    So what do you think about, for now, to get started, the idea here of swapping over a precision pistol to a speed pistol?

      Yep, really looking forward to trying something new here! Plus, the matches are camera friendly too, so that is a plus, more content means more promotion for the shooting sports. #letsgoshooting

    That was nowhere near as complicated as I thought it would be. Thanks for the education, Teach.

      I wish I could say I make it look easy because I have worked and tweak on them for so many years now. But truth is, they are not that complicated and take very few tools. You do learn a couple of tricks that head of future issues, expand the life of parts and make the work easier but all in all, yeah, easy peasy.

    In Dec 2021, I bought a factory 4” Bull barrel Buckmark .22 with compensator at Cabelas, loaded it up and fired it for a function test and it failed to feed 8 times out of approximately 40 rounds. I determined it could be the magazine or Ammo problem, so I ordered two more Browning magazines, $30.00 bucks each, changed the Ammo to CCI, Federal and Winchester, loaded two rounds in each of three magazines and all three failed to feed! The bottom of the bolt face dug into the last cartridge’s lead bullet, and this caused the top cartridge, only to feed half way in the breech! What is the problem and the solutions!? Anyone?

      i hate to hear you having issues with a Bucky. i own many and have seen/ran dozens or maybe hundreds more over the years with no significant issues, from my experience, problems are super rare. that said, we are talking about machines here and also i don't know you experience level so will start with the basics. first, all the screws need to be tight, otherwise you can get issues. this means mainly the barrel screw and the top strap screws. now, be careful with those top scres, they will break and or round with too much force and that isn't a good day cuz you gotta drill em and replace. one tweak i make to mine is to remove the top strap and omit the little washers. if you do this i highly recommend some alluminum anti sieze or any anit seize for that matter. 22 is the dirtiest ammo in existence and so the firearms can stert to get very dirty very quick. make sure the ramp, bolt, bolt and slide are clean as a whistle, polished even and well lubricated often. for me, since we have and used our in competition, like to do at maximum of 500 rounds, yeah, even at a competition, i have a toolbox specifically for my buckmakrs so they can be maintained on the fly. i gotta admit, that while my buckmarks span many, many years, my newest one is a few years old at this point. could there be some sort of new manufacturing thing with current models, yeah, always a possibility. and so that could warranty a conversation with the manufacturer just to run the serials and see if there is anything there. but even brand new firearms can have shaving or burrs or whatever, so cleaning a polishing right from the jump can help with that too. try and check those things, then let me know if you don't get it resolved. but you might wanna try to contact me outside of CZcams commente because this is a very unreliable way to communicate. my websites is linked in every video, as are my other social media accounts, email, etc. i am not hard to find through other more reliable means. best of luck and thanks for the questions.

      Well, you know, when you shorten you barrel from 7.5" to 4.5", you gotta compensate somewhere, right?

    Good luck with that red dot. I've broken 2 of them so far. They are sold under a bunch of different names and can be had between $15 - $35 depending on which name is printed on it. 1st one elevation screw broke, 2nd one illumination knob broke. I keep mine in my bin of random parts now. Sits way too high on my buckmark for my liking anyways. YMMV.

      I have used many of these, all branded with names you know, Barska, Browning, TruGlo, etc. In fact, the Barska on my DPMS has been there for many years, never been touched as far as zero and still hits coke cans at 50 yards. Admittedly that is the only non rimfire I have used these on though. And, not about to recommend one on anything else for sure. As for rimfire, we have several trophies, plaques, ribbons, etc all won using these sights. So, not sure what to say there, maybe there is a difference in use, maybe there is a difference in the brands (which I doubt, although the adjustments seem to not be as good on the really cheaper ones), who knows. As for sitting high, yeah, not a big fan BUT, I start shooting steel challenge a week from tomorrow... gotta start somewhere, you know, can't afford a new pistol. The larger circle with the dot on this is easier to pick up and I think will help until I get used to the swing to that first plate. I come from the world of bullseye, so everything is slow with plenty of time to line up.

    • @ThePants2012
      @ThePants2012 Před 6 lety +1

      CloverTac No doubt. I'm just saying I've had bad luck with them is all. My first one didn't make it through sight in/first use. I returned it through Amazon and got my 2nd one, which after maybe 4 shooting sessions on my buckmark the illumination knob doesn't work past 3. I've found a top strap that is drilled and tapped for many different rmr type dots and that is what I will probably end up going to as that will be the lowest bore axis possible since I won't be stacking a dot on a mount on a pic rail.

      yeah, we finally moved to the Burris Fast Fire III and the Vortex Venom style sights.. and also the cheaper Sightmark shown here. i have a video on the older model Sightmark, THEY SUCK and the reason is the adjustment screws, they have no click stop feature, they just free spin. However, the newer pro series do click with each adjustment, so that helps a lot. i do highly recommend the Venom though, very good stuff. and, on the earlier thing, i have never paid even as little as $35 for one of these, so I gotta wonder if that might be an issue... same design but maybe better material, maybe stronger material, yeah, I know, maybe, maybe, maybe. but your issues do have me wondering, you are not the only one to have issues, lots do. but it makes no sense that I have had such good luck for so long now... something has to be there right?
