ZCI Airsoft Inner Barrel Blockage / QC Issues / BB Residue

- Been a lot of reports of bad quality coming from ZCI (since late 2022), mostly BB residue buildup, I've been checking each barrel however on couple found small bit's of metal protruding from the inner surface, this one actually cracked my bore-scope mirror.
I suspect the BB residue build up is down to a decrease in the polishing, I've noticed there's more of cross-hatch pattern from the drilling/lathe on recent inner barrels.
In 2023 I made the decision to get my own barrels made. A few manufacturing issues to iron out but getting there.
Thanks for the scoping I have the same issue on 10% of my zci inner barrel that has chance to leave residue after few shots.
May be I should start making my own bore scope to inspect it myself😂
Yeah you need quite an expensive scope to get a good magnification, also one that has a right-angled mirror
May I use your video as a part of mine for sharing the information for my local follower? This is a great microdiscovery@@xtairsoft
Yep. I have ZCI 6.02mm inner barrels in two of my builds that seems to accumulate BB residue and shards extremely quickly, i'm talking less 500 BBs in one night and I have to clean the barrel. If I don't I start accumulating shards of BBs and get completely random flyers from my RIF. ZCI is a dice roll and they're cheap for a reason.
yep, that's the conclusion so far. you could try lapping the last 60mm or so if that's where the build up is. Try a 6mm wooden stick with some diamond lapping paste - it's a fairly cheap solution - £5
I use Brasso on my inner barrel, but I doubt it could remove that bit of metal.
I tried even extreme coarse lapping grit and it doesn’t make any better😢
@@AirsoftLappingThailand yes to remove that you would need a long sand-paper clamp tool with some something like 600 attached to a drill, then you could lap the barrel once removed, not really worth the effort.
@@xtairsoft Ofcourse!!! That would cost me more than new barrel lol. The second problem would be "Did I really remove that defect?"🤣
@@AirsoftLappingThailand Haha, yes indeed
