EXOcontralto ARE YOU GOING TO SLAMOLOGY WITH "LITTLE BLUE"?
Hey exo let me have the sub beside u lol
EXOcontralto is the giveaway over?
Finally, an actual diy standing desk build! Every other video i’ve found is just people buying a frame, or entire desk, and calling it DIY since they had to assemble it. Ive been playing around with a similar design in my head, but seeing yours gave me some good ideas, and kind of solved some problems I wasnt too sure about, particularly dealing with the variable distance of the actuators, which you solved by keeping that little gap.
With that 12 volt power supply you can also hook up an extra car audio amplifier and build yourself some custom computer speakers....
And can add lasers too
U made me realized I should just buy a store bought standing desk. Thank you sir.
???? bro wut. U watch this just to see how much effort put to this instead of appreciating the engineer ?
Man I love this video! It makes me so happy to see people making things for themselves and putting information out into the world. I came here because I want to make an adjustable-height strong back for building a canoe. I think I was able to learn from your approach, so I am very grateful.
Damn it! When you knocked on the desk my dog freaked out and started barking like mad thinking someone was here and scared the shit outta me. HaHa
Dude, I love it. In a woodworker who recently found myself in a wheelchair from spinal stenosis and I plan to use this to make an adjustable height work bench. Wish I'd found this sooner.
Is there a parts list available? Things like the motors, power supplies, and the surface coverings that you used...etc?
I know I’m like last year late and you’ve probably found the answers but it’s in his description 🙃
Yoooo that's sound edit for the double tap at 10:12 was sooo perfect!!! Thank you for your work
Whoever is putting this together is really gifted. This is so easy to watch. Everything transitions so effortlessly. You're really a natural at this. The camerawork is also just superb. I feel like I'm there and nothing will ever go wrong.
I have to say that the way you work and how much of your life is DIY is absolutely beautiful, people seem to just go buy things and not build them exactly how they want or need. Being from a family of DIY'ers it's always weird when people ask me how I fixed this or that or how I learned to do things and I always say I just do them... heck for my daughter's 3rd-grade science far she built a solar-powered desk fan out 4 solar power sets of led Christmas lights cut and soldered together (wired up 1.25v to 5v) and soldered into a DIY USB board and now you can plug anything USB (the fan was to show the project working). I am so very grateful for people like you that show how easy it can be to JUST DO IT. I am 100% positive you make your father proud seeing the knowledge he has passed to you being used in the ways you do it.
Thanks for the nice comment man! Appreciate the kind words
Extremely well done and exactly what I was looking for when I “CZcamsd ‘diy motorized desk”… Thank you.
Awesome build man, you are really handy! It is the first diy video I watch until the end since ever ahahah really appreciated all the work arounds and smart little adds to ensure maintenance easiness
Dude, I used to watch all your bass videos back in the day!! I was obsessed back then 😅 Glad you are still around making great content!
You’re the man! I’m about to start my own standing desk project, definitely will use this as a guide
I remember using actuators a lot to make amp racks that slide out. I love what you're doing here EXO! Everyone needs a break from the normal grind. This is a great way to do it and when you are so smart! Just don't lose sight of what your audience is here for we all support you but we love car audio and love seeing you do it! Believe me, we know you're intelligent obviously look at this video! We also love and appreciate you. Thanks for doing this.
Remember everyone, these are 12 volt actuators so think of all you can do in vehicles with different sizes of these!
Love this dude's energy!!
Great video, easy to follow, and love the problem solving that is clearly explained; I'm designing something similar and didn't think of leaving the actuator end floating. I also love that true DIY look at the end. Thanks for publishing this, and keep up the good work.
I have been watching this tutorial more than 10 times and it still adores me like its always been my 1st time watched.. but I still did not get the table drawing plan.. all the items listed has been purchased and ready to installed.. if you dont mind to share the table drawing plan?
Finally descriptions I can understand and it seems easy to do....keep up the good work and Thanks!!!
Happy to help, always willing to answer questions if you have any.
Many thanks. Your video has inspired me to build my own adjustable standing desk.
Dude, that's awesome! I like the thought that went behind it all. Keep up the awesome videos and i'm glad to hear that you'll be able to put out more!
Some great engineering here! A great standing desk and lots of general good ideas besides.
Just wanna say great video and thank you for being like a mentor to me and so many others. Can’t wait to see what’s next for Frankie
I can't believe I found it! Exactly what I was looking for!
Dude I love it! Your production skills have doubled since the last video
Very inspiring ! Have been wondering about that since a long time as I use a market one at work and it's just great.
Thanks a lot !
Great stuff! I love the idea for using the drawer slides, that is key for me. I have a very old steel desk that is a lot smaller than most, but still a lot heavier than just a table top. I want to put a lift on that one, would be awesome. I'm thinking of a scissor lift type of system, but just gathering all the ideas I can find right now. So far, this was the best (true) DIY standing desk video I've come across.
WoW!, Great idea, thanks for documenting and video. I'm looking at getting a standing desk and I'm finding them to be so expensive. Do you have a parts list or plans you can share? ie, what actuators did you use? This build was a couple of years ago, is there anything you'd do different now?
Mother of desk! This is perfect!
Wow, man. This is a great guide and really inspirational. I was trying to figure out how to hack my own standing desk and I'm going to borrow from you a lot. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Happy to lend a hand if you end up having any questions :)
Thank you for sharing. Is it still functional? Have you replaced any parts? What could be the weight it could handle?
Finally a exo video
You're positively brilliant!
Bro this is so next level!!
Haven't seen you on here for a little while.... anticipating upcoming videos.. keep up the good work sir.
Really gotta hand it to ya, man. Bravo, you did it!
Excellent job. Did you need to do anything special to make sure the actuators worked as one? Also, do they have to fully extend or can you start and stop the at multiple heights?
Dude, I've been subscribed to you for years and when I searched this video, it said I was unsubscribed! Fixed that damn issue! Hope to see a lot more stuff soon. I loved seeing all of your subwoofer builds!
Many thanks, i think I will crack one of these out for myself! ; nice attention to detail bud 👍👌👌💪💪
Thanks for the full demo. Made the same version in SA works perfect and looks beautifull.
Quick and dirty. I like it.
Very clear on the detail of not only what you did but why you designed the desk the way you did. You did a great job, made me some ideas thanks to your explanation on the install.
Appreciate that, thank you!
Great video. I learned a great deal from it. Thank you EXO.
You are a great craftsman Exo! Excellent job on the desk, man! Love the videos as always.
Much appreciated, thank you!
Wow, great work, and very clean
nice to see you Exo! nice project.
Nice design! I like your modular approach :)
That’s pretty fresh!!!
This is awesome !! I can’t wait to make this !
Thank you for the parts list inside the description.
great job exo
Simple and Best solution I could find.
Really cool DIY project 👍👍👍 Love it 😃 Thanks for sharing.
really nice design man. great explanations too
Awesome mate! Nice work
Can you provide the link to which actuators, power supply, and switch you used?
Cool build. Will actuator stay extended without power? Also is the power supply noisy? I think I would like to only turn it on when wanting to raise or lower desk, cheers
Nice job. I have really been wanting to build myself a sit/stand desk.
over all quite the interesting ideas; will surely take a couple to when i make mine
wondering about the foam buffers? wondering if felt would work better?
Awesome job EXO
That is sooooooo awesome and inventive bro. Love your work. Amazing stuff.
The bag on the back of the saw is genius!
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing.
woodworking is so soothing
Nice video man
Hi +EXOcontralto thanks for this beautiful video with an amazing design and your comments on everything. I was hoping to convert my existing normal desk to electric standing desk and was thinking about the plan and was researching, after seeing several DIY videos on this, I can say that I was impressed with your such well thought out design and the style of the video. Thanks man!!
Thanks for the comment, Bilal! Hopefully this can be helpful during your own build :)
Great video !
It's a really amazing guide - basic materials, basic tools, BUT a couple of excellent ideas implemented and lots of room for improvement by using more advanced tools / materials if necessary. I've especially appreciated the idea of static bottom position - it allows to use the table for more heavy duty works when bottomed out (probably). I plan to use this guide to build my home workbench. I'll probably go for 4 legs + T-Slot. Thanks a lot for this excellent tutorial!
love your work
When the table is extended all the load in on the actuators. Are they strong enough to not deform over time?
Nice! A good base project to build my own!
First you prob wont see this. But I've been watching you for 5 years and never commented on 1 single video. But you seriously are a genius in my eye. Have you ever thought of opening a shop of any sort? I mean if you put your mind to anything you can do it. Whether that be cars anything in and out. House work. You name it you can do it. I wish I lived closer to you so we could do a project together. I tilt my hat off to you BIG TIME!!! KEEP UP THE AWESOME JOB!! LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEW BUILD IN FRANKENSTEIN!!!!!!
saw this video 4 years ago. and i took 3 hours to find this exact one to build my own. Thanks lol
What you mean?
Really interesting solution. I may use some of what you teach here in a workshop upgrade. Could you share links to parts you used - in particular, the actuator parts. I need to find heavy duty gas springs.
if I wanted to create a desk that could start from sitting on the floor (my preferred working spot) all the way to standing, do you have any recs?? thanks so much
Great job man
Suuuper super cool!
Good job man love your videos. And I love how you focus on lower cost alternatives. Shout out from salt lake big fan
Does the 2x4 cross member horizontal piece get in the way when you're sitting/standing at the desk?
Great musical taste my man, love the vid
Good job exo
This was absolutely perfect.
Thank you so much!
Happy to help, thanks for watching!!! :D
Cool stuff man
You obviously put a lot of thought in to this design. Nice job! I bought an off-the-shelf sit-stand desk frame with electric actuator - no top - from staples in Canada - $299 (that's about $220 US). I had a scrap of 3/4" ply to make a 20"x 48" desktop. That's maybe $20. Total build time = 1hour. with finish., Cost $235 US in 2022, and no screw holes in the top. I used to think my free time wasn't important, but as you get older you realize time is the greatest cost.
This was awesome to see! Thanks for the inspiration dude, your the man.
Means a lot to have your viewership, thanks!
That is a great DIY build my man!!!
Excellent design
Great Job man :)
Hey, mate could you please mention how thick are the pieces of wood in the legs and perhaps the actual measure of them as well? Thank you so much!
I am definitely taking this example to make my own
Actual thickness is U.S. standard for our 2x4's, 1-1/2" x 3-1/2". Length, he'll have to answer that one.
Wow, awesome video. Actually looking forward to building this too.
This is actually pretty dope, I always wanted a lift desk but never really wanted to pay for it but as a DIY project I would actually do. Anything you would have done different?
BURRRRRRURRRRRURRRRRRRRR. "and it's really quiet too!" BURRRRRRURRRRRURRRRRRRRR 😂 I'm in Chapel Hill, would love to swing by and hang sometime dude, been a fan for years. 👍
Hi, It is a nice video! what is the length of the Actuators and force required for this purpose?
I liked this project video very much. Thanks for parts details given
Wow that's freaking awesome.
great vids nice idea
I never do something with electric actuator. but I need an adjustable desk like your build.
Is it possible for one actuator lift up higher than the other one? seriously
AWWW YISSS BUILDING WITH EXO, I've recently bought an Ikea Skarsta, but it doenst have any automation so I'm still turning the handle as a peasant.
Nice build!
