Irish catholic guilt also led us to choose better behavior. It may have been actually a positive thing. It made us realize how are behaviors and choices affect our parents. Children now have never felt guilt and that is dangerous. We have children who keep making the same choices and behaviors even though there parents want them to change. Their parents feelings are not their concern. Are we creating narcissists and people who are incapable of feeling empathy?
