I got a SQ1 PR single of 27, but I had to get and E1 because the judge forgot to say 8 & 12 seconds, and it was a 57.

A judge genuinely took the cover off when I was setting up my camera and started solving my cube

I was in the middle of 3x3 and my juge was playing with a cube while I was in the middle of the slove, then his cube popped all of my table and messed up my whole solve
That judge got justice
I was doing my first blindfold solve in competition and this usually takes me ~10 minutes to memorize the cube. After the 10 minute mark, I was still memorizing the cube and the judge told me that time was up, I didn't realize that there was a time limit and ended up wasting 10 minutes of someone's time.
i was judging a kid solving skewb and he did a bad algorthim so after i showed him the correct algorithim and his cube exploded

I was at a comp like a year ago or so and during inspection, somebody next to me got a good solve on 4x4 and my judge decided to just stop what he was doing and congratulate him. Not just a "congratulations!" but they literally talked about the whole solve. Meanwhile, I'm sitting there not knowing if I should stop and ask for a resolve or just go on 'cause I was pretty sure I had passed the 15 second mark. Smh.
Not quite sure if I can blame him since it was a young kid, but still, come on dude.

This reminds me of one time I was judging, I was looking down with the stopwatch waiting to hear "ready" but a solid like 20 seconds past and I heard nothing so I looked up and see the most frustrated face. I wasn't sure if she just has a very quiet voice or couldnt speak, she was just nodding at me the whole time

Once, I forgot to look at the stopwatch and the person was still inspecting and it said 14 so I said GO! And then apologised *while the person was solving*

I've never went to a comp but I was solving a megaminx in front of my sister and you see I had a corner twist. So I did what any other person would do, get mad in my head for a moment and twist the corner to where it's supposed to be, my sister see's this and says "that's cheating you can't do that!" And I spent 20 minutes explaining to her how twisty puzzles work and how a twisted corner was impossible by normal means.
This was the BJudge reaction sequel/threequel we didn't need, but deserved ♥️
Once a guy came to solve 2x2 and as he was sitting he said "Yes, 2x2 time" and I took the cover off when he said yes 😬. After the solve he just said it was his fault and it's ok. Also in a comp where one guy on my class competed for the first time, during fmc he went to ask something from the delegate literally like FIVE times or so. Also when he was judging me for the first time he said 3, 2, 1 go and then lifted the cover. When I started the timer he said "lets go!" Later in that comp during megaminx 1st round he was taking pictures of me from the watching area and my judge started like waving at him and stuff so that distracted me from getting my first sub-50 official megaminx solve and I got a 50. Luckily in the megaminx finals I got a 45.06 NR2 single. Also in that comp a judge had my cube and the cubecover literally off the mat near the other side of the table and the worst thing was that he was a random foreigner and I didn't know what language he spoke so I couldn't tell him to put the cover on the mat. For some reason that distracted me and I got a bad single because I was just thinking what that judge was doing.
My judge was too busy solving HIS cube rather than judging me.
At a recent competition, I was doing pyraminx finals and I was called up to a table where a guy brought 4 non-wca puzzles to use while judging. They were loud, large, and very distracting. I ended up getting a sub-8 average which is still good but I almost plus-2ed a 9.93 because of him.
I was a bld judge at my first comp. I asked the dude who i was judging if he was ready and if he wanted me to lift the cover. He probably thought i was stupid, so he had to explain everything to me and I didnt want to be a bld judge after that.

One time, I was doing 3x3 first round. I accidentally dropped my glasses, so I said "Oops" in a quiet voice. Somehow, the judge thought I said ready, and lifted the cover. Again, I come back to a different station, and the judge, around 5, said 3. 2. 1. GO! and continued to lift the cover. The scramblers were slow, so when second group started, I was still on solve 2. I got a 21 average though, which was good for me!

An incident that happened to me not long ago:
Me and two other guys were having just a regular 3x3x3 cubing match when a few other people just showed up and started commenting on how good my cube looked and so on. It really annoyed me.
So, on my first comp, I ALWAYS made sure to see the cube's feel after the solve. Once, someone came to solve a 4x4 and at the end, I somehow disturbed the last 2 layers (I didn't know how to solve 4x4) so the WCA celibate had to come over and fix the cube. Legit was sweating.

I once was solving and when I was done my judge signed all the boxes and I said," Ummm, your not supposed to sign all the boxes you know," and he was like," How else am I supposed to entertain myself?
The very first time I judged, I accidentally signed for her too. Luckily, she was cool about it and just told me I wasn't supposed to do that so I wouldn't do it again.
Another time I embarrassed myself was when I put a +2 on a guy's 2x2 solve because I thought he said to do so. I wasn't really paying attention so I didn't really question it. When he saw, he looked at me with such disbelief. He could've murdered me right then and there and the look on his face is literally imprinted on my dark soul.

My worst experience would be from earlier this year, where I was on solve three of my 3x3 average. I was on track to break a PR average, except my judge saw his friend. They started talking about the scramble while I was in the middle of my solve, so I had to tell both of them to stop talking, and I had my worst solve in a long while. It was made better by the dirty look judge's friend gave me while I was waiting to finish my average

At my first competition I got to judge for Felix in 3x3, twice I was going crazy in my head and I went back to my friends and we were so shocked

Ohhh this one time i was solving a cube and the judges sister walked up and was like HEY SO I JUST GOT AN 11.82 and my judge was actually good and said something along the lines of "Shut up this guy is solving" and i will never forget that experience

at my first comp i did the spamming moves during someones solve and at my second comp i wasnt rly thinking and a kid asked me a question and I shouted across the table during someones 5x5 solve it was the worst feeling
My judge thiught I stopped the timer and plus 2ed me. Then I got a DNF
I had a round where only once did the judge wait for me to say ready, I wasn't bothered because I was about to say ready for them anyway but I gave him a reminder afterwards

The first time I judged someone got a plus 2 and I was like wait how do i write that?
In my first comp I was judging someone in the 3x3 round and I didn't realize I hadn't restarted the timer, and when I realized, the guy was already solving the cube, ofc that guy got an extra
One kid was asking me if I was color neutral during a 3x3 finals solve, could've been a good 11, but that messed me up and got a 14
One time at the end of the solve the cube was outside the mat, i didn't give the guy a +2 and i still hesitate about it if it was against the rules or not.

I was judging at a comp and there was this little girl, probably about 5-10, was about to solve when I realized the judge didn’t sign on the solve before. So I called up someone and told them about it, I think Blake Thompson, and he had this one lady look for the girls judge for a solid 3 minutes. I felt awful for the little girl.
I didn't start the timer once and my judge didn't even notice until I got a bit mad at myself.
Well there was there that one massive judge fail in MonkeyLeague.
i was doing 2x2 but i didnt want to record, and the judge was like, "dude, you should really record this one, would recommend it"
One time when I was judging 2x2 I was not sure if it was a +2 or not so I touched the cube without letting a delegate look. Then they gave an extra attempt but it ruined his average.
Don't worry bro, I've seen a kid try and pull the cube out of a random competitor's hand mid-solve. Trust me, the judges aren't as bad as that kid.

During 2x2 I was using a warmup cube and the judge snatched it from me and said “stop it I want to judge Patrick”. So basically, Patrick Ponce was at a comp and this kid wanted to judge him so he was trying to make us go quicker

Lol at a mini comp in my country the judges kept forgetting to reset the timers after each solve. So after inspection I nearly started the solve but I quickly realised the timer was not reset. I quickly pressed the reset button and started the solve. The judge just looked at me and didn’t say anything.

At one comp, my GoPro was set up on the table, and then the judge lifted up the cover and it hit my gopro and it almost knocked my GoPro off the table. But I can’t touch the camera in inspection so I had to tell the judge how I wanted the camera to be set up. It was 4x4 and it was a good scramble so I just let it go.
How do you sign up to be a judge? I am going to my first comp this January (hopefully)
You get given a group to compete and judge in so you just sit at a table and wait for the competitor if judging

One time I was judging BrodyTheCuber and I thought I heard him say he was ready but he didn't and I accidentally pulled the cover off. My worst experience with someone judging me was a little kid trying to explain everything to me like I had never been to a competition before and he was very annoying
yesterday at my first comp i forgot to hit reset for the inspection timer and the person got a resolve
