One thing to note I would avoid pushing forward with your thumb when you get used to it. It can cause the cards to stick together. You should be able to just use your middle finger to pull the card back, this requires min pressure with the thumb and first finger, just use them to hold the cards and use the middle finger to drag the card back... takes a bit and you will want to put pressure with your thumb at first but you should shy away from this in the future.

This color change was probably the first color change that I learned and I’ve always thought of how to make it better yet I’ve never thought of starting with one finger. It looks so much cleaner and to the spectator it definitely doesn’t look a beginner trick. I love all of your work I love all of your controls everything. Thank you for taking the time and effort to give us a good video. I have learned all my magic from you and I can’t wait to see what you have planned for us next Love you dude thank you so much!

For better or worse, I have used this change with a "pick a card, find a card routine". Once I've controlled their card to the top, I can do a double lift, show them the WRONG card, then change it into the RIGHT card in front of their eyes. ("Okay, NOW is that your card?") and clean up while I'm handing their card back to them with my left hand. Fun.

The point being to motivate the change with something beyond "hey watch me change the color of this card!" 🙂

I am learning this to use at the end of the trick where I change the color of the entire deck except for the chosen card. I want to snap change the card to same color as the rest of the deck. I am also looking for a good method to change the card box if anyone knows of a good tutorial for that change.
What I want to end up with is this. The person chooses a card by saying stop as I deal cards face up. The next card is dealt face down in his hand. The spectator sees the card is red. The spectator looks at the card, memorizes it and maybe shows it around then replaces the card anywhere in the deck which I have fanned out. I carefully square the deck and place it in the box in plain sight so everyone can see that there are no tricky moves or deck switches. I hand the box to the spectator, do some fancy patter then have the spectator open the box and look through the deck to discover that every card in the red deck is now yellow except for the chosen card. At this point I would like to snap change the red card to yellow, and if I can find a good method, follow that by changing the box from red to yellow. So, the idea is to start with a red deck which changes to yellow (at Christmas, it would be green) except for the chosen card, turn the chosen red card yellow, the the card box yellow, so I end up with a complete yellow deck and card box.

Ive always done it holding with one finger, but I start holding it with the middle finger, and than as I go into the move I introduce the poining finger and finish it holding it again with one but different finger
PS. How I fooled quite a few magicians with this altrough they all knew it ofc. I held it vertically but not for a short edge, I holded card by a long edge. First Id do a pick a card blabla and I peeked at the card or forced it from the start. Control it to the top, and said with a few cuts I will put it on top. Do a ew false cuts, and do a double. Grab it like a said before and showed them he card.
When they say no, ID turn it toward myself allways holding the grip and look at it and ask what, it aint and than I say the right card, which I peeked altrough I look at the card I showed them.
When they get confused I turn it back toward them and in the process of turning I do the change. THe motion of turning the card really hides the snap, and to them it looks like you looked at one card, asked its not different card, which is a selection, and than you turn it back and it is their card.
Also, its pretty important to do a slow turn toward yourself, so that it doesent look suspicious as if you could do something in that part. They must be sure you are looking at the card you showed them frst. Which you do actually. But youclaim different one.
The confusion, and the turning it back motion really hides the small motion and that moment.

Huge fan of your tutorials in general, but this one simply doesn‘t work for me. No idea what I’m doing wromg, but I’ve ruined a bunch of cards at this point (crumbling/bending them) without ending up with the palmed card in the right position, nor being even close to hiding it from anyone. I’m a beginner, but usually, after an hour or so of practising, I get the basics of a trick down to a point where I’m motivated and eager to practise further. Not today, though. :-/

It's a great fake fail double reveal. Pull the wrong card, look like you failed, and snap the real card right in front of them.
