- For this video I'm going to be taking you around my latest Filmarena Bluray Collector's Edition of Dredd. I have been trying to hunt this down for years and great to finally have it in my collection.

You recommended this film to me Keith, last year and I really enjoyed it. This is a slick looking edition. And you're right, it was really violent. I love the lenticular cover as well.

Like I said in the video John is the go-to way to watch this movie. The 4K looks amazing but the 3D is so much more immersive. Great to get such a beautiful release. Thank you as always my friend for stopping by

@millerman9991 ditto. Judge Dredd gets slammed, and I don't really see why, and Dredd is a brilliant movie. I re-watched Dead Snow today, and watched Dead Snow 2 today too for the first time.
I have never actually seen Dead Snow but I am very well aware of it. I really need to get around to checking it out. Didn't realise there was a sequel either
@@millerman9991....the first is better overall in my opinion. The 2nd is like Briandead and Shaun of the Dead had a baby. Entertaining, and both films have plenty of gory kills!
Nice1 Keith 🙂👍I like the lenticulars and the steelbook ! Great movie ! I really hope I'm able to watch this in 3D one day, sadly my TV (like most) just isn't capable.
Thankfully I still have a TV in the house that is 3D capable. I'm just waiting for the day for it to pack in. The good news is at least we have the option to buy a projector with 3D capabilities. You will not believe how good this movie looks on 3D.

Another wonderful collector's edition to add to your amazing collection Keith. It is truly elegant and it looks great . Strangely enough I still haven't seen n either version of Dredd ,.but seeing this edition I would like to see both, but I am sure I would enjoy more the one you are sharing and showing in this video, as I am a woman of my time and I love and appreciate the craft of modern movies. I honestly cannot recommend both movies enough if I'm completely honest. I think the reason to why I prefer the Stallone version is because I have that emotional attachment to it. Everytime I watch it I feel so nostalgic. Taking nothing away from this movie which is absolutely phenomenal and definitely the most faithful of the two. If you have the means to please do check it out. I won't say I was pleasantly surprised but I didn't realize it was going to be as good as it was. Really hope one day we get a premium release for Judge Dredd '95. No attachments to the comics, it was always juat a sick action scifi movie when i was younger. Alan Silvestri's score is top tier too 👌. That being said, this is a nice release and definitely a movie I'd look into upgrading myself!
I would do anything to see a deluxe edition for Judge Dredd . To be honest I don't even own the movie on Blu-ray which is ridiculous when you think about how much I love the movie. Hopefully someday very soon we will at least get a 4K release for it and see where it goes from there. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and check out this fantastic release
Man a 4k of Judge Dredd is on my wish list. I do have it on bluray and it looks great, you should definitely get it, who knows if a 4k version ever comes out.
@guarantweed yeah I definitely want to pick up the Blu-ray. It's very hard to get hold of one funny enough. Hopefully I can find one
Evening Keith, excellent vid as always, beautiful edition of a brilliant film,i got the Lionsgate Steelbook edition from the US,It's stunning too,the Atmos is demo worthy 😀 (Also have the 3d bluray)
I was actually on the verge of buying the steelbook that you have Marty and the only reason to why I didn't is because I actually got this release. Film Arena do bring out some seriously nice sets, i have to admit. And Dredd is a brilliant film, though I do love Stallone's Judge Dredd a little bit more. Great stuff, mate

Killer set for an excellent movie! There is nostalgia for the Stallone one, but I did grow up with the 2000 AD comics with Judge Dredd & Karl Urban nails it as does the violence (much more in the comics lol) It’s a real shame they didn’t green light a sequel, so many excellent characters and stories to explore, could have made a great TV series with a decent budget, 🤷♂️ considering the expensive shite out there! Congrats on another filmarena find my friend 👌👌
Hey David. I could be wrong when I say this to you but I'm almost certain I read up that a TV series is coming and apparently Karl Urban is very interested in revisiting the character. Now I read this around a year ago and I don't know how true that is. You probably know more about it than I do. I think that's probably why I prefer the Stallone version because I do have that nostalgic connection to it. Take nothing away from this movie though which is absolutely exceptional and I still cannot believe I have a release like this for it. @cheekster777 such a shame to hear that you don't have the capabilities of 3D anymore cheekster. Thankfully I have a TV in the house and I try not to use it too often in that fear of it breaking on me. But I do love checking out this movie on 3D every now and again

Got the usa 4k steelbook too, the atmos is one , if not the best I've heard .

I had a panasonic vt65 plasma back in the day, 3d was amazing but battery operated glasses were always doomed imo.

In other news , amazon packed all my 3 items ( 2 x dune and American sniper) together and its only been held by fn customs ! So that's me not getting them any time soon. Fk this brexit shite 😔
@iansteventon4221 that customs is an absolute pain in the ass. I actually had two beautiful releases of Halloween 2 and 3 sent to me by a friend from Australia and both of them got rejected by customs and went back. Absolute nightmare
Hey Keith. That Dredd edition makes my fingers twitch.. Anyway,quick update on my Heli heist plan - It turns out helicopter lessons are expensive,so I figured that I watched Airwolf all the time as a kid,how hard could it be? So after blowing my new house up by the helicopter I stole crashing into it,I now have 99% burns on my body. Unfortunately that’ll halt my plans to get the pod,so you have your collection safe and sound - FOR NOW! You’ll also get a fright when I get there,I look a bit like Freddy Krueger now! One,two,Freddy’s coming for you..
This comment is absolutely epic. But I just thought of a great idea. Well seeming now you look like Freddy Krueger perhaps when you try and break into my pod I can have you as a permanent fixture in my Freddy Krueger collection. To be honest I seen an unboxing on CZcams years ago and I kept checking eBay until I found one at the right price. They always come around at the right price. It's just a question of when

For once I strongly disagree with you though Keith, this is the go to Dredd movie. It’s no contest. I’m not a fan of the Stallone version, I don’t dislike it, but this is far superior. Imo

A great film and I even saw it in 3D at the cinema which was all the rage at the time.
As a 2000 AD fan as a kid I though it was a great adaptation but sadly didn’t do the business in the US to get a sequel.
I’ll not mention the Stallone film!
I never had the pleasure of seeing it on the big screen in 3D but I could imagine how great it was considering how good it looks at home on my own setup. It's amazing the fans were screaming for a Dredd movie and when they finally got it nobody went to see it. Such a shame we'll never see a sequel

Sadly Dredd never penetrated the US, ironically where it is set. The next 2000 AD adaptation will be the animated movie of Rogue Trooper.

This movie reminds me a lot of The Raid. And I think this came out after. But I do like this. But have the love for Stallone for sure mate!
You would be shocked to hear that I have not seen the raid but that is going to be remedied very very soon because I'm going to be getting a 4K release of it. I honestly cannot wait to finally check it out

I actually got a Blu-ray recently for it but then I heard about the 4K release so I decided if I'm going to watch it I may as well watch it in the best possible way

This is way a better movie than the stallone version..where they went wrong is Stallone taking the helmet off!
Believe it or not Steven I actually prefer the Stallone version. The thing with myself is I have no ties towards the comic book so it never really bothered me when Stallone took off the helmet. I know it's a big no-no when it comes to dredd fans
You can buy judge dredd figures and also his helmet which is a nice display piece keith!

Do you think this 3d disk’s resolution is better than the standard 3d release with both versions on one disk? I love the movie but 3d resolution is pretty poor. It is a shame they thought cramming both into 1 disk was ok.
I have to admit I never had too much problems when it came to the resolution on the 3D disc. Having said that I haven't watched this one on 3D it's the standard one. So maybe there is a difference
Cool. I have noticed that when 3d and non-3d version are on the same disk, pixelation can be noticeable. Resident Evil Afterlife and Dredd are like that.
@tgamirov it's funny you mentioned Resident Evil afterlife because I do remember seeing pixelation on that release.

@OzzyMandias everything seems to be okay at the moment. Maybe whenever you do write a long message copy it and then simply paste if it gets deleted again.
3D film releases are great, just a shame that modern TV's dont support it so people will be unable to watch them in the future.
Yeah it is a shame. Thankfully I have two 3D TVs in the house but there's always that worry that someday they will pack in. At least the option to buy a 3D projector is still available.
@@millerman9991 i really enjoyed 3D movie technology, its a shame they didnt continue to have it as a standard TV and cinema feature. I know the Meta Quest VR headset also supports it, but with no new content being created its sadly doomed to history :(.

Yeah but at least one of them has a lenticular cover so it feels somewhat different.
Lucky to even get an original Steelbook as no one really does anymore. They just use the existing one that is out which in most cases is awful, which sucks as they could do some amazing packaging but it will always have the ugly steel inside.
I've said it so many times and I will always say it but for me a steelbook will never define a release like this. It's the outer packaging that I love and nothing's ever going to change. I couldn't be happier

@@millerman9991 You’re missing out. Give it a go - The sequel is also great but went more a traditional movie route where the first was the original tower block fight - but the action scenes are astonishing and brutal, as most Asian cinema is.
There is a 4K release coming out for it and somebody actually bought it for me so I'm finally going to be able to check it out. I've heard so many great things about the movie. I don't think the sequel is part of the 4K edition.
