As an Arsenal Fan, how I see the Casemiro challenge is as red. Purely because, he jumps into the challenge with both feet of the ground, meaning he is out of control and ends up catching his shin. However I also believe the Chelsea game was worse and fully deserved a red. Your correct, it’s the inconsistency that’s the problem.

I agree with what you said. Its only brought into question bc some don't get called. There is a massive difference between the shown examples and what Casemiro did however. He did a LUNGING tackle, leaving the ground with both feet, getting the top of the ball(Goldbridge was generous with his positioning of the contact, Casemiro was actually MUCH higher on the ball. Essentially skimming it) and full forcing the studs into the leg of someone basically running in his direction. So its opposing forces meeting making it even worse. If he does a reach poke with studs(like in the examples shown), that'd maybe be a yellow at worst, but the lunge and how high his foot was on contact, just looked sloppy and deserving of the red card.
I will say this though, they REALLY need to get away with showing SLO-MO REPLAYS!! Everything should be shown in real time with the benefit of VAR being more about seeing it either for the first time bc you missed it when it happened, or again with multiple camera angles provided. I think slowing it down does nothing for the actual assessment of the invent other than exaggerating the actual event. We also need to get away from saying "he won the ball first". When something like this happens, getting the ball is almost irrelevant. Say, if someone goes in and makes contact clearly with the ball first and then raises their leg, so studs make contact with someone's thigh. You're going to see a card.

I ain't an Man Utd fan but Casemiro's sending off was the correct decision. There has to be zero tolerance with these challenges/tackles because they could be potentially career ending and life affecting for the players on the receiving end of them. It's just the most dangerous tackle there is. I do understand that it looks like Casemiro bends his leg and doesnt seem to put alot of force into his tackle. But, there has to be zero tolerance because if you start taking it case by case where do you draw the line? ZERO TOLERANCE. Players just need to keep their feet/studs down!

The red card for Casemiro, in my opinion, was definitely right. The inconsistency argument is a red herring. You can't justify a bad challenge by saying other bad challenges weren't punished. The David DeGea interview was far more illuminating than the Ten Hag one. DeGea said Casemiro was a bit unlucky but it could have been worth a red card. When your team mate says something like that it is like an opponent asking for a ten match ban. Ten Hag also tried to make some sort of argument that Casemiro had never been sent off before coming to England so it was clearly down to the officials. If someone is convicted of murder when they are 30 it isn't a defence to say he never committed murder for 30 years so the legal profession must be at fault. It also may just mean he never got caught before.

Lots of people bantering and happy about the Man Utd ish i think is because when we kept getting all the bad decisions, rival fans kept doing same thing to arsenal fans instead of calling out the bad refereeing. We need to get to a point where aside the banter/bantering of each other get to hold and call out the officials and the officiating body

I do think it was a red. He jump tackled the ball (took a risk and it didn’t pay off). So that’s why you call it unlucky (based on the fact that if it was a clear jumping tackle then it would be fine). You can 100% complain about inconsistency but that doesn’t make Man Utd red invalid

I can understand the argument by Terry comparing non-red card fouls vs Casemiro's foul. It's frustrating to see one team get away with a yellow another with a red and Leicester getting away with nothing. There's no real argument to downplay the VVD and Ricardo fouls, but when Casemiro connects with the defender 30cm off the ground which his leg angled up, there is literally no single argument which detracts from the foul being a red! If he had bodily control, he wouldn't catch the player halfway up his shin, if he'd contained the ball and actually "won" it, it wouldn't bounce off the standing leg of the player. It's so glaringly foul play, it's crazy that's even a discussion! That said I do believe VVD should have seen red and Ricardo at least a yellow purely because the angle of the foul wasn't going to risk cause in the same level of injury as the other two. I've seen Xhaka sent off for far less though 😮

Casamiro was a SENDING OFF every day of the week. He left his feet, studs showing, over the ball (yes, his foot bounced over the ball, but accidents get punished all the time). I would like ANYONE to tell me how the combo of those three does not warrant a direct red.

Then they started to think we could do it and we had some bad results. The doubts came again and we are cruising. Please retain the credit until we lift the trophy. End of

. The combination of the follow through with studs up above the ankle, and both feet left the ground
. If xhaka did it, it would be a red too but let’s be honest, the refs are SHOCKING in this league
the only consistency in this league is the inconsistency

The united fan freaking out asking how is that a red card has deliberately chosen a frame that does not depict the incident. He is surely lying to everyone. the follow through was very high and was studs to shin. It was a red card. The idea that the player wasn't that hurt is irrelevant. Terry you need to call this out as well.

The thing is with arsenal is when they are at a level that when teams like brighton fulham or brentford try to play for a win they get smashed (ik arsenal drew against brentford but that was during a bad run of form aka an anomaly) this is because they are good enough to try and play them but they are nowhere near the level arsenal are but when teams just try a deep block it changes so personally I think arsenal are better than city and if they had trossard in the false 9 role against city even though partey was out i think its a completely different game
