But just for my knowledge asking you that, if a pipe size is 4 inch then as per rule span would be 10 + 4" = 14" span distance. This is what I understood and I think this is wrong. Bcoz 6 meter distance which I know would be the span between two pipe supports. Please help me to understand this.
First of all that is 10 +(size of pipe in inch) is give span in feet. For your case 10+4" is equals to 14 feet. If you see the attached chart from ASMEB31.1 table it also give same value in feet. in the thumb rule it self it is mentioned that span is in feet. Might be missed because of bad sound i guess.
BM for fixed beam is wl2/12 and s/s beam is wl2/8
So the pipe support are under composed flexion (effort + moment )????

6m is an avg span widely used since we have to place rack structure uniformly.
