Brandon, you can press the Control Key (Ctrl) to bulk-buy/sell 10 at once, press Shift to bulk-buy/sell 100 at once
Also, there is a bar next to your upgrades, and you need a certain amount to get to the next level (Ascending)
Once you have ascended, you unlock other types of cookies (e.g. Cookie Crumbs, Chocolate Chip Cookie, etc)
And Golden Cookies spawn in once in a while and give you special effects (e.g. Cookie Production x7, Clicking power x777, etc)
And you can Unlock Upgrades for the Golden Cookies. (e.g. Spawing twice as often, Staying duration twice as long, Effects timer twice as long, etc)

Brandon, the cookie upgrade does make difference to your cookie, like if you click its not a normal cookie anymore its different cookies everytime you click.
