@@Landatj No problem mate. It happens a lot with me when you find out people who you haven't heard of in a long time have already passed. I didn't find out Rick Danko (from the Band) had died until I bought 'The Last Waltz' dvd in DVD in 2000 (he died in 1998?). It's sad but all you can do is celebrate these special artists and Millie was special. 100 years from now people will still be dancing to and singing to 'My Boy Lollipop', so she will live on in song and in spirit.

She had a nice , sparkling , outgoing personality that raise your spirit , and that song makes you feel happy , joyful and with glee... I Fell in love with her !
I was born in the late fifties and sixties music passed me by but I always remember this song it was literally the first song that I ever took notice of being a very young child I only ever knew the chorus I drove my mother mad just singing it over and over again RIP millie I love you
Hermoso temaaaaa!!! yo tenia 12 años cuando salió este tema y lo escuchaba con mi mama en el campo en Santiago Temple provincia de Córdoba Republica Argentina!!!
I agree!. sorry she is gone. She has a daughter name Jaelee Small and she is a wonderful singer and writer just like her mother. Just found her music. Here's a link to her music czcams.com/video/v3fzK3f3pGw/video.html. Hope she gets a record deal.
I saw Millie sing this at our local jazz club in 1964 (?). She must have been 15 or 16, and so was only allowed to appear for a short time. I remember thinking that she had a good voice, but it was like a jackhammer - it went right through you. And yes, she was very cute.
Good lawd thats one fine woman.... I'm just discovering her she's truly amazing... She puts other women of her era to shame she should have been much more well known i love her and her music
RIP Millie Small. One of the earliest songs I can remember as a baby when I came to the UK from Kenya. The harmonica break was played by none other than Rod Stewart before he was famous.
Chris is right its not Rod Stewart but he might be wrong with Peter Hogman. I did some poking around after I saw the BBC article (because they also note the Stewart connection ) that she had passed..... "Contrary to legend, the harmonica player was not Rod Stewart but Jimmy Powell of The Five Dimensions (previously a member of The Rockin' Berries). Powell personally asserts that it was he, not fellow Five Dimensions member Pete Hogman, who played this solo, contrary to many citations. ~SOURCES: Richie Unterberger & Bruce Eder, All Music Guide and Wikipedia "
