    Omgosh, thank you so much for this video! I'm very glad I found you and I'm definitely going to be subscribing! I'm just getting into crafting with foam and, though I've made something in the past with your basic craft foam, I had no idea how many different kinds of foam are out there! The way you've laid out the information and outlined the pros and cons of each type is very helpful and easy to understand. I have a feeling I'll be referring to your video quite often in my foam crafting learning journey! So, thanks again!
    Edit: I'm just finishing the video, but holy shop vac you are talented!!

    Hello! Thank you so much for this video! I was wondering, do you know of any good foam tubes that would move similar to half-cooked spaghetti? I need something semi-floppy to use as a base for manually moveable appendages and I was wondering if you knew anything that could help

    This is an awesome video. Very informative, Thankyou! As a beginner it was very hard to know what type of foam to buy. I myself also started out with a both the square floor mats and a big roll of floor mat that has that exact pattern on it. I made my first prop but didn't enjoy sanding it. It was cheap and what I could get easily in Australia. Had no idea that you could even do that with expanding foam, wow.

    • @SynergyCraft
      @SynergyCraft  Před 3 lety +1

      So glad you found this helpful! The eva foam made specifically with cosplayers in mind is sooooo much better than the floor mats with print on them. Total game changer!

      @@SynergyCraft I made my wasp helmet not with foam specifically for cosplayers but it at least was flat on both sides so much easier. Won't be buying the floor mat rolls again once I use it up. Going to try some foam from Lumins Workshop next time.

    Ok! Idk if you can help me but I really need some help! Haha! I’m making a silicone mermaid tail, the fluke is made of vinyl and silicone attached to a monofin and the body of it is neoprene wetsuit material, I want to have some foam inside of it between 2 different layers of neoprene to wrap the body and hide the bend of my knees and ankles and such, what kind of foam can be fully submerged in water and swim in it? And that wouldn’t end up smelling

    • @SynergyCraft
      @SynergyCraft  Před 4 lety +2

      That's a tricky one... most foams usually used in cosplay wouldnt be a good choice, but I think if you were to use more neoprene there it might be your best bet :) sorry I couldn't be more of assistance with that one!

    Hi I am new to cosplaying. I’m attempting to make a full body Fnaf Cosplay. Of Bonnie. [a rabbit animatronic] but haven’t really been confident of it so far. Do you have any tips?

    • @SynergyCraft
      @SynergyCraft  Před 4 lety +2

      Hey there! Making a cosplay of Bonnie is a big project, but with plenty of time, patience, and good research you can totally do it! It's likely you will need some Upholstery Foam (one of the few foams I didnt cover here, oops!) and EVA foam to make that. I would recommend looking up how fursuits are made, as well as some videos on CZcams on how others have built their FNAF costumes. I personally havent built any full body suits like that yet, but here are a couple videos to get you started. Good luck on your build!

    I wish you covered colours a little more. How do you decide if you’re going to use black, white, or grey EVA to make something?

    • @SynergyCraft
      @SynergyCraft  Před rokem

      The color of foam is pretty irrelevant to the final result if there is primer/paint involved, which 99% of the time there probably will be. Picking foam would be more about the thickness and how that affects the build rather than the color

    For the staff you made with Great Stuff, is there anything inside that staff to give it stability? Like pvc pipe or anything at all?

    • @SynergyCraft
      @SynergyCraft  Před 5 měsíci

      Yes! I used insulation foam board for the center. I cut out the shape/silhouette of the staff and then used great stuff on both sides of it. I had to wait for the spray foam to dry before I flipped it over and applied it to the opposite side. Hopefully that makes sense

    Is it possible to cover xps foam with paper mache? I tried before, but after it dried, the paper peeled away from the foam. Should I try to do a coat of white glue on the foam before the paper mache layer?

    • @SynergyCraft
      @SynergyCraft  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes, you definitely can cover XPS with mache, white glue put down first will secure it :)
