    This video is an example of true buddhic activity. Valuable information that helps people take a first step towards the Dharma. Without having to seek intermediaries between themselfs and the Buddhas, or pay lamas of dubious morality for "initiations" or empowerments. Real initiations are very rare and even more so in this degenerate age. Only authentic lamas (full of compassion and love) without any interest in receiving something in return, give authentic empowerments. Tsem rinpoché was a good example of an authentic teacher and a beautiful human being. As long as we don't have good karma to find them (these good teachers) we can do free practices. Everyone should know this because it is a possibility that belongs to all sentient beings.

    It would still be important to clarify that the practice of the deities that do not require a special initiation refers only to the practice of a sadhana. If you want to do a yidam practice of these deities, you definitely need an initiation and very detailed explanations.
    This is not meant to be a smart-ass statement, but only for clarification and to protect against misunderstandings.

      It is interesting how Tibetans over time managed to mesh their feudal system with Dharma teachings. Some not very holy lamas monopolized secret teachings by prohibiting their transmission under the pretext of "protecting" the uninitiated. The truth is that all Yidams are the same. So how is that deities without ego that emanate from the Buddha, are asking for a bureaucratic or religious proceedings when simple humans or beings in a state of oblivion knock on their door? (the door that is in our own heart btw) all prohibition is ridiculous and it doesn't make sense. Let's stay free and compassionate!
      P.S. And yes, I have received Empowerments from a true realized teachers and I do have a Guru. Still, I think that the teachings and practices should reach as many people as possible... In all directions, transcending any hierarchy. For the benefit of all beings.

      @@eahp13 Without meaning to offend you, I don't think you are someone who does yidam practice. Many people have initiations, but that means nothing in the context.
      If you had real knowledge, you would be able to understand that there is a difference between doing a sadhana and a yidam practice and what it is. Since you have not addressed this issue, you are showing your (lack of) understanding of it or not knowing it at all.

      @@eahp13 I'm no expert, but I understand that higher practices are not for anyone to do off of some internet page when they know nothing about that practice's purpose, true meaning etc. You say all yidams are the same in essence, that is true. But the path itself is different. For example, White Manjusri and Orange Manjusri are the same, both are Manjusri, but the actual path itself is different. It's the same for all deities. Also no, initiations are not a Tibetan invention. Sakyamuni taught them, and Indian Buddhists and Hindus had initiations for tantras, so do Japanese Buddhists in the Shingon school. Initiations are real and usually come from highly trained lamas, even enlightened ones like the Dalai Lama who is a manifestation of Avalokitesvara himself

    • @AverageBuddhist88

      @@eahp13 1) He is a politician and a spiritual leader. Like the Pope. The Dalai Lama heads the Gelug school and ruled/should rule Tibet so yes he is technically a politician, but who put him as the head of Gelug? Avalokitesvara himself. So the Dalai Lama is also a spiritual leader and is actually enlightened according to many sources. (2) there are still a lot of points I made that you didn't answer. How can you explain initiations in every tantric school of Hinduism and Buddhism, even in Japnese, Chinese and Indonesian Vajrayana. Clearly it wasn't made up by Tibet, India had tantras hundreds of years before Buddhism came to Tibet. Buddhism isn't about compassion and kindness, it is about proper training of the mind. Compassion does come with that, but handing tantras to everyone in the name of "compassion" undermines their power as people won't properly be able to train their mind according to the methods. Sutras are to be accessible to everyone, not tantras

      Its so the transmission and reasons for practice are not effected by perversion of impure body, speech, and mind.
      As for how often, its a sacred pact that one practices 6 times during the day, and 6 times at night. This is why sleep yoga is a thing - so we can continue purification and practice during our sleep

    What defines general purposes

    • @AverageBuddhist88
      @AverageBuddhist88 Před rokem

      I believe it means anyone can practice the sadhna of that deity, for any purpose. There isn't a specific purpose that it has to be practiced for. Notice how for Black Manjusri he said you can do it in extreme cases where it is needed, so it wouldn't class as general purpose as there is a specific purpose for it if you don't have initiation
