ABOUT THE TRIP:
As always, Turner Falls was awesome. This was actually our first time fishing it...Who know they stocked trout? We got an awesome campsite, and caught a lot of fish. We also smoked an old cigar - don't ask what kind...
Cloudy winter days = zebra midges, size 20, in black, red, olive, and disco midges in red or green tinsel if the sun starts peaking through the clouds. Drift under a strike indicator. Weight and lengthen leader as needed. This rig can get you every cast action when it's cold or the fish are heavily pressured.
From the guru himself! That does seem to do the trick. I like dropping off a hopper once I get my depth!

@@OkieFish I do, one of the best fly fishing trips I ever had, not one fish over 12”, but the time spent with my son can never be replaced. If you find yourself out Tulsa way, or heck anywhere on the eastern side, give me a shout, can hit the waters and if you want to try other species, that is also loads of Fun. I will get you set up with larger or smaller rods if needed, since I custom make them, and we can plan on a new adventure, here in Oklahoma.

didnt even realize you can fish inside the falls.. for sure bringing my rod next time! I always see trout at the base of the falls.

was the water too cold to swim in? making plans to go for spring break but not sure if we’d be able to swim haha
Yeah it is pretty chilly spring water. The water at the falls is normally cold year round, so you need a good hot day to swim very long!
are they only there in winter and spring?
Yes! They told me the other day that the stocking date is normally November depending on water temp.
