- This video is a short documentary titled "A Foreign Kiss in Times Square." It follows real people who have traveled to New York City to watch the ball drop in Times Square. Featuring Koren, Norman, Scott, Kristin and many others.
Its almost midnight on New Years Eve and revelers from all over the world fill Times Square, New York, the biggest party on earth. Millions more watch the great, colorful ball drop on television in the comfort of their own homes while the majority of native New Yorkers avoid the festivities all together and travel instead to local clubs or out of town family events. This documentary follows three young adults who travel to New York for their first time to attend the party. Kristin, a mathematics major living in Berkeley, California, brings her shy boyfriend. Norm, an Air Force instructor from Georgia, meets his friend Scott, a programmer from Florida, desperately hoping to meet a few hot girls. As the three of them spend twelve hours in below freezing temperatures, unable to reach the bathrooms and waiting for the ball to drop, they meet many friendly and some estranged revelers from around the world. Although many can turn their televisions on every year to witness the events, this documentary shows the reality of the party from the street, rather than from the fancy party rooms high above. Filmed by three revelers intrigued with their own experience from the year before, the documentary asks the question "is the travel and expense worth the experience?" Norm and Scott begin to think it is as they meet some cute girls from England. For these revelers, their first time in Times Square is filled with anticipation, excitement, disappointment, and the question; "will I get a midnight kiss?"

Thanks for sharing this! Always wondered what it was like to be there in Times Square in person. Very nostalgic too. Great to look back on!

DECEMBER 31, 2014 THE 110TH CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION TO RING IN 2015
In 2003, My Life as a Teenage Robot was released.
By 2004, it was forgotten :-(
What about teen titans and duck dogers and also spy kids 3d those were the best of 2003
I went to the city hoping to at least see something! All I saw was crazy people screaming, pushing, and blowing the horns in my ear!
That year, the countdown screen shut off at 40.
Did it? I don’t remember that. Everybody seemed to be counting along.
@@MH-ox1jp Wow, how the heck did you get that? Is that the actual video they used or did you recreate it?
Yeah this video has turned me against ever wanting to go to Times Square for New Years Eve.
could you upload the live event for 2004-05 ball drop
Sorry. We attended a different New Year's Eve celebration the following year and did not film a documentary.
@@KorenYoung Brian Lange has the live event for 2004-05 ball drop.

My ball hadn't drop I still can roll it a little and balance it still ! It is still OK to relax and take a drink and have a sandwhich at a table or stool !
Think Nathan (a fellow Scot) has had a 'follow-through' at 07:56 - either that or he's got a tattoo in the crack of his arse !!

P.D., Involved in this! They're all at home or at in their Burroughs celebrating, and watching the tourists , standing there for hours pissing on themselves, and laughing at them!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is this 13 years old
this is 2003
Where did you get the raw webcast footage from?
One of this film’s producers was working for a major TV network and had access to the raw video.
@@KorenYoung Oh. Was it on Earthcam?
@@meh5552I don’t know. I’m not familiar with that term.
@@KorenYoung Well, is the raw footage archived and able to be viewed?
@@meh5552 unfortunately, no. The raw footage is long gone. This documentary was edited and completed over 20 years ago.
lol i think you have wrong date if this was 2013 everyone there would be taking pictures with phones no disposal cameras
1h to go
Dont want to be cold so i must on toilet not go on toilet on 9 hours
Discover Countdown powered off at 40
At 11:23 you can see the date under the flag reads 2003
And when it got to 40, do you know why the countdown shut off?
That's a good question. Hadn't noticed that before. They start the confetti and fireworks early. But the year doesn't light up until they count to zero.
14:06 outro
Some terrorists are gonna lay some mortar fire in that area some year.
2012 ball drop (it’s pretend)
Too bad this is 2003 lmfao.
I've celebrated NYE in Times Square four times. The experience is very similar each year.
