Thank you very much indeed, that's absolutely fantastic of you.
I have managed to pick up a rod down in Torquay, savage gear sg2 7 / 35 gram at the harbour tackle shop I have also picked up a reel.
Not going to rush in to quick, as there might be a very slim chance I might get my gear or some of it back 🤔 I'm hoping.
Can't say to much but the light fingered larry is known to the local force there.

Could you possibly do a vid advising on swapping trebles for singles, ie hook patterns and sizes, say for Hornets and how you make sure you don’t unbalance the lures? I have been meaning to try this myself and would value your advice.

Thanks Paul, that is very kind and a great idea for a video. The hornets balance really well with singles, I just replace them with a single which has a gape the width of the treble im replacing (or close to). All the best guy

Love the Salmo hornets i allways catch perch or pike with it!
One of the chubs is real big - 60cm.

@@theoccasionalangler6956 well I went this morning early had a nice chub of around 3lb so I'm pleased with that, they hit very hard almost as hard as tigerfish

Hi bud well good vid. Can you recommend a lure rod action and casting weight for chub.
Hi mate, I like 1-6g and a moderate action rod for small crankbaits for chub. I like a longer rod if I am on a river fishing from the bank 7-8ft, shorter if wading 5ft)
Some great fish! Have you got any pointers as to which single hooks you swapped over to?
Hi Sam, I use trubacco and decoy plugging singles. I try and match the gape to the widest part of the trebles

Hi Ant , generally size 6 or 4 …. If you are fishing ultra lite setup just remember single hooks sometimes need a bit more uuumph to set the hook in comparison to trebles

Sticker at 6:28, it’d fit right in to the colour scheme on my bass box 🤷♂️. My favourite chub lure is a salmo bass bug, but they have a knack to hit big pike lures - I’ve had a few nice chub on 16 and 19cm Savage Gear 4plays
Thanks mate, your in the draw. Wow its amazing you caught chub on such big lures... I won't fish anything above 5cm for them. That said I have caught trout on savage gear 4 play 16cm!!

I know this was two years ago but, I think I have a pretty good idea where you are by the bridge, the stretch by the supermarket I'm sure i have been to or by a while back.
Question ? On these stretches that you fish from, are they open water or club waters ??

6 or 8 seems to work for me

I use 6s on the 3.5 hornets and 4s on the 4.5 and 5cm hornets too
