Thanks again Kevin. My husband Chuck appreciates your video of removing thermocouples which he knew how to do. He doesn’t want to have to buy a value which is expensive. He’d rather buy a new heater for $100+. Thanks again! Nora
Thank you for the detailed information. I have this very problem on a wall heater and now will have a go at fixing it. Your videos are always helpful ! :)
Thanks!!!!!! I think I just pushed mine out of position or put some stuff on my pilot light when I was trying to dust it. But now I even know how to get to the parts I want to clean next time!!!
Many times you can repair a thermo coupler problem with a small soft wire brush. The tip will get covered with burnt gas deposits causing the burner to light for a while and then go out. Just brushing off the burnt sediment on the end does wonders.
Kevin, Thank you for two great videos on vent free gas heaters. I changed the thermocouple and it worked. I then turned it off and put the cover back on and the guard. I then went to turn it back on and it would not restart. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Ron
I have searched for my problem but can't find it. So what if my pilot light is about 6 inches tall. It was only about 3 last year. Now it runs that tall and shuts off after a few. It's a procom mb200tbe. Any advice is welcome
Kevin is Thet glo-warm blue flame gas heater? If so , I have problems to find the termocapuler , u know we're can I find the distributor for Thet kind Heater. Thank you
Kevin: Nice video: Do you know if it's possible to replace the thermocouple with a digital unit? Mine has a turn on-off window that is too sloppy. It floats around about +/- 2 deg F.
I've cleaned my mr heater 20,000 btu ventless tile heater multiple times keep getting a orange tip on flame also replaced regulator on tank don't understand what's causing the orange tip never a issue previous winter's any suggestions Thanks
Make sure there's gas pressure flowing! Natural or propane. Make sure Main gas lines not shut off. Gas is on with ample W.C. Pressure ... should get flow thru pilot tube!! If not pilot tube or office maybe clogged! Take tube loose at the gas valve ! Try button again... if gas comes out at gas valve pilot opening.... check pilot office(prob the culprit).
Orifice not office! Stupid phones misspelling 🙄 Don't worry about the thermocouple until you can get a pilot flame. A bad thermocouple will not stop a manual flame pilot light on the start up.... It's a safety to prove flame & keep the gas valve open for operation! Flame goes out... thermocouple shuts off the gas valve.
@@orlandojohnson5742 ya my Ready heater has a normal pilot light but after I hold it down even for 3 minutes it goes low then when I turn up to the high settings the pilot goes out. Hmm.
Kevin I have a 5 burning radiant heat it looks like it is getting too much propane the burner where the pilot light is dosnt turn red it is a blue and yellow flame. Do you know what is wrong with it
I can't get any propane to go past the little,1/2 lb, regulator in the heater, I've cleaned everything out couple times, no gas coming to the pilot light , I even took the regulator apart cleaned it still nothing. It's a 30000 but wal mount mr heater , only about 3 years old. Could the regulator be bad .
Kevin Robinson yea just put on a full 20lb tank , propane comes to the regulator but does not go any farther past that , I also have a regulator on the tank with a pressure gauge on it , I set it on 5 lb, also tried it at 2lb, 5 lb, and alway up to 30 lb, still nothing to the pilot .
One of the most dangerous videos on YT. You NEVER mess with an Oxygen Depletion Sensor safety pilot other than to replace the entire pilot assembly with an OEM model. It is a highly engineered component. They don't want qualified techs doing what you're doing. This is a bad, dangerous video. Please remove it and stop messing with things you don't understand. BTW, it is a "thermocouple"-no r on the end.

Sounds like it's might be getting too much pressure.
Just like mine I’ve had 2 Procoms. They are junk
Very helpful
Glad it helped thank you for the comment.
Is the igniter supposed to be slightly tilted downward on all heaters?
My natural gas wall heater's thermostat stopped working, how do I fix it
Sorry but without looking at it i can't say for sure.

It could be the gas itself or the air adjustment on the pilot light or have you cleaned your pilot light?

Where can I find that the direction for Dyna Glo 39000 btu to remove the thermocople.

great job Bro!!!
Thanks bro.
After shutting off the gas do you need to somehow bleed the line?
Know it will bleed when you push the button down then it will light.
I have a question. We have one but it's not getting gas. Its like the gas is turned off. What would cause that. Thanks for your help.
The pilot light might need cleaned.
Why do you change these?
If your pilot doesn't stay on
What would be the symptom of bad thermocouple? I am not getting gas flow to the pilot light when pressing Pilot controller.
Make sure there's gas pressure flowing! Natural or propane.

I also have a playlist on the vent free gas heater.
very good tip.
Thanks Danny.
My ventless heater pilot goes on but quickly goes low. Then when I turn it up high it goes out. I will try to clean off the thermocoupler tip.
Did you get it fixed?
Ya. Gas tank & hose was rusted inside from sitting out in rain snow for 2 years.
When I try to ignite my pilot light, everything ignites like I turned on the gas. Like I turned it on to a higher setting what do I need to do?
Not sure on that one sorry Josh.
@@Robinson-Homestead ok thank you
You didn't explain how to verify if the thermocouple is the problem.
Tried Cleaning this , heater lights and then cuts off .
Thermocoupler.
I need a Kevin around to help me out. Where do I get a Kevin? LoL. So smart but I'm afraid to do it since it's gas.
I wish I could help more.
What can gas those heaters take?
These are natural gas.
You can get them with propane to.
It's just thermocouple! There is no r on the end!
Thanks for watching.
i cant turn it on my toes are cold i dont wanna blow up
My flame is to big when pilot is burning
Not sure maybe air adjustment on the pilot light.
