Lego Dimensions didn’t shut down, you can still play it.
Exactly. You don't even need the physical Lego bricks; the important part is the character discs/stands (which have RFID chips in them that get read by the physical gamepad).
My favorite memory of Lego Universe was an article I came across several years after the shutdown which detailed the extreme lengths that the designers went to to ensure that players couldn't build and share worlds that contained dicks and other offensive builds.

I think Lego Dimensions could've lasted longer if you didn't have to purchase additional characters with real currency. I could see a promotional edition that included the game, the portal, and the 3 main characters, rather than requiring the use of so many physical objects to play half of the levels

@@Tazerboy_10 it was a good game for sure but when it came out i was 10 and didnt have much money to spend on the game, lego is mainly a kids toy, and not many kids are going to have enougb money to spend like $15 on one or 2 characters, however i liked getting the lego figures for ninjago so ill take it but still.

Dimensions was so cool as an eleven year old, and still holds up pretty well. The Sonic and Doctor Who packs are my favourites.
also 8:08 is not true. The game is still playable to this day, it just doesn't get updated anymore. I was just playing it earlier today.

Lego Racers was my first Lego PC game. The power up system was cool, where you can power up your power ups to make then better. My favourite one was the warp hole.
I think it would be cool if LEGO can make a game for the virtual reality headset.

I have LEGO Racers for PC, got it as a birthday present.
The whole "Metaverse" thing is such a failure from every company investing in it. The metaverse has too many problems and too much hype to be worth it. I can only see this being a complete wash and Lego and Epic burying it and hoping no one realizes it.

LEGO Brawls is a pretty solid brawler and has tons of minifigs, including ones from the newest series Ninjago Dragons Rising!
Bro this taking me back! Lego racers, Lego island 2, and Lego chess were my fav back in the early days of my childhood. I also had Lego creator Harry Potter. But I remember playing Racers and chess most of the time.

I actually started buying Dimensions sets before I even had the system to play the game on. I intended to get a Wii U and the main game but in the meantime, I was happy to get some of the sets. There was one channel that had up all the instructions I always went to. I even got into the Portal series because of that game. I got the Portal 2 set on a whim but found I didn't really know how to play with it properly. So, I got the games on Steam for cheap and found out they were fun too. So that was a double win.
And I know while covering everything you pretty much had to skip my personal favorite, LEGO City Undercover. That is still my favorite for how it's just a little more grounded than all the Space Fights and Hero games Lego licenses. That game worked in so many parodies of police show tropes and odd movie references it was hilarious. And Chase McCain himself was entertaining, charming, and funny.
Now looking at this the Lego and epic games collaboration was amazing and actually is fun and interesting

Geez, not even mentioning Lego Rock Raiders (and/or fan remake Manic Miners)? That game was foundational to me, and I'm sure others, especially for getting into RTS. But yeah, tell me about the upcoming metaverse project for the 7 metaverse users, or multiple MMORPGs that are literally unplayable.

my fav lego game has to be lord of the rings im just a massive fan of the franchise plus i like that they added some character and places that where not in the movies like tom bombadil
I love that game too! They managed to do so much with the character abilities in a way that felt real to the actual thing and the treasure trove mechanic was lit

Maybe I missed it being mentioned, but I think Lego Loco was the greatest Lego game ever made; it was the only Lego game that made me feel like I was playing a game that emulated building with Legos, and not just a game that played like any other just with a Lego art style.
I could have sworn I played Lego racers game in the mid 90's You were able to build your own car and drive it around in a tropical island. It was a demo CD that came with a pc magazine tho.

Weird....I'm literally playing Lego dimensions right now. At no point has it ever been unplayable. What made you think that? It's probably more popular now, than it was when it came out.
If you look around you can find tutorials on making RFID cards like the amiibo cards all over Amazon.
I personally really liked Lego worlds but would love to see a Lego Ninjago game released in the future.

Normally I say this kind of thing as a joke, but you REALLY should have included Bionicle games. The Mata Nui Online game and the Mata Nui Online Game 2 were incredibly popular, were collaborations with TellTale Games, and are often regarded as the best flash games of all time. There are countless more Bionicle web games, and even if you only want to look at non-webgames, there was BIONICLE:Tales of the Tohunga/Quest for the Toa(Game Boy Advanced), BIONICLE: Matoran Adventures(Game Boy Advanced), BIONICLE(Playstation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Windows PC, and Apple Macintosh), BIONICLE: Maze of Shadows(Game Boy Advanced), BIONICLE HEROES(Playstation 2, Xbox 360, GameCube, Wii, PC, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Mobile phone), BIONICLE Challenge(Mobile Phone), BIONICLE Defenders(Mobile Phone), and the important but cancelled games BIONICLE: Legend of Mata Nui and BIONICLE: City of Legends. I find it to be an overall thing that Lego channels just kinda look past Bionicle, whether it be MNOG, the Mask of Light movie, or the actual sets themselves. I get that they're kinda a departure from normal Lego, being constraction, but I still feel like they deserve credit for, if nothing else, being an interesting period of time where Lego was doing stranger non-standard things like RoboRiders, Galidor, and of course Bionicle.
Lego Builders journey was a good game either. This game did not mentioned for some reason.
Note: ı did not played lego dimensions but this game caught my attention because it had portal theme. This was the only 3rd party game featuring portal until bridge constructor portal.
