rest follows naturally. Church is a good start it strengthens the family then education helps with financial support. I really love this community.

Honestly this is one of the better hoods I have seen after Houston compared to the others like warzones. They are lower income but not miserable poor like most of the country and have good vehicles too. Good to see this
