- Those instances are rare, it took years to make a decent 4 minutes compilation, there is a bunch of other clips that aren't bad enough to be included, this is the worst of the worst. Four of those are from 2019, a big chunk from 2016-2018 (see sources/dates below). CSGO received major hitbox updates through the years, bomb plant isn't as broken.

QueuedJar but before it was fixed it was causing serious problems, like shown in this video. There were a couple of moments from pro-players, so imagining shit like this happening in finale with 15:15 is not hard.

@@thiagoklock5064 Thiago Klock Counter-Strike is not random how you think especially if playing on lan/offline, everything that happens can be explained through the game's mechanics. Karrigan's headshot didn't hit the head hitbox, just went through the hat model beside his head. His aim likely still had the slightest of inaccuracy since it was still resetting from jumping no doubt, which you can't see since this isn't showing the dyanmic crosshair, and the deagle had one of the slowest post jump accuracy resetting speeds in the game. He did almost completely wait for it, and he had a dead center shot lined up, but he microadjusted a little too far down left so that it was more past his target's left cheek over his shoulder. The head hitbox looks larger from the top of this specific IDF model because of the floppy hat but really easy to miss from above because the head hitbox is much thinner from top down. In fact, if the OLD hitboxes were still in the game, he probably WOULD have hit the headshot since they were big boxes that didn't round out and fit to the player model's head and instead extended far outside the heads by many units. And if Karrigan didn't try to style on the kid and switch to his knife for no reason, he would have easily had the follow up shot. Regardless, 99% of the time, you aren't going to be shooting someone from this super weird angle directly above an enemy in csgo except in maybe intentionally vertical maps like Vertigo

Headsets have a faster ttk so it's much more beneficial to go for them over body shots when you can

It’s so surreal that this can happen especially when it’s being played in front of a massive crowd and treated as a true sports event. This is like if in football every time you kicked a field goal there was a chance the ball could go through the goal but it just wouldn’t be counted and there was no way to predict it.

I don't play CSGO, but I can tell that these moments are EXTREMELY rare. Even the description notes how long it took to find enough clips for just this short video. So this isn't representative of the average experience, but rather that of those notoriously infamous moments that happens now and again.

With TF2, I feel like it's the opposite of the "CSGO'ed" effect : Sniper sometimes hitting a headshot despite aiming the torso or aiming at the air of someone's previous location and still getting a headshot.
Imagine if this kind of thing was tolerated in a major televised sport. Like a small percent of baseballs have random weights and centers of gravity due to factory defects. Rather than test the balls beforehand, the commentators are just like "well, that's just the game of baseball, folks! He just got baseball'ed!"

Good thing all of these issues are gone now. Hitboxes received an update that turned them from horrendously inaccurate cuboids, to sphere thingos a few years ago, but there was a flaw in those spheroids that meant that they did not match the exact rotation of the model. That is now fixed, and so the models are dead on accurate (exception from edge cases where you shoot a hat, or a backpack, or something like that. Wouldn't it be cool if when that happened, they went flying off? I digress.)

Look up some sites of ppl spraying an AK - you'd be amazed how easy it is to miss a shot if you don't shoot correctly, even at point blank range.

@@ig_okayeg its really random , not happen to u, but casually happens to another, in other words, this issue still happens cause they didn't fully fix it and get worse who has the bad pc setup like bad monitor, high ping etc, the low latency its really important for FPS especially a trash bugged shooter game. I had some conversation with some peoples in reddit like 1 year ago, we came to a conclusion "GUESSING" with some tests, like creating a lobby in 64 and 128 tickrate 8 players inside , among the eight, six had problems, sometimes missing an impossible shot and the rest nothing happened. IN OTHER WORDS "Guess" this happens because of some bug in CS GO tickrate 64 or 128 whatever, which means he wont be able to get the shoot if the refresh rate of tickrate not work properly, giving for random player i kind of immunity or ghost phase.
I've almost 8k hours i can confirm this happens to me sometimes, even with my good pc and 165 hz monitor.

2. His gun jammed at 5 secs into the clip, part of the realism we added to csgo.
3. His enemy used instant transmission to avoid shots 6-10
4. He died before he could shoot again, so his shots from 10-500 were not registered, they were for show.

A lot of these clips are reasonable (not all). Bullets have inaccuracy, even on first shot, so a good amount of the rifle clips were just unlucky shots. As for the AWP misses you don't have perfect accuracy on a quick scope or while moving, so a lot of those make sense too. A fair few of these clips the player starts moving right before the shot is taken.

The clips you see in of them failing were either the old hitboxes when you were defusing a bomb was really bad or you are VERY unlucky that the spread of the weapon's bullets are really bad. The awp shots were because of them moving while shooting and their scope was still blurry so it wasnt an accurate shot.

What happened to the dude at 0:57, reminded me of what happened to me. I was the last one alive and the enemy team said their last player was afk so I went to kill him at their spawn, but when I finally got to him despite staying completely still and lining up my shots not a single one hit. Right when I gave up and just went for the knife the guy came back and immediately headshot and killed me. The real kicker is it all happened in point blank range, even if I had somehow missed the head it should have still hit the body. Everyone on both teams was confused AF. I've played crappier shooters that didn't have those kinds of issues. CSGO is the only game where you can have your crosshair dead center at point blank range and still miss, and for some reason there's whiny piss babies who will go rabid at the mere sight of this piece of shit game being criticized for its awful gunplay mechanics.
CSGO is like an abusing girlfriend. You hate, you suffer from it, but still somehow love it. I think a bit of unfairness and a pain, in some weird and unusual way, makes it more fun. Of course this doesn't mean Valve should stop fixing bugs and leave it as it is.

Edit: Looked around and the paid promotion thing was entirely speculation.
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because Hiko was already dead.

This has actually been fixed with CS2, the issue being the hitboxes not always matching agent skins. Now all hitboxes are the same, and basically as big as the biggest agent head.
