There was no gift whatsoever. High pressing and the intensity City were giving us led to us making mistakes that cost us the win. Thats how you win these type of games.
What game were you watching? It wasn't because de bruyne was in an amazing position it was a horrendous pass. As was the pass in the second half. We ruined it for ourselves, city weren't even good.

One team increased the intensity in the second half while the other got carried away by their impressive first half. Same thing happened in the away game against Man Utd. Getting excited and conceding sloppy goals.
Almost the reflection on Arsenal's season, started well then got carried away and now opponents caught up after kicking on. Hopefully, this is a lesson and not in vain for future seasons to not get lost on celebrating the progress halfway through the season but to push to the end as see it through

@B. Smithy you're right and we can attribute those to the quality of the players we have. A big credit should go to the coach for the performances so far this season. The truth of the matter is that we lack top quality in almost every part of the team.
Honestly Tomiyasu just made a mistake, that can happen during any game. But the endless missed chances & us constantly trying to play it out the back and losing possession was what lost us the game tbh.
Tomiyasu gave a goal away, made an own goal and was on a yellow constantly. Poor decision from Arteta, When White came on you could immediately see the difference in class

We have no cover for Martinelli, thatâs one of the reasons we have seen him fall out of form. Zinchenko was all over the pitch and gave the ball away too many times (they all did, very sloppy.) I wanted to see tierney today, he provides cover and allows martinelli to run at people.

When zinchenko cuts in and xhaka is playing in his more advance role we are exposed on the left. martinelli is forced to play more conservative and track back more frequently. A more seasoned Tomiasu, feeling he's got a guy on his back, would have simply put the ball out of play on his left on the first goal. The second goal is a deflection that keep Ramsdale to stop it, it happens. We lose the ball on the third but City presses well they/Haaland take it brilliantly. First half Arsenal were better. Second half City were. Defensively, City did okay (particularly Ake and Dias). Defensively, Arsenal were shocking at times. Good match.

Neutral fan here.. I observed 3 offensive patters from Arsenal:
1) Saka ( 2) Zinchenko crossing to Nketiah (The big chances in this game came from this pattern.) (3) Martin Odegaard is brilliant and gives key passes for goals - to the front three.
But by far, the most consistently dangerous offensive option in this season (and previously too) has been Saka.
Keep Saka quiet by any means possible and Arsenal's offensive threat literally comes down by 75%. This is what Man City have done, by repeatedly hacking him down using different players. In the match against Brentford or Everton, he was double-teamed (2 defensive players on him whenever he was in a dangerous position).
I am pretty sure other teams will try to do the same. Eddie Nketiah really needs to put away those chances for the remainder of the season. A lot will depend on him. He is a fantastic player and his dribbling is underrated (Not sure why Robbie said he does not dribble). He needs to put away those headers though.
All said and done, Arsenal look like the team to beat this season. It is going to be an incredible finish to the season.

Hard to believe that performance came from the side that was top of the league. We were a bunch of nerves from start to finish, one mistake after another from back to front.
This game can be viewed so many different ways. We can all agree Arsenal played well in the 1st half but to be honest this 3.5 at the back with Bernardo was bound to be a disaster, everyone saw from the Villa game that any decent team would exploit that. The fact the game changed when we went 4 at the back (still not our strongest in many city fans opinion, we wanted Laporte) validates that setup error by Pep. I think Arsenal messed up four games ago in the cup game against us with the lineup, yes the squad is thin but you are in no place to take your foot off the gas. We did it against Chelsea a few seasons back and just after securing the league early and just couldn't get back to our best, they won the cup game where me made the big changes, they won the league game after then ultimately the UCL final. The way we played in the UCL that season we should have blown Chelsea away but we eased up in the cup game and just lost our form.
