I have watched some of Smt. Geeta Chandran's "works", an amazing and very accomplished dancer (as evidenced by the titles she holds), a very good teacher too. I have also watched a few other videos under these series. Can I please know the names of students in these video series? They seem to be accomplished dancers themselves, learning to be even more accomplished under the guidance of Smt. Geeta Chandran. I would like to have the joy of watching their "works' as well. Dear geeta mam, I have counted the pancha jaati. it comes to 96. and yet comes to taala. please explain. Shouldnt it be 128 beats. in 2 chaturashra jaati triputa taala cycles?
Hi Charles, how are you calculating the Pancha Jathis? If you do 3+4+5+7+9=28. If you repeat each jathi four times, that gives you 112, which is divisible for 4 or 8.
Such musical knowledge is rare. Thank you this helps a young teacher like me.

ahhhhh..okay. thank you. but when we dance it in adi, we do 64 x 2. but i realised i left out part of the korvai. thank you.
we must complete the cycle of 32 x4. but yes i overlooked a part of the korvai.
