@Methanoladdict Even so, the Quattro S1 was the risponsable of a new rally era... The BX 4TC couldn´t beat the low weight of the Delta S4, 205 T-16 or the SportQuattro power. Even the RS 200 proved to be better. However, it was a shame. This car was very amazing.
All wrong from the very outset but I love it. I think that they were trying to copy Audi too much, which by 1986 was an outdated and obsolete design in group B. great nostalgia though! Thanks for posting.
I thought i had read that all the WRC Spec BX4TC's had been scrapped, good thing they haven't. The size of that front overhang is just amazing, if that's where the engine lies, then handling must have been shocking.
to supercarsGT: No it did not win any rallies in the 80s. It was introduced the last year of group B in 1986 and the best it scored was a 6th place here in Sweden. It was really not succesfull. Actually citroen was ashamed of the preformence. Well it sure looks very strange but in a very interresting way. I really like this car even though it was not very good for its class.
To piggyback off of this: The reason it's so rare is because Citroen, ashamed of how poorly the BX4TC performed, recalled all of the competition examples and destroyed the ones they actually got back.
+MC Taipan And yet almost 20 years from this failure, Citroen went on to become one of the most successful WRC manufacturers of all time, right up there with Lancia.
That is classic - on own weird way. It's pretty weird that Citroen didn't change their concept on design time after it was 100% clear that mid-engine was the only choise if you wanna win in WRC.
This one looks good for a Citroen but I think the street version is ugly as sin compared to this one. The engine is way too far ahead of the front axle. Still cool to see this alive and running around.
Ever try to throw a sledgehammer by the head? Yeah, that was how the BX GrpB handled. THey learned nothing from Audi's hard earned lessons. Even Audi was testing a mid-engined test mule in the final days of GrpB for the still born 'GrpS'. Too bad really, I always thought the BX GrpB was kinda cool looking.

@alxcsb No they had the hydro-pneumatic suspension, no doubt. If you pause at 2:43 you can see a green sphere.
@Methanoladdict BX essential design (Anadol FW 11) was created in 1977, way before the Audi quattro was launched.
Reminds me of some Dakar vehicles at the back.
This definately beats my old BX sport. As a citroen lover it would be like a wet dream to see, even better touch one of these awesome "killer" Bees.

That thing looks really ungainly. Back suspension looks like it rides too high, probably didn't have enough travel.
A rare BX indeed, but thankfully so because this car is so ugly it would have made the eyes of Group B rally fans bleed out on the stages.
