    I love Florida. It has been great to me in the 7 years i've been here. Came here as a homeless heroin addict trying to turn my life around, met my wife, had our child and we just bought a house in Venice 5 minutes from the beach.
    There's no other place I'd rather be. Coming here literally saved my life.

    Yes, the forgettables is very important and something we did not plan for when we moved to Georgia from Florida. You'd be suprised how fast even things you need add up. So we made sure to add it when we moved back to Florida several years later. We always have to by new curtains because the old ones never fit the new place. We have had to by blinds as well.

And then when your states are literally burning then the people there start fleeing to other states and believe me not all but a lot of them continue to vote the same way from where they came from and it just boggles my mind.

    One big cost for us being a Disney family and the parks being 50 percent of the reason we wanted to be here is annual passes and park money which is roughly 1800 per person for annual passes. We go to the parks to grab a ride, snack and get in some walking 2-4 times a week. Which also reminds me that the car registration in florida for a Disney family also includes a Disney license plate which is a nice perk. Makes you feel less bad about spending that registration money lol. Quick money savings note from the north east if you’re coming from NY the uhaul costs can be reduced if you drive to Virginia or Pennsylvania to pick up the truck, it can save about 1200 big ones. You guys are great love your videos ! Really helped my move.

    • @LatinGurl2002

    • @elvismorales9151
      @elvismorales9151 Před 2 lety

      We did everything the same week once we arrived. Need the new license for the resident passes and you need to register and return your old state plates in a short time frame. Everyone’s budget is different so at a minimum license and registration costs will be needed quickly upon arrival which I think was 65 for the license and between 200-400 per vehicle provided you come from a state with higher sales tax if not you pay the difference of the sales tax for your vehicle too. I think all in all moving, tags, license, rental costs if you aren’t buying right away and passes for the fam and incidentals were about 25k all in for a family of 4 So budget according to you expectations and enjoy !

    So most places require you to have a job in Florida before you can rent or buy a place in Florida.

    If you have 2 cars you could pay for a car mover, rent a u haul and tow the other vehicle.
    We’ve moved across the pacific to Hawaii, then coast to coast.
    The biggest advice is take an inventory of everything you think you want to take….and try to destroy the sunk cost fallacy as well as emotional attachment.
    Donate the things you don’t need….sell some stuff. Then just bring the things you truly need.
    The smartest thing is to scorch the earth. Ship the family heirlooms but move down with nothing.
    Think of a person who spends 15k to move items that most likely can be purchased new after the move.
    Just get into a minimalist mind set before the move.
    I think the only thing that is a necessity is mattresses and clothes. Fit it all in a small pod and just buy what you need when you get there.

    Hi guys now I need your honest opinion on this. So we are going to be in the Clearwater area around March 1st with my husband's new job and everyone has said if all possible to rent starting off until we can get out and explore neighborhoods and schools, etc..So, my question is would you think staying in our camper would be a good idea for the 1st 2 months 🤔?! We just have one child (6 yrs old) our camper is newer and about 33 ft. It's gonna be tight quarters but thought it might work for a couple months instead of selling it now?! Plz give me your thoughts. I was thinking of homeschooling my daughter for the last 2 months of her school year instead of switching this late in the year?! Also, I was so excited about moving to Florida and now that we get closer to the date my anxiety is off the hook with all the things that could go wrong 🙉😅is this normal 😅. • @FloridaWithFive
      @FloridaWithFive  Před 2 lety +1

      We love the idea of living in the camper for a couple short months rather than finding a short term rental! Also, at your daughters age, we don’t really see a downside to homeschooling for the first couple of months-especially if you are living in the camper!
      The anxiety is normal! Make sure to catch Lindsey’s new segment she is going to do starting next Friday. She will be going live around lunchtime to talk with the ladies! 😊
