Congratulations lovely (: I'm so happy to hear you had a healthy & wonderful university experience xxx
Thank you so much :)
Greetings from a Spanish guy who is fond of English literature. Now after I have read all these great and fantastic plays translated, 20 years later I am able to read in original English, without having studied these sort of thing at Uni. Fantastic! The first book which i have read: Saturday by McEwans. By the way you channnel is great and very inspirational to delight English literature. Enjoy your summertime a lot!
So glad to hear you're going to be making more videos again and that you're in a very happy place at the moment! I'm going to be studying English in September at either Exeter or Kent University and had a few random questions- 1) what were your first few seminars / lectures like? I.e. Did you all introduce yourselves and speak about why you're studying English or anything like that? And what did the academics expect of you in the first few weeks? (I'm just super nervous!)
2) of course there are reading lists for each uni but are there any texts you'd definitely recommend reading over the summer?
3) do you have a clearer idea of what career you'd like to pursue and did you find academics helpful in that respect?
Thanks! :) Best wishes,
Amy
First of all, congratulations! I'm Miguel and I'm from Lisbon, Portugal. I'm also finishing my degree (in performing arts) and I am currently working on my internship report (and it's public presentation afterwards). I've been enjoying watching this type of videos, about young people talking about the future and trying to find an answer to the question "what to do next?" I really liked what you said in the video about this matter, and I'd love to hear more, maybe it could inspire me :)
If you were having a dinner party who would you invite (living or dead)? A literary figure; a political figure; a religious figure; an historical figure and an actor/actress? xx
I am so super excited to hear more about your dissertation and all the Virginia Woolf related stuff you have to share! :D
From what I can see of your room, it's beautiful. The colours are lovely! And your hair is perfect!
Aw thank you!
Congratulations! I would love to hear more about your dissertation - it sounds like the most interesting topic! :)
Did you ever feel lost or undecided on what to get your degree in, or did you already know what you wanted to do? Congratulations on graduating and glad you are back!
Congratulations on finishing this part of your education! I wish you the very best of luck in whatever direction you now chose. You have started a fascination for me with Virginia Woolf and I really look forward to seeing more in this topic and your beautiful snapshot videos :)
I can't wait for your upcoming videos! xx
A new video is up on my channel & there are more coming soon! :)
Lots of congrats!!!
It's very encouraging and inspiring to hear about someones good uni experience :)
Have you ever consider starting your own book club? Where you'll pick up a book and we'll read and discuss it during lifestream whatsoever?
Wow congratulations for your accomplishment!!! Way to go girl .. I hope you enjoy your life journey
Thank you!
Congratulations on graduating university! I am so happy that you achieved what you had your sights after and am so happy that you are back on Booktube! You were the very first channel I came across as I made my way down the Booktube rabbit hole! The fact that your senior paper was on Virginia Woolf is quite amazing, for she is such a brilliant and insightful writer! My question for you would be this: If you could put together and teach any university course, what would it be? -Josh
Oh wow. I love your new hair, it looks great!
Thank you - I'm slowly growing it out :)
Did you hear they just announced a movie about Virginia and Vita is being made? I'm currently reading Vita's letters to Virginia and loving it.
Love is more important than anything else :)
Congratulations!
Congratulations on finishing your undergraduate degree, so fantastic! You look so happy!
What are your favourite book to movie& series adaptions?
What are your top 3 favourite books?
Have you read War & Peace? (If you have - did you enjoy it?)
Absolutely love your Channel! Lots of love from Denmark xx
Congratulations on graduating from university! That is a big accomplishment and I hope that you enjoy the ride of not knowing for certain what is next (which everyone experience it) and let life surprise you :) so glad to hear that you have plans to continue with the channel! And I would like to know which one is you favorite movie or mini series adaptation and why? And in a very different subject I would also like to know what do you think about the UK voted to leave the European Union? which ever question you feel like answering... Thank you!
You look stunning!
congratulation on graduating! I am so glad that you enjoyed your time at university as I hope everything works out the way you want it to for the future! I would like to know what was some of your favourite piece of work that you completed and why those ones in particular?
I'm from Brazil and I began to see your channel today
Felicitations on finishing your studies!!! You've got the world in front of you now. I have 2 questions: Where would you like to travel next and why? Would you consider becoming a literary professor?
you are very pretty
Congratulations on finishing university and your dissertation!
Thank you!
Congrats beaut! Good luck for the future! I'm sure you'll do brilliantly! Couple questions; how did you read and take notes for your required reading at university? Any tips? And how did you research for your dissertation? I'm going into my third year of university and doing a creative writing dissertation. But unsure on where to start? Thinking of looking into the beat movement and confessional poets/writers such as Sylvia Plath and Anais Nin. Any advice would be great! Also what are your top 5 favourite classics you would recommend? Love your videos and super excited to see more of your content. x
P.S - I'm looking at Mrs Dalloway for my module in Narratives, Identities, and Place. Any information that could be helpful?
I'm really happy you decided to continue making videos! :)
Congratulations on the lovely experience and your degree!
I have a question: what was the most difficult thing to deal with in university? and did you learn something from it that you'd like to share?
Questions!:
What are your tips and what to expect when studying english literature? What is the most unexpectedly difficult thing and unexpectedly easy thing that you found on your degree? What are your biggest tips for someone who wants to do well at university? Did you keep on top of your reading (if so, tips?!)
Thank you and I'm so pleased for you! I've been a huge fan of your channel for a long, long time
Can't wait for more videos! Do you think having such an insight to literary techniques and becoming so analytical of texts hinders your reading experience outside of academia? In other words lack of knowledge = greater more freeing reading experience.
Congratulations! :D
Thank you!
Congratulations on your degree! I also studied English lit and understand the hard work involved as well as the joy of being immersed in wonderful books. I would like to know which is your favorite Woolf novel ( mine is To the Lighthouse). And being that it's Shakespeare's 400th anniversary, any favorite plays/film adaptations?
How did you get used to reading about 3 books a week?
And when studying a book, did you just discuss the book as well as just researching, or was there more to it when you were doing your degree?
Woohoo congratulations and well done. Sounds like you had an amazing experiencing. My question is, was there anything else you ever thought of doing besides going to uni?
Wow, just found out about you! Congrats on graduating! You are so sweet and passionate. I hope everything is going well for you. It would be nice to see you update soon as I'm really interested in what you have to say!
Thank you! New videos are coming soon - just very busy at the moment. I update my Instagram & twitter (@ReadingBukowski) a bit more regularly.
ReadingBukowski Thank you for the reply. I should get back on Instagram soon then, haha. Good luck with your studies! Wish the best :)
Would love to know what's ur plan next. It can be just a very broad direction.
I am a lit degree holder as well and am planning to do a linguistic masters next. Not sure if thats a good idea though!
I'm not too sure how to phrase this but I would love for you to talk about the social aspect of university, and also the lack of social interaction when moving away from friends. I'm terrible at spending time on my own and you look like the kind of person who can enjoy alone time... how? hahaha Terribly worded, hopefully you'll understand.
And congratulations on your degree!
Congratulations for your degree! You're so passionate about literature that I'm wondering if you're considering to pursue a teaching carreer, maybe at the university where you have the chance to do a lot of research also. Passionate teachers are the best. But whatever dreams you have I wish you all the best. :)
Congratulations!!
What do you wish you had known before you started with regards to doing a literature degree and also how do we get through books we may not be interested in? Thanks
Where else did you apply for Uni? Which year, in terms of reading lists, was your favourite? :) xx
Congratulations in graduating! My question is: Which other universities did you apply to and what made you choose York St John over them?
How did you cope with stress at university? What did you do when you were doing something particularly hard and felt you were struggling? I know the obvious answer is ask for help but I'm worried that at university it'll just all be too hard for me. Love your videos xx
Congratulations on finishing your undergraduate degree! I'm going to be studying English Literature at university in September, so I was wondering how easy you found it settling in and making new friends. Did you go out on nights out and if so, did this help you to make friends and settle in?
A question I have is how did you deal with study setbacks at uni (ie: getting a poor grade etc.)? Congratulations on finishing Claire! x
Lovely! Here are my questions: Are there any courses that you did not take that you wish that you had? Were there any courses that you did take that you wish you hadn't?
I graduated with a BA in literature this year. Who is your favourite writer?
I have like a bucket full of questions to ask you but I am gonna choose the most important ones. So, how much are the yearly living expenses in York? Do you have any tips for thoroughly analysing a book?
Hey! So I literally just stumbled upon your CZcams channel! I just have two quick questions, did you take other courses along with researching and writing your dissertation? There's a potential opportunity here at my university, to potentially do my own research. I get nervous when writing research papers or essays, and I was wondering, how did you muster up the courageous to write one?
nice!! ❤ 👋
what shall i do to master english literature ?
Question(s): do you plan to continue studying? do a master's degree or even doctorate? what is your ultimate goal? :)
Would you ever consider living abroad at some point and if so, where?
Do u speak a brummie accent?
Congrats on finishing ur degree btw! Yes its scary but u will be so proud of urself after all.
And i love ur hair as well. It looks so cute on u x
What a nice top! Congrats on finishing uni undergraduate studies, a huge achievement :)
Thank you!
