The show is amazing. I grew up in foster care. I was taken from my home when I was 5yrs old. I lived in over 10 different homes in my life. This show does a wonderful job talking about the broken foster care system.
Unfortunately that is the world sweetie.... Corruption was instilled in America for the longest... I hate that you went through what you did... But hey what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

I too was in the system. I lost count on how many homes I was placed in and group homes. this show brings up a lot of emotions on how I felt growing up in the system. I also love the fact that the fosters shows just how messed up the system is. for years the foster system has been in the dark to the public. a lot of people don't know just how hard it is being a child and going through it. and how not every foster family is safe. I know a lot of kids here in Florida that are about to age out of the system with no family and no one really to rely on. most don't even know about independent living and the great opportunities they can provide.

Somehow this song legit makes you feel better even if you aren't meant to relate.
I feel like this song is a promise to my future family. I'm a teen & I don't fit in & I feel like my parents only love me conditionally. That's something I'll never do, let my kid suffer just because they are different.
You are not alone Lina, but it does sound like you are on the right track. I think some day you are going to make a wonderful mother. Just stay true to yourself, and don't sell yourself short for just anyone. Find the RIGHT one, and you'll find that love you're waiting for. And yes, it is worth waiting for.

Same. My birth parents gave me up and I was in a group home for the first six years of my life. After I turned six, my worker started to look for a family for me to be adopted in and when I turned seven. I was introduced to three different household. I picked my adopted mother who was the last household I met out of all the other families because I felt that connection when I walked up to the front door. I knew that I’ll walk through this door for the rest of my life. My mom loves me unconditionally and I love her too. I’m so happy that I choose her to be my mother. My role model and my everything. Now I’m 23 and we’re still so close. When my mom heard me sing this song on my piano. She cried so much. I started crying and she actually recorded it. I don’t know what happened to that video. You could tell how much emotions it was being recorded in it through me and my mom who was holding it.

I've watched the fosters religiously the entire time love this song and even my 4 yrs old and my 7 week old love it. My 7 week old if he is fussy I turn the song on he calms down and drifts of to sleep. I'm learning the words to the song now so just incase I don't have my phone I can sing it fully to him.
