I had one for over two years. It was 21 inches long. Took me eight months to find a GI to change it to a button. I used to have granulation and pain. I think it’s ridiculous to have a tube dangling there. Can’t go swimming and laying flat is painful. Exercising was also limited. Now I can swim, exercise and lay flat with no problem.

I have to learn how to do this because my mother has a closed esophagus from cancer. I wanted to see it before the nurse demonstrates it. It's a big help. Thanks

She didn’t clean the area before putting the ointment.

I was told to use body temperature fluids. Cold fluids shocks the stomach and slows down digestion.

I have a J Peg Feeding tube in my stomach. I've had mine now since February 7th of this year. I usually have 3 of the siranges ready with water in them to flush my feeding tube out.

Since the tube is not clear, you can't see the debris accumulating on the inside. The nurses said to use gauze, but the written instructions said not to.

Yeah I was blown away at how simple and easy removing my tube. It took about 30 seconds if that.
