    So popular Timex came out with a 43 mm one! The Weekender is essentially the classic field watch design reduced to a simple, classical look. Of all the models in the Timex range, they nailed it with this build. Its a sports watch, its a dress watch and its a beater watch. Surprisingly good value for the money.

    This reminds me of the first watch that my parents bought me back in the 1970s as reward for learning how to tell the time, thanks Tomas this will be another watch added to my mostly Casio collection.

    Hi Tomas, as always another great honest review! I really appreciate how you key-in on important facts that make a watch great or on the contrary, impractical or unusable, such as you did with an unworkable crown on the Steeldive SD-1970. I had the same issues with the Timex weekender (sold it) and returned the SD1970 (wish I'd seen you review before buying it!) Anyway, I'm also enjoying these shorter reviews; I don't know if that is your intention (to make them shorter), but I prefer them to other reviewers who talk longer getting kind of off topic and then disappointingly miss important points that you are good at describing.

      @TomasWatchReviews  Před 2 lety

      thank you. To be honest, making a sort review is a bit more challenging than just let it loose and tell everything :D But yes, sometimes I make them short intentionally. Specially on a watch that everybody knows very well anyway.

    That NATO strap is just perfect and it really looks great on your wrist. Too bad it's so rude and noisy. :)
    But never mind, you still have your god-tier MQ24.

  • @americanpaisareturns9051

    It’s a really nice watch Bro. I don’t hear the ticking at all then again I live in the city. Personally I think the Timex Weekender is God Tier.

  • @WesWatchRoom

    Same here in Asia. Timex is really expensive here but Casio is just cheaper. I got my eye on the Q Timex series but they are selling it for over 200 dollars! That's some markup if you ask me!

    On to my second Black face weekender, fell in love with the simplicity and classic look, plus the ability to change out straps, my second one is not built as well and is louder! its like Timex just doesn't want to put anymore effort into the Weekender. I also think Timex charges too much.

    Nice video man, I have the same issue on a Timex Expedition I bought a while ago, it was an excellent watch in design and features but man that annoying ticking noice, specially at night, damn, I need to pull the crown for being able to sleep, that's the reason I decided to sell it.
    Now I have a Casio MW-59 and a MW-24 (in black/sunburst dial) which I absolutely love.
    The only ticking sound I feel pleasing is the mechanical one, because doesn't sound like a ticking bomb hahaha.

    It looks quite pretty but I remember in the 70s Timex were always regarded as cheap watches.... not quality. Loud ticking is just ridiculous...😣 P.S. In English we say impolite...not unpolite ...👍

    Thanks to this review, I bought the same watch. I have about 20 Casio and this is my first Timex, i love it. My girlfriend almost can hear me coming to house from the distance thanks to the ticking. (55€ Amazon Spain, August 2022). Good quality for the price. Indiglo > Illuminator.

    The ticking is Timex selling point. If it didn't tick it wouldn't be a Timex. Their slogan for 50 years has been, "They take a licking and keep on ticking."
    They are good for people who need to count off seconds without staring at the dial or screen such as medical or sports.

  • @lookatwrist

    I had one of these 4 years ago, I loved it. I wore it for a few months, but I had to get rid of it for the same reason.the Timex indiglo movements are sadly cheap. The noise, but the second hand wobble or chatter and alignment was pretty bad too.

    I have a timex weekender watch but its not that much loud as in this video and other reviews in other sites aswell, including amazon. May be its bcz what i have got is from 2016 model.. but got it in 2023.. with very low price (the price of that time). Working beautifully. But has little scratch on the back. 😅 But i am lucky to have this watch with low price and great quality. I can compromise this, for the price i paid.😊

    It’s a lovely looking watch but I had no idea it ticked so loud. I have a watch that does too and I got used to it but I do wish it did not tick.
    I have several Timex watches ana digi vintage ones and these do not tick.
    Times lately have bought out lots of nice watches reissue ones I hope that those do not tick as I am thinking to buy one of the reissue watches soon as i also like their quick battery hatch, that makes it easy to change a battery when that time comes.

    Your country puts high tariffs on the price of imported finished goods to "protect" the local manufacturers at the detriment of the consumer. Talk to your locally elected elected official.
    Tariffs are what a country does to itself in peacetime that its enemy does in war with blockades.

    • @TomasWatchReviews
      @TomasWatchReviews  Před 4 měsíci +1

      it is the whole EU thing. I have nothing against those tariffs. I see EU money being used for good every day. Have no problem with that.

    • @TheRealBrook1968
      @TheRealBrook1968 Před 4 měsíci

      @@TomasWatchReviews
      The logical conclusion of discouraging free trade thru tariffs is that EU citizens pay more for finished goods, create monopolized production in Europe with ever decreasing quality in a vacuum of competition and creates artificial scarcity of goods. The end result is that one will have less discretionary income and countries will lose wealth as time continues.
      The question is, "Does a bureaucracy know better than you how you should spend your earned income?"
