Since this was six years ago I did a search to see how they are doing, and they are doing great! They are in great physical condition and heard is growing. I know that has to be in great part to the prep work and research that was done.
Thank you for the update.
I was going to do the same thing, but thanks to you for sharing your research that makes me very happy. I’m in Australia and have a great love for the native wildlife of all countries. We have a lot to learn here at home. 👍🏻
Yes. I've heard the herd is growing!
@@malcolmphillips8610 It is! And it said the animals were actually in better physical condition than when they were released.
I drove for 2 years from Edmonton, Alberta to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory regularly, twice a week. North of Fort Nelson, there is a free rooming Bison heard. Coming originally from Germany, this was for me “eye candy” watching them. Not so nice in the wintertime, when the animals were sleeping on top of the highway and we drove with 65mph. Passing Fort Nelson, I always had my foot close to the brake pedal. It was helpful when other truckers gave you a position of the heard via two-way radio. I did even witnessed the birth of some little ones right beside the highway. It was always special and has a special place in my heart!
I have been deeply moved with positive feelings about the love, care and teamwork shown by the people who moved the Bison.
I really can’t understand why people thumbs down these vids , they are fantastic as there’s so much of our environment being destroyed. We should be celebrating this type of thing . Good job to all involved
Because it isn't a good video. No voiceover, no good shots and inbetween this very loud dramatic music
Well said!!
I strongly agree 👍

Wow! This was impressive watching these experts transport all the bison-every step of the way was so organized, efficient, and well executed. Kudos!
And amazingly quiet despite all the heavy machinery. They took great care not to stress the animals.
Favorite moment was when the bison started running together (towards some form of freedom) behind the snow mobile! 😍 Happy for them!
These beautiful creatures deserve a chance to play their role in balancing the ecosystem and well done to those who participated in making this relocation possible, and the camera team to be able to capture this work! :)
💯💯💯
The herd now stands at 105 after 26 calves survived the 2021-2022 winter. The first couple of winters was rough on them but the herd is learning to survive in the wild. And 40 more wood bison heifers to be introduced to the herd this summer.
This is very stressful for the Bison poor creatures of God

It was carrying alfalfa cubes.
It's really fantastic to see theese marvelous animals again free in their own habitat! Really thanks to all people who has worked for this project.
It's so cold there!! They're from Oklahoma

Wonderful
This subjects the bison to predation from wild carnivores. Comes with the territory.
@@comment6864 😂😂😂😂 Canadian Wood Bison. All the way from Canada.
Such an excellent video! No music, no yammering people, just nature. 5 STARS!
Historically important event. Great job to all. Ladies and gentlemen, someday you can tell your grandchildren that you were part of the team that introduced bisons in Alaska. Respect!
This has been a long time coming. Such a major event should have made national & international news. Bon chance to all the dedicated people that made this work👏👏👏👏
The ones in Europe didn't either
There’s no updates after 6 yrs!! How many are still alive!
This is fantastic....just fantastic...!!! Another WIN/WIN for conservation, forethought, planning and the will to restore what was otherwise lost.....well done to all of the team that made this happen.Take a real low bow....you all deserve it
Thank you all so much ! What an uplifting video to find .
Great job to all those people that helped make this possible. ( and there many).
Thank you all for this successful operation.
I love how these guys worked quickly quietly and with the least stress to the bison. It must be amazing to be so close to them and scary.
It would be nice if they did a voice over telling us what they are doing and why they are doing it.
It's also nice to see both men and women working side by side equally.
Yes to putting a description with the video; heck it would be cool just hearing what everyone felt like during the process. :-)
Not to get mushy, but this video made my heart feel good. Wow, the dedication of these people
is inspiring and gives me so much hope.
Not mushy at all, IMHO! My heart just soared!
I think mushy is called for. :-)
An amazing feat.Thank you for recording this so I could be a part of this journey if only by watching on a screen.

Very nice and well documented. Thank you to all who helped and to Stuart for educating me about Alaska and how professionally, bison are transported.
This is a very good film in that it shows how expensive and complex such a move is. These are big fellows, not easily managed. Very good. Learned lots.
So cool to see them back in the wild. I went and saw them & donated every summer for years. Thanks Mike
So is the herd growing? How much area are available for them to roam?
Good job done👍👍👍
One of the few departments in Gov't that has real value. Kudos to everyone involved in the project - thanks for your perseverance!
When I was a child we were in Wyoming I believe, and there was a small herd of bison , until you stand up close to one of these magnificent animals you cannot appreciate how absolutely huge they are. God bless you all for the dedication and hard work you did and are doing here.
I was camping in a primitive campsite in the bottom of the Badlands in SD. A buffalo herd came through and one decided to scratch his back against my tent poles. What a wake up call! I opened up the tent door to a wall of hair. The entire herd was walking in between everyone's tent. It was quite an experience. They were all so photogenic too! Not a single one of them were aggressive, but calm and just grazed as they passed by.
Your average cows are bigger...
First, the Yankees killed the Indians and the buffalo are now restoring ... they are doing their own work .. America 200 years 200 warrior

I agree, outstanding! Thank you all so much. A'ho.
It thrills me to see these beautiful, majestic animals being reintroduced. I hope they flourish. Thank you, Alaska.
These animals will provide needed sustenance for predators and people. Invaluable for that area of America. These animals will thrive.
I love how so many people got to have a hand in this and play a different part in safely getting these beautiful beasts to their forever homes. This was an awesome watch. An update would be great too!
O canavarları yok olma noktasına getirenlerde o insanların baba ve dedeleri idi! Ne için takdir etmek edeyim!
You really have to thank the volunteers who helped make this happen. Its great to see Bison once again returned to an area they once roamed.
I'd like to thank the Bison. They were never asked about moving.
Bison extinction is symbol of human greed, stupidity and cruelty. I hope Bison population will recover. I also hope people are becoming nicer and more loving toward animals.
Please support fight for all animals and Bison in particular.

Try four ranches in Montana too.. totaling more than 153,000 acres that has buffalo and other endangered species on them..
What an amazing opportunity to be a part of such an important and significant programme.
😮 HOLY MOLY!!! I COULD barely believe what I was seeing!! I can tell that this miraculous outcome took years and tears in the making.❤Thank you for your commitment.❤
Thank-you sooo much to all of you. They need to return to their roots and live a real life. I am so grateful to you.
Love this video. Everyone involved was so professional; like clockwork. Very few words spoken to keep quiet for the animals as to not alarm them. It really was a beautiful thing to watch. Thank you for sharing.
Exactly my thoughts too! So rare for a video like this! FAR too often there's stupid talking to the cameras while the animals are panicked in the background, this was great!
Very few words?? That's just how the video was edited. There's a lot more that went on during this entire process that they simply can't show due to time constraints.
GaussElim ya, snowmobiles and four wheelers. Real quite! LMFAO.
If I have to explain it to you, you just don't get it.
GaussElim right, If someone needs something explained, they don't get it. And if someone gets it, they don't need it explained. Thank you for explaining this very basic concept of communication, but i already got it. If you don't get that, let me know, and I'll explain it.
That was beautiful. Thank you to all who worked on this project. Thank you for sharing it.
My sentiments too. What preparation! So ... so much of a good thing.
Please don't forget to thank the taxpayers who were probably fleeced for this noble venture.
Sucks living in a democracy (DEMOCRATIC NATION)/"Representative Constitutional Republic" (feel better mtnaziman?) eh? GTFO or buy an island and learn to protect it yourself

It's the sort of thing that will likely pay off massively however, the population will multiply all by itself....unlike our inherently overpriced military hardware procurement system, for example, that has indebted America.
it is a democratic republic. your anger is the brand of all liberals is seems. that's a shame. Seems it's a double standard when implementing such things with little understanding of how the law works and how some factions are trying to undermine the American people in Congress.
Смотрю и радуюсь, люди помогают животным. Это и есть уверенность в завтрашнем дне.!!! 👍👍
As a wildlife rescuer, I get SO annoyed when I see people interacting with wild/rehabilitating to wild animals in stupid ways & playing up for cameras.
This was REALLY refreshing, to watch such professionals in action! The future certainly does look bright for these animals! Fantastic job :)))
@ Lilac Lizard
This was truly a spectacular event to watch. Poor fellow looks like he's been through it, at 6:23, never mind my anxiety. AWESOME
@Purple Drank most humans will die in the furnace, all animals will go to heaven.
@Medusa Charter they're not mutually exclusive! On the contrary, often it's easier to interest people in animal welfare & then once they've supported that, they start to think about how they should care about the human "animals" too, or rather even more & often then feel obligated to help the humans to balance the help they've given the animals.
It's all about humanity & compassion, by denying care to animals, it makes it easier to take the next step & deny it to humans. By engaging with animals, it makes it easier to take the next step & engage with humans that need help too
Get over yer sanctimonious self Karen... ye only looking for online Likes...
wow I loved watching how you took care of them. I love animals and hope they grow back in numbers into the hundreds of thousands. Brought tears to my eyes I was cheering on the buffalo. So much hard work you did to maintain these beautiful animals. I am so proud we have people like yourselves committed to the preservation of endangered species.

I would love to know what the buffalo thought about this entire production.
Funny to think you need AC in Alaska
Watching this now during covid lockdown. 2020c Bravo I am in tears of joy for these magnificent creatures. Thankyou guys for such care and love
What a magnificent sight to see them running as a heard. In late 2014, I visited the Alaskan Wildlife Refuge and they spoke about the upcoming Wood Bison release. How exciting to see some of the actual release. I wish them well and may the project be successful.
Very good - I worked in Alaska through the 70's, 80's & 90's - love the country and people!

The Buffalo were re-introduced to Banff National Park, in July of this year. To my American brothers ... we thank you ... we pray for your Buffalo as well. This is the best of who we are. The most discouraging thing: in neither country did this even barely make national news. UNBELIEVABLE.

I agree it definitely should have, I live in Anchorage Alaska was born here 1953, territorial baby, pretty cool to be born in a territory.
why not pray for those 70++ million murdered unborn in America?
@@deborrahshiffer9582 I remember when you celebrated your new statehood. It was in our local paper. I was about to start elementary school.

👌👏👏👏👍☝👉💕💞💕💞 Thanks a lot each of you !
I’ll bet they loved those alfalfa cubes and that big hay roll placed out there. I hope they do well and I wish the bison much happiness and peace. That was so awesome.
Thank you to all concerned you have done a wonderful thing for these magnificent creatures. 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
What would happened if the snow tractor failed? The bison would have trample him. That is a stampede behind
the person driving the mobile.
That is a labor of love.Love for animals, love for nature...Thank you for the outstanding job....
Excellent video production. Much respect from New Zealand.
Wow, way more than rounding up a bunch of animals and shipping them! So careful and professional. Amazing project…when I was a child, in the 1950’s, I remember Buffalo and Canadian geese both being very endangered.
Here's hoping for a huge success in this project ,and thank you for sharing the video
I once turned a bend on a woodland trail in Canada's "Wood Buffalo National Park", and an obscured wild buffalo gave a surprised grunt and looked at me. Our faces were so close, that all I could see in my field of vision were its eyes and nostrils. I instantly locked my eyes on my boots, stayed motionless, and softly mumbled the lyrics of songs I knew hoping I would bore it. After about two minutes, it went away, and the sun fell on my boots again.
Hope to see them one day
Don't tell me- the song was 'It's a small world after all.' Drives away anyone.
You are very good writer. I hope you will write books someday.
Beautiful birdsong at the end!
Their is a huge amount work that leads to the release of the Bison that was transported to Alaska. a lot of volunteers did a huge amount of work. I don't know why they went to Alaska but I'm quite sure it benefited the Alaskan Game commission. A great filming job!
This is so inspirational. I've seen these creatures at close range in Yellowstone. So magnificent to see and experience. I gain hope in humanity every time I see this. Makes me want to be part of this and support some way or another
What you saw in Yellowstone is plains buffalo, this is wood buffalo. they are related but different species.

From the Bison point of view it had all the makings of an Alien abduction! LOL Magnificent job to the staff & volunteers who made it as humane and with the least amount of stress for the beasts possible. Thank you for reintroducing regal Bison to another one of it's former homelands.

Ali - Check Google and you will see how mankind is butchering and murdering 150 thousand unborn babies everyday; total for all the whole world. This is the greatest genocide that has ever taken place in all the whole world in the history of mankind, bar none. Ali, you cry for an animal. Can you spare some tears for the 55 million tiny little babies that are being butchered per year total in the whole year. Ask Almighty God what He thinks about you crying for animals when 55 million unborn little babies are being butchered every year without end. Jesus died for you so you won't have to go to H e l l and burn there forever.
Yeah,yeah
@@cedar2785 What the fuck are you talking about, abortions?
@@cedar2785 Can you do multiplication and division ??? 150,000 per day X 365 = 54.7 million abortions a year. There are 326 million humans total in the US... 75.4 million of them are women in their childbearing years, ages 15 to 50. Many of those women aren't even fertile but just saying they were...that equals over 72% (over 7 out of 10) of all fertile women. You are saying over 7 out of 10 women(of childbearing age) in the US have an abortion every year??? I'll bet you are a Trump voter,... Aren't you...
Voting for trump has nothing for bad math skills and inflated numbers Nor does rebuilding wildlife in their original habitat have anything to do with politics. However I am a conservative republican and believe in small government so honestly feel that the government has no right to dictate what a woman can do with her body. I'm against abortion because of my religious beliefs but wouldn't presume to condemn anyone who had one.
Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped to make this project a successful one congratulations 🎉
You have not a clue if this worked. Did they freeze to death? Did wolves kill them in a horrible brutal attack? Why are there NO updates???? Do you question anything you see that’s six years old???

Absolutely correct, and yes, it's great to have them back along with the wolves. We sometimes forget that we ourselves are animals... who just happen to be at the top of the food chain. Our survival depends on theirs.
