Atouk is madly in love with Tonda's woman, Lana (Barbara Bach). He even ignores the advances of the lovely Tala (Shelley Long) and sets his mind to finding some way of wooing Lana. Barbara Bach and Ringo Starr got married the same year this movie was released.
They are still married to this day.(41 years)
They met during the filming of this movie, fell in love and got married.
They appeared together on "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson in May 1981.
The movie took two months to film.
Shelley Long also married in 1981 and would go on to star in "Cheers" a year after this movie release.
You're welcome
hy ^^
So he finally chose Lana...
And was there anything that Ringo did not invent lol

This was my mom’s favorite, what she called “the best worst movie ever made”. Watching this makes me laugh and ache for her, all at the same time
I ache for your mom too
try 'The Room (2003)' next, that's what I call 'the best worst movie ever made' from the unique sensations it gives you alone, quite avant-garde i'd say, as it was shot in both film and digital cameras
Your mom was exactly right. This, Saturday the 14th and maybe a little Xanadu!
I ache for the time period in general. We've lost so much since then. The 70s and early 80s, were the PEAK of human history! I miss it SO MUCH, such that I probably need counseling. Trying to explain it to younger people is impossible. They don't know what life without surveillance cameras is like, they don't even question it. I'd sell my soul to re-live 1970-1986!
“The Gods must be Crazy” that’s a good one too
Loved it in 81 when I was 32. Still love it at 73! Ringo was the great talent of the fab four. He is also the only one who doesn't have a big ego. A class act for sure.

Same, I watched this movie by accident in 2009 (Internet boom) when I was 8 years old, then my parents told me "hey look, it's Ringo Starr from the Beatles" and it became part of my childhood. I guess my childhood was totally different in comparison of my friends, I was raised in different cultural decades.
Now I'm 22 and still feel nostalgic.
With the ego, thats not true. George was always in the background, doing things which without the Beatles never would have come that far.
@@deltaps3youtube184".com bubble" was between 1995-2000....

I wish you much success in life!!!
I didn't know him personally, but I think that George Harrison was a pretty down to Earth guy.
The dialogue alone is unforgettable!
Can't agree more!
Jhagjhag
Hidius very urban
What dialogue? There was barely any.
@@Abuamamthat's precisely the joke.
A very underrated film, saw this as a kid and was laughing
joke movie
I was laughing too,we smoked a couple of joints before going into the theater 😎🤪
The only Japanese guy in the film; name: Nuke.
Desternillándose no destornillándose.
Siiiiiiii, muuuuuy cierto !!!
hiban a verla por ringo star ,
How did you know the history of this humans live this day in October 9th 😂😂😂? What a disgusting movie,Failed movie, silly movie, How did you kno this day in this month😂😂😂human live before millions years know the day history 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Good old fashion humor. This is what the world needs today. No faul language or violence. Just simple plain comedy. More of this please.

No - this world urgently needs fearless, BS-exposing geopolitical satire - not yet more dumb, Neanderthal bunk like this.

Yeah faul language is horrible!😑
I think you missed one instance of proto-foul-language when the guy got the crab pincer in the nose. 😄
I remember seeing it in movie theaters. Every showing was sold out, and we ended up watching the last show at 9 p.m. It was well worth it. We were laughing so hard that I didn't finish my snacks. We had a great time driving back as we repeatedly chanted "Monshaa" at my dad!! Sweet memories!!!
One of my favorite movies as a kid. I miss the 80's.
Age 74 Masters level geology studies. The Monsas and cooking technique were spot on. I Love Geology and Ringo and this Creation story gone wild. I have fossils from this film.
I was 6 in 1981 when I first saw this masterpiece. My folks got a big kick out of me declaring that this was absolutely the best film ever made.
This movie is in my top 50. Totally unique and rewatchable. A laugh a minute. Big fan here!
Thanks for this upload. One of the funniest comedies ever produced and easily understood by anyone in the world regardless of what language you speak.
Una película sencilla pero llena de humor 😅. Gracias por compartirla
I'm guessing this got so-so reviews back then, and I see now that it's one of those films that it's easy to just not 'get'. Actually brilliant and very well done. Thank you RETRO.
You are very welcome Les!
also thanks retro ^^ i love the film ^^
Not to mention informative. Now I know where Ugg boots came from! Man they have been around for quite some time.
@@AutoCrete yes it was ahead of it's time lol
Yes, I was at the first showing at our theater and it lasted about a week.
Very few understand "B" movies.
I took my girlfriend on our first date to this movie. It was the first showing at Christown mall in Phoenix. As a bonus being the first showing everyone got a copy of the language and a cheesy script.
Brings back a lot of smiles, right up there with "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" and "Heavy Metal".
This was the first time I ever saw Caveman. Ringo can act! at least we'll enough for comedy. Ringo is a rather short man. Looks like the cast had a great time. Hilarious movie.
As a child he had a burst appendix and was hospitalized for a long time, then a few years later was in a sanitarium for tuberculosis. He has some of his intestines removed and has a sensitive stomach, can only eat certain things. He might have grown taller if not for those 2 things. He's grateful for having the life he's had.
This is such a hilarious movie, so well done and great acting. Ringo Starr is not only a great drummer and musician but also a wonderful comedian. The man was truly blessed with so many talents, he is just incredible. Great cast of actors, they looked like they had a wonderful time making this classic. Worth watching several times....
So that's how it happened a Zillion years ago. Great, so that's sorted then. In all that time, Ringo hasn't aged a bit.. Brilliant film.. more like it, please..
Zillion years B.C. 9th of Oct.
Cool jam session though.
What i like the most in this kind of movie is the realisme of the special effect 😂😂❤ belive it or not when i was a kid i was actualy scared of it 😂😂😂😂
Loved this film! Once we had an unofficial staff party and invited the spanish-speaking coworkers and we played the VHS of this. Everyone had a blast. Slapstick, screwball comedy for the 80s.
Agree with you Chester! What a brilliant movie!
Cool
Not much to translate in this movie lol
Great casting, fantastic costumes, wonderful plot, dazzling dialogue. Starring my favorite rock and roller. What's not to like??
Dazzling dialogue?🤣
Yes, you have to be in a Daze to appreciate it.@@theambivalentps2bloke60
Very sophisiticated themes, these dialogues.
one of the best caveman movies ever
🤣🤣🤣
Agree with you Mario!
Clan of the cave bear
I first saw this movie when it first came out on HBO when I was 16 or 17. My parents were sensitive to my siblings and I watching these type of movies but - somehow - we managed to see it and we were rolling with laughter! I hadn't seen it since back then and it's still VERY funny! 🤣 🤣
I saw it on HBO also but I was 14
Its pretty tame for these types of movies
Your right damn shame
I saw this movie when I was a kid and I still remember it.
I Saw This at The Theater When It 1st Came Out and Couldn't STOP LAUGHING 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂‼️ Have WATCHED Every Time It's Ever Been Shown ANYWHERE..
I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS , THIS MOVIE IS FUNNY. I REMEMBER WATCHING IT AS A KID AND LOVIN IT. GOOD OL COMEDY
I was born in 1980, and it's always funny to me how many of my favorite childhood movies starred Dennis Quaid. I grew up watching this, Enemy Mine, Jaws 3 (I was a kid. It was 3D), and my personal favorite: Inner Space!😂
I saw this in the theatre with my best friend when it was released, I had just turned 12. This is the first time I’ve watched it since then. Still funny, they must’ve had a blast making this film. Thanks for the good quality upload.
This was actually really funny, especially for brilliant writing and dialogues 😂😂
Yes, and never cheesily over-the-top or in-your-face, but applied tastefully.
I loved this movie so much when I was a kid. Thank you for sharing 💚🌻
I have loved this movie ever since I was 5 years old. I find it radical and funny.
So cool to come across this movie.
I dated John Matuszak after meeting him on another movie set in Petaluma.
Such a wonderful kind soul.
♥️R.I.P. JOHN♥️
Why you very fortunate girl !
I’m mid 50’s now, saw this back in ‘81 and have never been able to get the theme song from this out of my head. Now I have to watch this again because why not. Lol😂
Majority of film critics and historians today feel Chariots of Fire robbed this film at the 1982 Oscars. At least Ringo did win best Actor, and the film won best set design, cinematography, editing, wardrobe, screenplay, sound engineer, and director.

Atuk and Lana still zog-zog after almost 40yrs. I remember my brother and I were obsessed with this movie as kids. I memorized the entire movie. And we would always make ourselves eggs after the egg scene. Good times.
This was my little brothers and my favorite movie as well, we were probably 6 & 7 at the time. We used to go around the neighborhood only using that goofy and very limited "caveman" language which would probably be annoying to most mothers, but we had just moved from Hawai'i to Florida so my mom was grateful that it broke us from using the Hawai'ian pidgin. I still don't get why the pidgin bothered her so much, I thought it was cool then and 40 something years later I still do, just like this movie.
@@philmckrackin8303 may I ask what is Hawai’ian pidgin?
@@swifty1969 It's english, but heavily accented and mixed with the local slang. I used to hear it being spoken sometimes on Dog the bounty hunter, (everyone has their guilty pleasures) and the original Magnum PI. Oh not sure if you know this or not but it's pronounced pigeon, like the bird.
@@philmckrackin8303 oh! ok....thanks!
I haven’t seen this in so many years. It’s even more hilarious 😂 thanks for this 🍻
"Atuk", Laar", "Thonda", "uul", "Macha", "Lana" todo está clárisimo... 🤣🤣
It must had been so fun being part of the cast in this 😝
Je =)
I 💕😘 this movie never get tired of it it's one of my favorites
I SAW THIS AS A KID AS WELL,IT WAS FUNNY AS HECK BACK THEN, AND STILL IS TODAY'S MOVIES JUST AREN'T AS FUNNY AS THOSE BACK IN THE DAY!!! WE NEED MORE OF THESE MOVIES TODAY, BECAUSE OF THE SAD PATHETIC TIMES THAT WE LIVE IN!!!
Brilliant.
I see good ole Dennis qaide in there too..brilliant!!
Evan Kim should have had many more movies
remember "Fistful of Yen" masterpiece in Groove Tube.
funny and capable.
thanks for the post !
Gotta love that dinosaur 🦕🦕😆. Need a laugh, here you go!
I loved every "macha" that appeared in this excelent movie! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Loved this film as a kid - it was like a comedy piss take of the more serious Harryhausen Jason/Sinbad/Perseus films with a blend of Hammers sexy One Million Years BC... great film.
Saw this in the joint in 81. Film screen in the chapel. Never forgot the discovery of fire...or the jam session in the cave.
Love you J.M.! (glad you got to chill/not my level/glad yer free & reporting/AWESOME movie!)
Ringo Starr actually fell in love during this movie and eventually got married and as far as I know are still happily married to this day.
loved it years ago . . . loved watching it again in 2022 .
I saw this as a kid in the drive in theater. Loved it then and still love it. Thank you for uploading this clasic!!
There is a reason why I have watched "The Spy Who Loved Me" more times than any other Bond movie. Need I say more? 😉
I love this movie when I was a kid
Based on a truth story I heard. Thanks for this historic documentary.
I really love this movie, even the Dinasaur's have great character.
My favorite movie as a kid.
This cracks me up, every time I watch it. There's nothing funnier then seeing a stoned dinosaur.
42:00 This rockin' ensemble wouldn't be out of place on that Endor moon...🌑
That’s what I thought. Lol.
The fact that this movie has no recognizable dialogue
And Ringo
And Shelley Long
So sweet
Pure genius
🍀🍀🍀
The Film where Ringo Star would meet his future wife Barbara Bach.
Desdes Ushuaia Argentina
Uga uga!
Me ❤️❤️ machas.
Me ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Atouk!!
This movie kick started the 80s craze for slapstick comedy as the 80s were full of great comedy action filled flicks. Police Academy, Weird Science, Short Circuit, ect. Caveman is truly ultimate Comedy Classic of the 80s !!!
A story older than time itself, starring a star who's story will be known for just as long.
It's a story straight out of our current times. 😅
Ooooooh damn. I haven't seen this movie since I was in my teens. I used to have it on VHS. This was a hilarious movie. I'm gonna have to find a new copy now.
i saw this movie a gazillion times as a kid .... loved it
I saw this in the theater when I was 8 years old with my sister,it was the greatest thing I ever saw then, and still is now.😂
A totally blitzed dinosaur. Now that is how movies should be made.
Saw this on HBO as a kid back when HBO was the caca. I still love Tala.
Wow...saw this at a drive-in in '81 at 19 year old, at 63 this movie stills holds up!
My gods, they were so young, to think we nearly lost Ringo in 79, this movie is still a funny watch.
The way this has become my comfort movie needs to be studied
I saw this movie in our local drive-in with my parents! Thanks for sharing!
This movie has no known language
Yet we understand
💚💚💚
I really love this movie 🍿
This made my day, I can't even put into words how much I loved this movie when I was a kid. Still not sure how it wound up on my suggestions but I'm glad it did, what's crazy is two days ago out of the clear blue this movie popped into my head and I was wondering if maybe I could find a dvd of it somewhere. I guess the universe either worked in my favor or simply took pitty on me, either way thank you for the upload, definitely bookmarking this page.
Shows you how Google is reading people's minds!
I remember seeing this with my Dad and brother the first day showing...we loved it and we loved watching it with a full house i miss that now.😮
For no reason i found this on my feed and i end up liking it.
Great Ringo and casting!I loved this movie.❤️❤️❤️
Wow beautiful movie and very very funny 😂 greetings from Mexico City 🇲🇽

Take 90 minutes out of your life grab a big fat Doobie and enjoy. When I saw this 40 years ago I thought how dumb but watching this now its a slapstick masterpiece. Ringo and Shelly Long were great.
And way better acting then Wakanda Forever
So immersive, i feel like i was actually there on October 9, 1Z BC
I have relatives that still live like this.
I still have this on DVD in my permanent Beatle library. Ringo surprised a lot of people as an actor. Not me. Still a fan. Peace and Love!
My favorite "Go To" movie at bedtime. Can't thank you enough guys.
