- Here I try my hand at reviewing a brand new car, a 2019 Mazda MX5 RF Club Edition. The car was loaned to me for a day to do a taste ride, to see the differences between the 2019 RF Club and my very own mx5 miata.

Thank you for the video, I’ve watched just about every video of yours as I’ve been very interested in purchasing one of these. I can now say thanks to you and your channel I, today, purchased a left over late 2017 (registered 2018) RF red manual GT for a fantastic price here in Australia. Looking forward to some good new content. Btw I decided to not go for the 2019 as the 2017 fitted me just fine, and I figured the power isn’t important as it’s not suppose to be fast to be fun. Obviously that decision saved me thousands too. May add the reverse camera with the savings. I had to mention this as you just so happen to release the video as I was sitting in the dealership. Be safe my friend.

Finally a club edition in PH! A little set back in Mazda PH's part for not including cruise control for a 2.6 million peso car. But still, those wheels and color made the car fresh again! Good review Sir! Godspeed! :)

Can’t enjoy it fully in Manila, the traffic is crazy, that coming from a MTA bus driver in NYC 😂.. cooled seats should standard on all cars there .. the heat 🥵 . Great video and very detailed 👍 I’ll check out your other videos

How bout the auto and manual part? Doesn't go detail in that area... which more worth it or more suitable in?
Didn't make it thru the edit since its also discussed in an upcoming video. In a nutshell, manual is waay better in terms of fun and engagement. But if daily driven or if its your only car and you live in really bad traffic areas (like me!) Then the Auto is a great option.
At 7:35 mins you can see the "P" in the gear indicator... so not the manual.

Kinda surprised that the Ph spec MX-5 RF Club edition doesn't have Front Strut bars. Does the Recaros come with heated seats?
When I recently got my 2018 MX-5 RF MT, I was surprised that it even came with heated leather seats and Front strut bar, both of which were not mentioned in every published spec sheet i have come across into.
The RF Club has heated Recaro seats as well. Even my MT soft top didn't have the front strut bar, not that it needed it, since I didn't notice any performance improvement when I added my Cusco front brace.
The MANUAL RF comes with BILSTEIN SUSPENSION AND STRUT BARS...the automatic doesnt have those

It looks like a very refined car.
The Brembo and socks are in club editions equipped with the sport package. You can get it. Your dealer just ordered that club edition without the sport package . They are not all like the one you have.

Is the wind noise negligble when top down at cruising speed?
marc clasara at 100km/h speeds and higher, wind noise is unbearable. Top down, windows up, it hurts the ears. Top down, windows down, it is still loud, but not as bad. The soft top is quieter with top down at highway speed.
Do you know where I can browse for used cars in the Philippines online? We don't have Mazdas in Korea and I am thinking to buy an NC hardtop auto from the Philippines, then possibly restore it fully before shipping it to Korea (need to own it for 3 months or more before legally being able to import the used car)
You may try OLX.ph or even Facebook groups like MX5 Philippines, Miata Manila, etc.

I am expecting next year 2020 if not next generation this Mazda MX-5 Miata also known as Eunos Roadster in Japan will have 230 horse power with 0-60 4.7 0-100 11 and 1/4 mile in 12 seconds. With its weight and with that high power for a MX-5 this car can achieve it. The top speed should be 260 kph. This is the time we long time fans of the MX-5 to have a high power MX-5!

This RF Club may be the best variant we get for now, Mazda PH is very quiet when it comes to future variants.
Doesn't matter if they are Brembo or Tokico calipers, you are just buying the name of the Brembo brand, akin to buying Versace versus Levi's , they perform just as well, it's the type of pads that truly matters.
While the brake pads themselves matter, calipers can also matter as larger calipers that can house larger pads to make more contact with the rotors will slow the car down faster. I'm actually not sure if the brembos mazda offers on the mx5 are larger than the stock brakes or if you're just paying for better pads and a red painted caliper with a brembo logo lol.
@@Malinkadink As long as you can lock the wheels larger calipers do not slow the car down faster they only dissipate heat faster... mainly for racing conditions
Can you still avail the bilstein and brembo brake package? Additional?
Mazda has a build your own mx5 program now, you can but a fully custom mx5 from the factory.

Yes, it is 400lbs lighter than the 86, and the Skyactiv engine is very efficient. Btw, the quoted highway figure is flat out, high revving travels and not "tipid" mode. 😊
How's the blind spots?
You'd need to adjust the mirrors properly to remove any blindspot. I must admit I prefer the soft top's total open air feel with the top down.
It’s not an issue when you’re driving because the car is so small. But when you’re backing up, the rear traffic alert is really good at picking up cars.
Nice, but I think the soft top has more character.

Heroic Testicles Mazda Ph has multiple dealers in NCR. I source most of my Mazda cars for review from Mazda Makati.

@@heroictesticles6870 haven't had experience with Mazda Alabang, but you can try out Mazda Makati or Mazda Pasig, both have superb service. There is also Mazda Greenhills.

@@ReygansRides does your soft top rub against the head rest piece? It's not the seat. I'm talking about the piece behind the seat. Mine runs slightly. I normally dont drop the top.
Phuong Hua Nope, it doesn’t. That’s the first thing I checked when I bought her. Soft top clears the roll hoops well. I think they fixed it already in the 2018s.

sucks. placement of handbrake is on passenger side while the europe version (right side steering wheel) handbrake is on driver side. they should put it in the center otherwise and lose the redundant dials

Keisuke Takahashi or you can get a mustang gt 5.0 auto or camaro ss auto and smoke and out handle the Miata in every way!
It's not all about power and straight line acceleration. The MX5 is one of the most fun cars you can drive, it's like a go kart. The Subaru is just a car, nothing special about it and it's heavy. The mustang is a big heavy brick and wouldn't stand a chance in the corners against the MX5. People don't buy MX5's to drag race, but they do enjoy making Porsche owners sweat in the corners. If you want to go fast buy a 1000cc BMW superbike for 1.3 million and you'll beat anything on the roads including 40 million peso supercars.
