Do you mix the paints with 2-soft and still can dissolve it with water?
Im a little confused!!! Do you use the angelus paint for the colors as well or just for the base and then regular acrylic on top??? Any tips would be great
Beautiful shoes! If I wanted to paint a baseball cap, would I wash it beforehand, and how to seal it?

Just the prep. You can do either. I like my method and haven’t had any issues with paint cracking !

I know that this was a while ago, but if you were still wondering, yes. You will mix the 2 soft with all colors and have to heat/blow dry between each layer.
If we want to keep the base color of the canvas shoe can you apply 2-soft and it will dry clear?

Great work!! I learned a lot & I’m hoping you could give me some advice 😅. I recently painted my vans using angelus acrylic, but I didn’t know about using the soft medium in the beginning nor the heating. How will this affect my work? Is there any way I can prevent the cracking if that’ll be the cause?
Thank you! And I’m not sure how that will look with wear. I don’t think there’s anything can prevent it once the paint is on . But angelus paint has a great texture im sure it’ll hold up well
Awesome video! Im looking to paint my own shoes. I have a lot of liquitex acrylic paint. Could I use that instead of craft paint on the shoes?
Should work just as good! I do like to add a fabric medium like GAC 900 or Angelou’s 2 soft to thin the paint and ensure it doesn’t crack.

You can do either. I usually just put 2soft on the prime layer and have had beautiful turnouts with no cracking

So my most comfortable shoes seem to have a wide front box. I have some Keds and other brands which are comfortable forms for me that look like boxes on my petite feet. I would like to

Would a all purpose sealer work for this ???I have some delta creative all purpose sealer , I used on my acrylic painting , terra cotta pots , wood surface that I’ve painted
I’m actually not sure! i would stick to something that can be used on fabrics to ensure it works the best.

You can do either. I just prep the first base layer with 2 soft

Thank u ! You can use either. I just add a fabric medium that is heat set. It thins the paint and helps it adhere to the fabric without cracking.

So only do the 2 soft mix when applying the first white layers, so there is no need to mix the 2 soft when doing detail??????
Manveer Dosanjh the base and primer layer of white mixed with the 2soft gives it the flexibility it needs to not crack with wear. My results have been great with this method so far ! 🎨☺️
I dont have angelus paint but I have acrylic. is there anything I should note about using normal acrylic paint? also what type of sealer/finisher should I use to protect my work. my main focus is making it waterproof.
PTXCeline hey! acrylic paints work fine, but there’s a possibility the paint will crack with wear and bending of the shoe. That’s why I always use a base with 2 soft medium. Also any sealer would work. Mod podge or krylon carry finishing sprays. Again, I use angelus products because they work so well for me so I can’t be sure about anything else! Hope that helps.

@@chloexiao9100 mod podge has a sealing spray. I heard from other shoe customize that they dont reccomend normal mod podge. but krylon matte finish seems to be the most popular option. I managed to find it at a local craft store

I think I messed up my daughters canvas shoes. I totally forgot to base coat the canvas shoes. I was wondering why the paint looks dull.....should I acetone the paint off? or paint over it....I used angelus glitter too....fml

I’ve personally never had any cracking with Angelus
How do you clean your edges if you get an under leak from the tape?
What I typically do is use rubbing alcohol, or acetone on a Q-tip it comes right off. And actually I was painting some shoes last week and I got some on the outer part towards the bottom and I didn’t have any alcohol or acetone handy because I wasn’t home and I use hand sanitizer and that works just as well 🤣

Did you mix each of the color with a 50/50 mix of Too Soft?
I don’t i just do the base and heat set it. Have had great results. But you can !

Slightly yes. It’s seals your work. They do sell water and stain protectant that would be a great extra barrier of protection 👌🏾
