  • Andy from TCB presents a tutorial discussion on PIR (Panel Impact Ratio). This video shows an easy method to calculate PIR and also other considerations when selecting a Snow Foam Cannon. Big thanks to John Hole from Clean & Shiny for providing emergency detailing products for this review!

Great review, I am pretty new to your channel but I am so impressed with the level of detail you provide and currently working my way through your archive.
    Keep up the good work.

What an eye opener Andy! I now know what PIR is and how to easy it is to calculate it. Gonna make things easier for me to get the correct snow foam measurements now. Cheers

Cheers Karl. Only certain brands use PIR but when they do it's best to do the calculation properly and get things correct. Using too much or too little foam solution can inhibit the product from working as advertised.

    Great video as always.
I prefer the neat product method, using the adjuster to control the PIR. I Calibrate the cannons to produce 5, 4, 3, & even 1% PIR, making a note of the position of the control knob and then, if I want to top up or swap product I don't have to do any dilution.

Great Tip that Shaun. Might even do that myself from now on. Cheers.

That video will open visitors eyes to the realisation of what is also technically needed to get PIR right …. Enjoyed that nice Andrew

Excellent video as always Andy! PIR is a great subject. And even still we aren't seeing that many manufacturers giving PIR recommendations on their snowfoam. But it's such a more accurate way of doing things 👌👌

Many thanks. I agree. The only way to ensure the correct amount of product on the car, factoring the cannon and pressure washer is to calculate it like this. A few more manufacturers are quoting PIR so hopefully we will see more in the future. Cheers.

Great video again. I keep saying I'll do this but I know when I upgrade my pressure washer I'll have to do it all again. Fun fact 1ltr of water weighs 1kg BUT 1ltr of A1 jet fuel only weighs 0.80kg, had to double check I heard a pilot say it, looked it up and he was right 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

This is something I've always wanted to do but never got round to (maybe I couldn't be bothered 😕) but I definitely will do this soon. Always worth pointing out, the AG lance will use less water, for those that are on a meter.

Lee. A great point about water usage. Didn't think of that. Cheers.

Hiya buddy. The hand sprayer is from a company called Alien Magic. I am not sure they still sell them but will keep looking and drop a link if I find one available.

Did you manage to get 1 litre in autoglym? Ive tried at 900ml couldn't get 1 litre in but my calculations came at 900ml around 14 litres so around 560ml product and 340ml water doesnt look right having more product than water?
