    The light show and stage arrangements look modern by today’s standards, yet this concert happened 28 years ago in 1994. As usual, Pink Floyd was ahead of their time.

    The Three Greatest Live Guitar Solos.... Pink Floyd-David Gilmour - "Comfortably Numb" - "Sorrow" from the 1994 Pulse Tour... And "On The Turning Away" 1987 "Delicate Sound Of Thunder" Tour...... I saw them all several times.

    Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"...
    I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen.
    I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold.
    All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. The Red Fender Stratocaster he used for this concert in the Guitar Collector World is ....PRICELESS

    I was at the London concert. I'm a 60 year old man and I cried most of the way through it, especially "the great gig in the sky". The backing vocalists were simply amazing. I know that most people say that you can't beat the original vocal, but remember that these girls have to do this night after night. Puts a massive strain on the voice.

  • @scozz6139
    @scozz6139 Před 2 lety +6

    Nice reaction JB!
    David Gilmour is a very unique guitarist, he's one of the finest feel players of all time, imo. What I mean about "feel" is emotion, Gilmour plays with so much feel and emotion. His playing is a big part of the "spacey', take me on a cerebral journey, Pink Floyd does with their songs.
    Another thing I like about Gilmour is he's not a flashy player, you would never see him in concert with some kind of crazy spandex outfit. He's there with jeans and a tee shirt! He's not running around the stage jumping up and down, making silly faces as he plays, like sooo many Rock guitarists! It's quite refreshing for me.
    He says more with a few notes, some bends, and inflections, than someone who plays a bajillion notes a second, (shredding), up and down the fretboard like a robot!
    I've been a PF fan since the release of their "Dark Side of the Moon" album in 1973, I was 17 years old, I've seen them live twice, one time was The Wall. What an incredible, phenomenal, show, concert, play that was, it was the greatest Show of any kind that I have ever seen.

Steve has been gone for 31 years, and many still grieve for him and all that we lost that day. You Poms produce some excellent musicians, and that’s coming from an Aussie. PULSE, IS THE BETTER LIVE OF PINK FLOYD EVER! EVEN, WITHOUT ROGER WATERS! THE PRODUCTION IS PERFECT! SOUNDS, LIGHTS, SPECIAL EFFECTS! PROBABLY, THE BETTER CONCERT PRODUCTION OF ALL TIME! I SAW, THAT CONCERT, DURING THE PULSE WORLD TOUR, IN MY OWN TOWN, IN STRASBOURG, FRANCE, IN THE STADIUM, 50000 PERSONS! JUST, MADNESS! I WAS ONLY, 14,I WENT WITH MY PARENTS, WHO WERE OLD HIPPIES! I WILL NEVER FORGET! BUT, THAT VERSION, AT THE EARLS COURT, IS THE BETTER OF ALL TIME! EVERYBODY, IS SAYING, THE VERSION OF COMFORTABLY NUMB, IN THAT CONCERT, IS ONE OF THE 4 OR 5 BETTER SOLOS,OF ALL TIME! AS A GUITARIST, I'M TOTALLY AGREED! BUT, FOR ME, SORROW, IN THAT CONCERT, IS BETTER THAT COMFORTABLY NUMB! A MADNESS! UNBELIEVABLE! WHEN HE STARTS TO SING, CLOSING THEIR EYES! YOU UNDERSTAND HE WILL GIVES EVERYTHING! THE LIGHTS! IN THE SOLO, WHEN THE DRUM SMASHED EVERYTHING WITH THE LIGHTS! AND, DAVID, EXPLODING EVERYTHING WITH HIS GUITAR! HOW HE'S BUILDING HIS SOLO! MORE AND MORE POWERFUL! UNTIL THE FINAL EXPLOSION! SOME DAYS (NOT ALL THE TIMES), I PREFERE IT TO COMFORTABLY NUMB! WHAT A PERFORMANCE! PEACE FROM FRANCE GUYS! 😂👍✌️🎸🇫🇷

Don’t know what your goals are for yourself or your channel…….are you sticking to classic rock? Then you’re on the right track….I’m sure you’ll be adding Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Tull and a dozen or two more. If you want to grow quickly, hit Nightwish and/or Tool……they have big fan bases. Iv been wanting to start me own for long time now so I started i decided to start recently with queen because I love queen and I love watching queen reaction videos. As for the direction of the channel is to watch and go where the request from subscribe take me and in a short time doing this have already taken me on a good journey of discovery. But the main thing for me is learning how to make good content , learn how to edit, find what works what don't work, and build my confidence and a presents in front of a camera and give people what they want. It's all new to me but am figuring it out slowly am in know rush to grow to quickly, am Not going anywhere and I love doing the vids. Just got to split the videos between work, and family life with me girlfriend and 2 kids. These pink Floyd videos am loving at the min. Iv never delved into them , just always thought it's old boring music but the older I get the more I seem to love and appreciate this music. In specially now i actullay am listening to new music. I always used to listen to the same stuff that i knew i liked. Thank you am hoping to take you all on my adventures with me 😊
