  • Erlebnispark Tripsdrill is the oldest amusement park in Germany. This beautiful park has always been known for their gardens and greenery, but the park has really expanded their roller coaster and thrill ride offerings over the past decades. Now the park sports well-known coasters such as Hals-uber-Kopf, Karacho, and several other quirky rides.

    I love this Park, you really feel how everything is made with love (as their slogan says). I will definitely come back a lot of times in the next few years.

    The park also offers to upgrade your one day pass to a two day pass for only 10€ which is even cheaper than the entrance fee of the Wildpark. The two day pass also has some flexibility since you have one week to use it. I suggest buying your tickets online so you can enter the park faster. I don't think that it gives a discount but its definetly more convenient.

    Great review of my home park. I know this charming place since my earliest childhood (Rasender Tausendfüßler is the first roller coaster I've ever been on) and the development since then is amazing - now it has two standout coasters (and so much more) to offer. You can never go wrong with a visit at this quirky but sympathetic amusement park :)

    Tripsdrill was the first theme park I ever visited and it only got better since then. It's a place that is also great to visit with people that are not too much into amusement rides (like your grand parents), because a large part of the experience is also just the nice landscaping and quirky theming, including little museums and a lot of humor. And by the way - you also get a free souvenir glass in their wine museum.

    Fun thing: If you're there on a not so busy day, their old Rasender Tausendfüßler can become a funny experience. Yes, that old thing is tame and quite boring, but if there are few people, they just let you remain seated. 8 rounds in a row isn't that rare on such days 😂

    If I could only visit a limited number of German parks, this one would come in 3rd with Phantasialand and Europa-Park in front of it and Heide Park right behind it. Their worst coasters still look to be mild but enjoyable rides (as opposed to headbanging nightmares or anything particularly rough) and the rest of the rides are really charming. Hopefully I can get back to southwest Germany again sooner than later and check this place out.
    Also, the Vekoma combo pack of STC and family boomerang looks like something lots of medium-sized parks should be considering - I know Tayto Park in Ireland is getting those two together but hopefully some US parks will take inspiration from them and Tripsdrill and consider adding those two coasters.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Před 2 lety +1

      The interaction of the two rides is cool and it makes sense for Vekoma to package them.

      @@CanobieCoaster not to mention their layouts overlapping means they can fit 2 coasters with decent capacity in a smallish footprint; it seems like a great way for a park to bring in new guests as well as spread out existing guests across the rides. If Mammut was getting hour-long waits on your trip then I can only imagine what the line would have been like without two other coasters to occupy guests.

    I really like Tripsdrill, it does have a really quaint and traditional atmosphere. The one downside for me was the amount of wasps near any of the food areas. When I sat down to eat they wouldn't leave me or my food and drink alone. Got all up in my grill...!

      @@CanobieCoaster are you sure they were Bees... Bees are friendly and bumbly in the UK... just chillin' in the flowers. Wasps on the other hand are totally pointless, seem to love trash, and just exist to be a nuisance. Maybe German Bees are more aggressive but I dont know. lol

    What a nice park with several good attractions. The world's first Vekoma STC, an amazing Gerstlauer and more. Also off topic question, what are your opinions on them now demolishing Canobie Corkscrew?

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Před 2 lety +1

      I think it's encouraging that they're removing it if it will never operate again since it likely means they want that plot free for a new addition. I'm 99% sure a water park expansion is coming based on need and location.

    When you visited Tripsdrill in 2021, did you drive or take public transportation? I know I keep commenting about travel plans these days but I am potentially considering a trip to Germany to visit Europa Park in early Summer next year so I am curious if Tripsdrill is as accessible for public transportation users (especially since the nearest city is Stuttgart).
