dude, you can soldering iron the data pins on the heater/radio display to fix the missing pixels.. no need to buy another. ive done a few of these now and i find you dont need to resolder at all. remove the module from car, remove the baclk plastic cover to expose the cct board. tip over the module so the pins face down (instead of up ) using a solder iron just heat up the base with the tip so the original solder will melt to gravitate down ( no more than 2mm ) and make good contact wit the pins. clean result , and no chance of shorting pins together.
Buying one of these this weekend but in nighthawk black not bronze haha. Look forward to see what you will do with it with regards to power. How often will vids be posted on this project?
