    If you disagree on how to take a project forward it's OK to part ways. However, how you part ways is essential. The way he was dismissed was not befitting a person that has done so much for Milan. I can't wait for the new project to start as I feel it will fail and we will be closer to getting Cardinale out of our club.

    Funny how people are trying to justify the actions of someone who doesn't know anything about football and thinks it is just business and nothing more than that by spreading fake rumours(Maldini wanting Pirlo as a coach lol). The narrative of not having a good mercato last summer is also invalid simply because 70% of our transfer budget was spent on a 21yo Belgian kid. How can you expect him to deliver from his first season? What if he is actually good next year? Will that make Paolo a good director? Have you guys also ever thought that it might be Pioli's fault that he never managed to integrate the new players to the team? How can Paolo's firing make sense to you while immediately after him being sucked they started talking shit about him and they didn't even thank him as they should have! They just threw out a shitty announcement as if we're talking about fucking Constant. We then started being linked to several free transfers such as Ndicka and Thuram(guess what, we won't get anyone, they'll end up at Roma and PSG) just so that they can give us some fake hope while we all know that we will end up signing some random U21 players from Ligue 2 lmao because there is no desire to invest. Gerry just wants to build the new stadium, sell double the price he spend to buy us and then fuck off. That's what Yanks are all about, they don't care about winning silverware, simple as that.

    • @footballkush
      @footballkush  Před rokem

      As we tried to highlights, mercato is just one point. Some would say spending 70% of the budget on one player was a bad call when the upper management wanted Dybala instead, he was a proven talent in the league and succeeded this year. I think his lack of wanting to work in a team and wanting sole control is what got him fired, not CDK or RedBird's desire for money.

    • @aldomstfr
      @aldomstfr Před rokem +2

      @@footballkush You are actually wrong. Paolo in one of his recent interviews mentioned that they(I guess he meant himself and the upper management) had agreed that the way they will operate in the mercato would be by buying young players with potential. He said that we could have gone for Dybala, but we didn't because that was not in the plan. Guess who did not want us to buy "old" players like Dybala, I'll leave that to you. Isn't it obvious that they want us to buy young players so that we develop them and then sell them and make profit? Similar to the model clubs like Dortmund and Benfica have been following.
      Do you really think Paolo wanted us to become a feeder club and not go for already proven players? If yes, then I guess theres no point arguing further. To me it is pretty clear why Paolo got fired and what his intentions were regarding the summer mercato. He was probably the only one who wanted us to get back where we were before the banter era which didn't allign with whatever Gerry had on his mind so he got fired.

    What a load of bull.
    First of all Maldini had to prove his worth to play in that historical Milan side. He was also chosen and captained the Italian team. Just because Ibra started from the streets you are going to shit all-over Maldini??
    It's not exactly easy to live up to your father. Once your father was already considered a hero.
    The guy made Milan relevant again on a tight budget in very little time.
    Every time Maldini tried to sign a player or renew a contract Elliott made it very difficult case in point Kessie agent fee. Or Chalhanoglu fiasco.
    Alot of players take time to reach their potential in Italy... Let's see what becomes of CDK if he manges to pull through then suddenly Maldini is a genius again.
    He is respected all over the football world.
    Sorry but this is none other then a ego thing from Gerry Cardinale.

    In term of an enterprise it totally made sense, nontheless, in terms of results, Redbird MUST do something better than a semifinal in UCL or Scudetto, because that's what Maldini did. Also, let's not forget this is AC Milan not the Oakland A's, we do not care if Redbird has no money, if they can't compete with big teams in Europe, why did they buy in the first place? I stayed up til 5 to watch that live session with Milan weekly (time difference). It was a wonderful talk and I'm glad you both were there. Awesome stuff. I agree with you both. Kudos in coming out with this unpopular opinion !
    The only thing I find unfortunate is that we won't have the special touch Paolo had bringing players in. He went to Ibiza to find Theo, he would mentor these players. He was also instrumental in bringing a winning mentality. Maldini should have been more humble and accepted a minor role, one that is more representative of his background and skillset. This should have happened at the moment of the "renewal". Had he dones this we would not have seen him stay.
    My only wish is that no bridges were burned and that peace can happen between all parties. I dream that one day Cardinale comes out publically to acknowledges (even apologize for) having hurt the fans. Maldini should come out at the same time to acknowledge that he put his ego before the club and will use his influence to sway players to bring them in and occasionally consult when there is a need. It's fantasyland but I can dream :).

    I am still very unhappy with it. Bcoz if you have heard cardinale's interview he said we can't win trophies very year and stuff, which fears me. This approach could end up as Milan being feeder club to other teams and not win or even compete for ucl and seria regularly. If in this mercato we don't bring players on atleast 4 positions that is cam rw st and cm (first team quality players) then that tells about his intention does he want to be winning trophies or just be self sustaining company.

    Not having money is a reality Milan cannot ignore, we have a revenue of less than 300 mil out of which respecting FFP we can spend a total of 200 mil in wages transfers plus agent fees, we have a wage bill of around 100 mil including taxes last year that leaves us with only a 100 mil to spend that too keeping in mind that we cannot make a loss of more than 60 mil in three years and if last 2 years are to be taken we already have a loss of 150 mil around 60 mil last year and 90 before it, even if we remove the covid impacted year we are above the threshold.
    50 mil or less is the reality and we need innovative ways to keep the team competitive, if red bird manages to do that let me tell you we are gonna change this hyperinflated football world.
    We need to carefully monitor the upcoming transfer market along with the performance during the season, early sacking gave us the benefit that the players will have more than enough time to recuperate, next step is to get our major signings in before pre season.

Does he not know in what state the league is right now we don’t even have a stadium did he seriously think that throwing money into a project that barely covers its loses at the moment is sustainable for more that a season or two. I mean just look at what is happening to Juve and Inter one might even go back to serie B and one has to sell players even tho they went to the CL finals or they will go bankrupt even Barca and their strategy seems to be on very shaky grounds !!! Books have to balance out as some point and that is a fact and with the current financial state of Serie A, that gives you zero room for mistakes.. Increase the overall wages bill altogether. spend more money on mercato(it will happen). they have to buy atleast buy 2 midfielders, a 10, RW, CF and a LB to make the team competitive. On the financial side the club needs to generated more money commercially to off set the increase in the wages bill or make a deep run in UCL(with this current squad). now i will ask you again regardless of cooperate American BS. was it justified? anyone with a brain that can think will say no. stop sucking up to Gerry. our beloved club is being destroy right infront of our eyes. I believe the management are not ready for a big team as Ac milan , clearly they took it for other financially and economics propuse, not for invest millions to improve a team, ac milan, won the scudeto coz the consolidate players , not from young players, otherwise if they want apply the way to use young talents, why you don’t use the primavera instead the others?, un that way you save money, what they don’t realize is not going to champions , will damage ac Milan finance but if you don’t bring a goo players to be competitive , you will have lest chance to go into champions, cardinals is not a soccer fan, he is just a business guy, so ac Milan already get down middle table team, poli is a limite coach, his work is upgrade players, u can see techincal have better players like their Alawys use so he can’t see that , Milan never run like Inter, no sacrifice , not even make some triangule coz they lose the ball so fast, that is pio Lis work, that’s why many teams fired him in the pass, that must means something , resume boss like his workers listen to him, is someone don’t listen ok u get fired , simply than that . Thanks

      When they say young, they don't mean Primavera young. It's proven talent which is under the radar at smaller teams. Honestly, only time will tell if this method works!

  • @MdAbidHossainzim
    @MdAbidHossainzim Před rokem +1

    I think Maldini wanted to put Milan among the top 3-5 teams within next 2 years. You can keep on investing on new young players like Dortmund or Ajax. What will happen is that you will need to sell or let them go for free when they develop. Think from Theo's or similar player's perspective. He is currently one of the three best LBs if not the best. He would want to win UCL or at least compete within next few yeas. If you don't give him that and also don't give him a very high salary, he will leave to another club within 2 years giving him time to win the trophy with a big club. Now Milan has 4-5 places with average or okay players. If you keep on putting new players and take 2-3 years to develop them, and some may develop or some may fail and keep on doing this, you will never reach to that level. Maldini wanted to avoid that and wanted to put tested and proven players. I think he wanted more power because for every significant transfer fee or contract signing he needed confirmation from above which cost delays and enabling the players agents to shop their players elsewhere. He tried to extend Kessie one year before the end of contract at 6.5m, but management didn't approve that. Eventually Kessie performed better that year and got much more salary offer for Milan to compete. There are more examples, like the one with Renato Sanchez. You need to be fast to seal this deals. I don't know how much they needed to board the planes for CDK sigining. I don't think he wanted to spend a lot. But, budget like 35M for a summer mercado, is too small for a club who reached top 4 in Italy and Europe and won the second highest CLs.
    About Pioli, I think he reached his limit. His attacking gameplan is depend on Leao, put crosses for Giroud and counter attack. There is no short and quick passing in the attack. I think he failed to integrate CDK and Origi. Did you ever see some eager runners trying to break the offside line this season during buildup play? I didnot see Origi to try break the offside trap anytime. Al the time he received the ball with 2/3 defenders behind him and trying to dribble through them. Origi was never a good link up player which Giroud is and you can't use the same tactics for both of them. I think he will have this problem with all the players who are creative, with good movement and runs. He did well with counter attacking tactics. We will also probably see the difference between him and a top coach, by looking at how Brahim does this season. I guess Ancelotti will use him to replace Modric.

    What Maldini has done for the club deserved more respect. Cardinale is still a nobody
    Maldini was the best person possible at the beginning of the Elliott project. He is one of the biggest names in the history of FOOTBALL. Theo, Tomori, Zlatan amongst others came for him. Theo had almost signed with a German club (I think Leverkusen) when Maldini personally went to ibiza to convince him to join milan.
    Almost the entire team that won the scudetto in 2022 was brought in by Maldini (including pioli).
    The summer transfer of 2022 was poor, but we all knew that we needed improvements in the right wing, attacking mid and striker. Hi got funds just for cdk. Cardinale agreed like a politician, knowing that supporters will forget that the management didn't help with the budget and hoped that supporters will forget that (which is what also happened).
    Was Maldini the best starting with the summer of 23? Not necessarily. There could be others better. However, Scaroni 's main task was to build the stadium. 4 years later the location changed and still wait for the authorisations. Maldini might have wanted more power also because he recognised that he was surrounded by idiots.
    Maldini deserved a better separation. There are fewer footballers with his knowledge than rich people/organisations capable of finding the club.
    Still, I'm not defending all his actions. And conclude that he was the best in 2019, but replaceable in 2023

All these lies about him and pioli, and being this power hungry dictator are all lies and I'm very surprised that a lot of milanisti are actually buying that nonsense. This is just a campaign by redbird to try and smear paolo's name so the naive fans can come around and accept their very bad decision. Apparently it's working, unfortunately.
