Make silver leaf pendants with PMC Paste

- PMC Paste is a silver clay made into paste to obtain adhesiveness. Although it is normally used for glueing silver clays together, the most attracting thing is that we can make a silver leaf with natural patterns of veins just by painting the paste on a real leaf and firing it in a furnace. Wouldn’t it be nice to make a pendant with a leaf from your memorial scene ?
Also suitable for family as even kids can do it and enjoy with parents.

They are made of pure silver and thin, so they'll be kind of easy to bend. I think it would be better to press the leaf in a mold and then use that to mold the pmc thicker 🤔
Can you fire in a kiln? If so, how long and at what temp? The question has already been asked, but there are hardly any responses!
Silver Clay Firing Tips & Info
Tucked inside every package of silver metal clay is a neatly folded sheet with basic instructions for using the clay type at hand. Included in the instructions is a firing table that lists the various firing time and temperature combinations that the clay type can be fired at.
For instance, the firing guide included in a package of PMC 3 lists the following firing options:
1650°F / 899°C for 2 hours
1560°F / 849°C for 20 minutes
1290°F / 699°C for 10 minutes
1200°F / 649C for 20 minutes
1110°F / 599°C for 45 minutes
The insert from a package of Art Clay Silver lists:
1650°F / 899°C for 2 hours
1600°F / 871°C for 10 minutes
1560°F / 849°C for 10 minutes
1472°F / 811°C for 30 minutes
How do you know what combination to pick? The instructions don't really say.
Minimum vs Ideal
The variety of times and temperatures for each clay type makes it possible to co-fire embedded items along with the clay, and it also allows for a variety of firing methods. What the guides don't mention is that there is a trade-off in the strength of the final product when firing at anything less than the optimum schedule of 2 hours at 1650°F / 899°C in a digitally controlled kiln.
A common misconception about silver metal clay is that after firing it's solid metal, just like a casting, but it's not. Castings are made by pouring molten metal into a mold and allowing the metal to cool in the mold. The result is a very strong, solid metal object with very little porosity (more air spaces). But silver clay is not at all like a casting. Silver clay is sintered, and sintered objects are very different.

Did you ever find out if you can use it on feathers as that's exactly the same thing I'm hoping to try. I don't want to waste the paste as it's quite expensive for how much you get

@⭐️HippyGypsyHeavyMetalEarthMama🌙 ahh yes I forgot that I was supposed to come back. Well the results were mixed, the first worked OK-ish and the second I just couldn't get to work. I think I may try the clay as trying to brush the stuff onto feathers was pretty fiddly and kept moving the feathers around

It’s Precious Metal Clay - a brand name for fine silver clay.
And no, you cannot add anything to the formula, at least not as far as I know. Why would you want to, anyways? The point is to make objects of fine silver, and anything you might add, aside from making the material not work as designed, would also create an item with a lower percentage of silver in it - if it even worked at all. If you want a less pure silver, there are sterling silver clays on the market, too.

outside the box kind of person, and some music on these CZcams videos ARE annoying. I'm not saying that this video's music is annoying, but you'd be surprised what a difference the right music makes. Certain music generates certain feelings and moods. Some music is distracting no matter who you are. The right music makes a BIG difference to a CZcams audience. Maybe you are the one with a small brain who doesn't understand the concept of using the right music with the right content.
