WyreWizard and SamCarter6: I concur 100% with your words, gentlemen. It truly *is* very difficult to pin down Gul Dukat, as he is indeed such a multifaceted character. That's actually why I love him, and have him as my favourite character in Deep Space Nine, followed very closely by Elim Garak. Marc Alaimo-sama did an excellent job portraying him. I do believe he's *THE* most multifaceted villain in Star Trek, period. He is also so very human and relatable; another reason why I love him so.
Garak is awesome, funny and sweet. I watched an interview with some of the actors and the moderator was talking about how creepy Garak is and I was like "Oh, please! Garak is shady and delighted to remind people that he cannot be trusted...but creepy?" Dukat is the creepy one!
Gul Dukat will make Cardassia great again.
I got a chance to meet Marc Alaimo (Dukat) at the last Star Trek Vegas convention to be held at the Hilton, back in 2010 I believe? Marc was very sweet and charming when I got to talk to him in the restaurant's coffee shop. He was just as suave and awesome as Dukat. :)

Gul Dukat is anything but your basic textbook Archvillain. Throughout the run of DS9, we see many sides to him. He has been both friend and enemy to Sisko. He had killed one very lovable crew member in Jadzia and that put him under the skins of many. We also see his fatherly side when Tora Ziyal is killed and he is put deeply in grief. But I doubt we'll ever see an archvillain who is anything like Gul Dukat.

Great tribute to a great character. Dukat was so misunderstood and underappreciated both in-universe and in terms of fan reception. TPTB went at great lengths in order to brainwash the fandom to hate Dukat. The footage really shows the most emblematic scenes featuring Dukat. I like the last scene, as though he shakes off the experience in fire caves and carries on, ready for new challenges. Well done!
Gul Dukat is actually one of my favorite villains in Star Trek. I mean even though he has his sweet and gentle sides along with his villain sides, I might have to admit (sorry I am a girl) he is hella good looking. I always thought that. And sometimes, I would just watch DS9 just to see the episodes he is in lol
Christina Snyman my favorite trek character ever. Im just upset with season 7. His arch in that season was disappointing. Always thought him and major kira should have hooked up.

It's ok. I get the feeling. I understand that originally there was another actor who played the role, but he didn't have the presence, so they got Marc Alaimo to play the role and...well...they might have overachieved. It's sometimes difficult to hate him, even though he is evil, because of the charisma and charm he has. It's like Tywin Lannister in GoT (watched only a few clips and episodes), he is also sometimes too difficult to hate, because of the way Charles Dance portrays him.

Mmm... Gul Dukat. One of the best villains and the best characters in ST. Stole the show every time he appeared. It's a shame the writers were never sure what to do with him. Post S6E6 Dukat? Never happened.

I watched all episodes on Netflix season 1-season7..I love dul kat,garak,damar,quark,kira,dax,,Dr. Bashir, Rom,worf, odo, even woyoun.

I think Gul dukat is a tragic villain. I think that he is not evil by his nature, but became evil over time being. and when his beloved daughter died.
he also had many good sides. he loved his daughter, even sacrified a rank in order to help her. and even though he said to Sisko that he hated bajorans, I do not think that he always hated them.
He certainly didnt mind banging them.
Man, those were very good video clips with very good music! I still have yet to make something cool like that. You showed the really good shots of him they've made for the series.
DS9 was my favorite show, although I like them all. I always wished they'd come back to that show in some way. Ten years later... still waiting.

I love Dukat so much! Superb actor and such an amazing unforgettable character. I know this might sound crazy but I just feel so sorry for the poor guy he wasn't all bad or evil. Dukat was by far one of if not the best of the best when it came to Star trek Villany.. He looked like a walking talking King Cobra.. even surrounded by gem hadar or other Cardassians he just commanded the room.. Sisko vs Dukat was an epic battle of chess over the years and I for one wish it lasted longer then it did... The Character just dominated.. flat out.. Dukat and Garak, Dukat and Sisko were the best verbal sparing matches in sci fi history in my mind..
Gul'Dukat were an excellent character. He wasn't just ''evil''. He was arrogant, he was at times obnoxious, but at the same time being charismatic. Not to mention his Strategic and Tactical skills aswell. I remember Gul'Dukat was impressiv already in TNG, were the Cardassian shields and weapons were weak, compared to the federation or any other, and still he managed to kick ass.
But I must admit. I've wanted Dukat and Damar to rebell against the dominion together, and then let the Cardassian-

I had hoped he and the major would get together. they really ruined his character by season 7. I still watch mainly his episodes though of playthroughs

Maybe but I don't think there was anything in the movie to suggest that and I think there should be that explanation in the movie rather than having to purchase a comic to find out. Seems kind of lazy to me for it to not be in the film.
I love the cardassians, they are so much more noble than other species give them credit for.

No Khan? I like Dukat (apart from the Dukat from season seven) but I thought Nero wasn't a very good villain. His motivations didn't make sense and weren't justified. I mean Khan's made sense because he blamed kirk for stranding him and his people and Kirk did exile them while Spock just tried to help Nero and he or the federation didn't do anything to him or Romulus.

Dukat was so much better as a character before the episode "Waltz" . After that episode he was so cheesy. Credit to the actor though be did an outstanding job
I have a little thing for Klingons, but no one in the Star Trek universe is as hot as Gul Dukat! The best series deserves the best villain and the times when you can see he isn't pure evil make him even more desirable!

Why is Kahn even popular. I've never understood why people like him as a villian. Dukat is a grey character , he's not a villian but also not a hero.
Much like Ricardo Montalban, he played a villain as a hero. In Wrath of Khan, Montalban played Khan as the ultimate avenger, blind to his own mistakes. In DS9 Alaimo played Dukat as the guy willing to do anything for his people, who ultimately brought horror on them A tragic figure who became the villain by taking the whole galaxy down with him, believing most of the time that he was right.

It is definitely! If possible you should check out his german voice, in my opinion it is even better. It's a bit meaner and sexier, but maybe this is partly due to the fact I'm so used to it. ;)

@PainIsParty Why would it be disappointing that Mr. Alaimo is a decent person? From an artistic perspective, I think that speaks very highly of him as an actor that if his personality is indeed that different from Dukat's, that he was able to create the character so convincingly. Not to mention--I would much prefer to think that if I were fortunate enough to attend a con where he was present, that he would be nice. :-)
Sounds like its compressed & limited to 32 Khz, so it sounds warmer here than the higher quality video of the song
