My wife gifted me this game in 2016. My favorite board game to this day. We do give China two extra infantry, feeling it balances out the game. But it's pretty damn balanced out of box
It depends on how you are playing. Most people just play until one side gives up. Which is fun and how I usually play that way. BUT if you play for victory cities, a Japan first strategy is not uncommon in tournament play. Hong Kong, Manila, Shanghi, and Calcutta are a lot of vicotry cities.

Hey, why not play Hearts of iron 4 ? Its probably the most realistic grand strategy game I have ever played, focused on WW2.
I have thought about that, I’m not a big online gamer I prefer playing board games physically but I’ve definitely seen how good it is!
Have you tried axis and allies online?
I have, but personally I love the feeling of moving pieces around and rolling dice etc... instead of doing it online.
