    I bought a Bauhn TV from Aldi about 6 years ago. Admittedly it's not a smart TV but it is 12v and has a built in dvd.

    We bought a 19" Cello with DVD player fir £125. Dont need high tech in caravan so it's ok for us

      I did the same. I can also plug in a usb stick to watch saved films and could even cast CZcams/iPlayer/Netflix etc to it via my phone if I wanted to.
      And I can push 231 on the remote and go straight to the news channel without fiddling with program guides.

    I have a 12volt t.v. that will do what yours is doing for a fraction of the price and buy adding a firestick will do everything.

      Can you please let us know the brand and model? Is it 12v/240v; dvd player, smart tv with sat built-in?

    We have had a Falcon Technology TV for 6 years, absolutely brilliant. We also have their Satnav and review camera. Excellent customer service.👍😎

    Thanks Don for another very informative vid. I was lucky - the previous owners had an Avtek TV and booster fitted...great image quality even in the middle of no where😊

    We purchased one at the show today and took the free sound bar promotion. We upgraded from a Cello which has been a great TV however recently changed the caravan to a Messina and needed slightly wider viewing angle which the Falcon offered.
    Thanks for the review Dan, I was heading for an Avtex but more than happy with the Falcon.

    Hi Dan, thanks for your reviews of both this tv & the Falcon 4G router I’m now £500ish lighter in my pocket, saw them at the Caravan & Motorhome show & couldn’t resist, first test today in caravan & it all works well, now trying the router indoors & thats also working well, although only on strength 2 because it’s set up inside. Very pleased with both products.

    Why work in secret? Appreciate this is paid content but not really balanced on price and specification if you do a bit of research.

    Nice looking tv, have to say that Cello, Sharp, Sniper and Sylvia all do a 12v smart tv with built in DVD player (similar prices) so I guess it all comes down to what personal preferences. The free gift at the NEC could be a deal breaker for some.

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Ah, do check the details, they’re not smart TVs with Sat built in. If I’m wrong - my apologies, but I did have a good hunt about. 👍
      Take care
      Dan.

    What's is a DVD? Is it vhs or beta max? How old are we all? Most now Down load or stream. Or fire stick. Think Falcon are slow to the market Use a comp screen for £50. THANKS Mr T

    We have a 12v TV. Have to be honest, it's more Allys thing than mine .. looking at that, a show offer offer of just over £300 with a sound bar or other free gift is a canny bargain. I do like a TV that doesn't look like is should be in an open air theatre. Be interested in an off grid update for it's power use just on the leisure battery 👍👍

      @Stramash. Před 10 měsíci +1

      I noticed that the label on the back of the TV (4:30) shows 3 Amps at 12V so about 36W. Very slightly more than my non-smart 24" Avtex but very acceptable.

  • @WanderingWilkos
    @WanderingWilkos Před 10 měsíci +1

    Looks exactly the same as the avtex. The latest avtex is smart and has dvd too. Not that anyone uses dvds anymore most people just stream everything.

      We use DVDs in the caravan because we don't have money to burn and have a massive DVD library at home!

    Got a brand new white 19" TV from Bargain Crazy (Stanley DH9 branch they sell end-of-line items from Argos) for £79 which has a DVD player. Added a £3 wifi dongle (which then gives BBC iPlayer , ITV hub , Channel 5 hub etc on it) and the numbered buttons on the remote can be used for the numbered TV channels.
    For a caravan it is more than good enough Now its the end of the season have removed the 2 AAA batteries from the remote.

    • @M..R....
      @M..R.... Před 10 měsíci +1

      No we only use 230v in the caravan

      So your suggested tv is NOT a direct comparison. Your comment was pretty unhelpful.

    • @M..R....
      @M..R.... Před 10 měsíci +1

      On the other hand helpful if you just want a 230v telly like most people 😅

    • @M..R....
      @M..R.... Před 10 měsíci +1

      @josemauricej.ffarquarharso4871 apologies...said it was a 19" but after checking it's a 24," full HD smart TV....not bad for £79. Not sure if you can view it from virtually the side as we normally sit in front of it so maybe not as good in that respect. Re the 12v...get a cheap invertor to enable 12v as well as keeping the cost way under the 12v TV which granted some people will use but not many vs 230v

    • @M..R....
      @M..R.... Před 10 měsíci +1

      @josemauricej.ffarquarharso4871 have you asked ALL of the other responses if their TVs are also 12v as it doesn't look like you have just incase in your opinion they are "unhelpful" too? Don't forget to ask them how much they paid and the specs so you can make a direct comparison before letting us all know how helpful or unhelpful they are in your opinion

    How does picture quality compare ro Avtex? We have an Avtex and I find the colours a bit washed out and the LCD panel is slow to react so movement looks so blurred! Not impressed at Avtex for the price! Hope these are better? Price?

    last time i followed your link which was the 12 volt cello tv,i bought one from your link which for some reason was wrong and i recieved the 230v version,so the lesson is always check all the details before buying and as it turned out it was rubbish and had to have a soundbar to make it sound ok,it soon packed up and went in the landfill

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  Před 9 měsíci

      Don’t think I’ve ever linked to a Cello TV, if you can find the link again, I will certainly correct that mistake. 👍

    £300 for a 19” tv. That is expensive. There is a lot better price tvs out there for less than £200

    Probably a daft question 🫣 but do these tv’s connect to your phone as a hotspot to stream Netflix etc. at the moment we use an hdmi to iPhone connection which works fine but it is a faff
