You can enter a temple but not in those temples where tantrik rituals has been performed you can pray to any form of god except ugra devta because ugra devta pooja includes some tantrik rituals even if you are doing their satvik pooja

I since my childhood have been to temples and In my own home to the pooja room....Even during periods whenever i felt like....and it really has always made me feel more positive...its like my body is charged with happiness and love....Bz The god doesn't have physical attachment..he /she is above all...ok if u r still not satisfied with this modern day reason...there were many yoginis in the earlier days who did upasana of various kinds...for many years ..n they had periods cz They are not pregnant and took brahmacharya...and did worship of their ishta devata and diety....Bz spirituality doesn't see the physical body....

Every female has the same right as male to go anytime on any temple to pray 24*7 and on every month , week or day even on mentruals
We just want to pray to God, it is not our intention to contaminate or desecrate the temple of God
Some of you are saying it is a sin to go to temple on menstruals but God loves everyone , she/he will never be sad about this..
There is nothing to make a big issue about it..

Honestly I respect the fact that this so call myth has some science behind it. These sayings were made out of the reason for women to be comfortable at home while she's on her periods. But I'll put my opinions out here. Thousands of yrs ago when these sayings were implemented women used to do a lot of labour (which is not the situation rn), it's all about energies. Periods produces warmth in the body, bathing does opposite. You surely won't like to go temples without having a bath. Energies running opposite is the reason why a woman is said to have restrictions during her menstruation. It's not about contaminating kitchens or temples. All the myths and saying are more in the favour of ayurveda and not particularly a gender opposition

I undersrand the life of people in 90t's but in todays generation.. praying god is not a work.. you just go into the puja room and sit in there for sometime reciting shlokas in mind, applying kumkum or gandha if needed and thats it... for that also why not allowed..
What makes people to follow this ( not going into the puja room or tenple)so perfectly and strictly without knowing the correct reason???
There's no physical work to do, you can tell anyother person to do at home.. done..
If so rest is the main thing, then shouldn't it be the choice of a woman whether to take rest or not cause its her decision her body, her life.. why rules and regulations?

She didn"t ask the question correctly . For me the question is , see if i am going on a trip to temples not other places to temples then i got period suddenly can i go then or just sit outside cause they say its impure (in tamil they say "THEETU") AND THAT I AM DIRTY ITS NOT RIGHT we usually don't like to work or go out during periods but when we are on some like family event at a temple or any vacation to temple and a women got period she is treated like some kind of animal. its the question we girls have.

Such rules doesn't matter when u r in mood to serve God.. But if you just want to prove something then u r not allowed as per scriptures..

I disagree with sadguru when he says you can go to temple when menstruating. There is a lot of science behind such exclusions. Sino Joseph has written a beautiful book on rhtuvidya. One should read that to understand these practices. Any right thinking women will not enter the temple just because they want to prove a point. I was a rebel in my younger days, often against every ritual, religions practice. But with more grey hair, better sense has prevailed. I appeal to those ladies that fall under the same category of today's women activists ( read anarchists). Please don't do anything to prove a point. Practices that are around for centuries are there for a reason. If you can, then please try to understand them in detail. And on entering temple when menstruating..... Please don't say it's your personal liberty etc. No it's not. A temple doesn't belong to you. It's belongs to the deity. This is the position even in law. If you are entering someone else's home, it should be in their terms and not yours. Freedom comes with responsibility. Be responsible and don't bother the deity or the other devotees. Fyi.... Temple entries act alao specifies the does and don'ts.

@@shravanmarathe2767 not clear on what you wish to convey. I have not read puranas to either agree or deny your comment. The question here is not about praying. One can do japa of the lord all day all time. Why not inside a temple is the question. in some temples it may be allowed for example the khamkaya. I do not know. But temples per aagama shastra , this is not done. I have given the book reference and my reasons.
