    To the people saying 'thin people can do/feel xxx too'... I hear you and would like to gently ask you to consider that no-one is actually saying thin people can't (this is coming from someone in a small/thin body). The issue is that a lot of the time society says FAT PEOPLE CAN'T. Which is BS. Fatphobia is rampant in society and negatively impacts the mental and physical health of ALL fat people - people in smaller bodies are not on the whole subjected to this (and acknowledging this does not take away from your own experiences!). In the same way that we support BLM and not 'all lives matter', we need to support and uplift the people who are systemically oppressed first to fight for not just equality but equity.

      It’s the same when Jazz was griping about race and then turning around and saying it IS about race. Honey, you are proving people’s point. It’s not all about race and you need to STOP assuming that everyone is automatically making comments about your race(btw, so convenient to not mention the white side of the family like all the other idiotic people who gripe about black people being oppressed but then they don’t give credit to the white side of the family caring for them when the black side of the family abandons them, etc.). I’m tired of being bombarded with omg being black is is being oppressed all the damn time or how every white person is racists. Like no you are not. You are only holding yourselves back by living up to stereotypes, playing the victim card, etc. If we truly want to get rid of racism then the black community needs to ALSO stop playing victim, stop seeing color(which they do whether they want to admit to), stop using their race to get ahead, stop assuming that everyone is out to get them, stop calling people Karens or crackers because that is offensive too, stop calling black Americans who refuse to use their race as a crutch or blame the white man for everything Uncle Toms, etc. And if there are people who look at my post and call me a bigot or racist just proved my point. I could give two shits what color you(my brother-in-law is black and I love him) are but I AM getting tired of being attacked because of MY skin color which is white. Martin Luther King Jr. said to judge people by their content and not the color of their skin but most black Americans WANT to be judged by their skin color and want to be segregated by having their own schools, own t.v networks, own holidays, own National Anthems, etc. Do you not see the idiocy and the stupidity that you are doing to yourselves? I wasn’t trying to be off subject but it goes hand in hand with what you are saying about skinny people. We shouldn’t be so rude to skinny people just because they are skinny just as the same we shouldn’t be offensive towards fat people(if they are a healthy kind of fat). If you are extremely overweight then you need some serious help and shouldn’t take offense when people tell you the truth because that is not healthy to be that fat. Period.

    I think they’re missing a lot of proportion and texture details. The looks on the models are expertly curated… some of these dupes aren’t as nice because the quality isn’t as nice. That’s why they say they didn’t understand what was so cool about it.

    Dismissing a models outfit by calling it fat phobic because they don’t put any effort, “they just wear clothes”, they “use their stomach as an accessory” diminishes the work they put into their bodies. They may be “off-duty” but that doesn’t mean they aren’t trying. It’s literally their job to look this way in these clothes.

    • @steam_jane5580
      @steam_jane5580 Před rokem +1

      I'm not speaking about them or commenting on what I might think about their habits or their weight, but generally, I think it's a mix of genetics (metabolism, lymphoma etc) coupled with poor dietary choices(overeating or too much unhealthy high calorie often sugary or salty foods etc) and not being active enough to support that diet ( they should not exercise like crazy if their diet is too hard to support while having a varied life they probably want to have and its more about diet changes ).
      It can be part of an eating disorder like binge eating.
      Not all obese people are aware of their habits or know where to start or where to go in making a change e.g what they try hasn't worked or they don't know what will work so haven't tried or don't care at all about their health and would for example rather just overeat on foods and get a serotonin hit (I remember a UK tv documentary where a doctor ate I think nothing but junk food for a pirod of time and saw howhis brain connection changed and he wanted more). It could be a cycle that they find hard to break e.g bad body image, loose weight, no long-term plan and gain it or some of It back and perhaps more as well or flip-flop extremes in habit.
      I live in the UK, but I know groceries are much more expensive than fast food or snacks and sweets in the USA, so it can be hard or unrealistic to make healthy choices, not that they don't have a part to play in their choices, especially depending on circumstances.
      Sorry, this is so long. I hope this makes sense, but I am no expert so feel free to correct me
      Edit; For a small few it is hard as they make money off of this or are told by certain communities not to protect their health by making changes as it's bad or 'fat-phobic'' (but probably only a small corner of the web).

    Model off-duty looks have nothing to do with the size of your body. Models do tend to be thin but the model off-duty look isn’t only for thin people, nor are they “not supposed to be worn by plus size people”. It’s gross how these women are making that up and asserting it to viewers. Since when was “jeans and a top” labeled for “thin white women” only? Yuck yuck.
    When a thin person who ISNT a model wears jeans and a top, they aren’t “going to be in paparazzi photos”. It has NOTHING to do with body size - they’re “in photos wearing model off-duty” because they’re models.
    YOURE the ones spreading the idea that plus sized people aren’t supposed to wear these looks. I’ve never ever heard this before watching this video.

      @djcarteataggies3428 Před 3 lety +5

      Yeah it’s kinda weird that they express and push a narrative about the “skinny” agenda being the problem. It’s almost like they’re body shaming “skinny/fit” people when in fact most fit people have to WORK out to obtain and maintain that look. Seems like they’re projecting their own insecurities onto others in an attempt to find/create a safe space where more like minded individuals can feel secure. Reminds me of how Monique used to refer to “thinner” women as “skinny bitches” but then turns around and becomes one. I was over 150 pounds in elementary school and that personally was enough for me to say f being unhealthy and looking like this, but I would never blame it on someone else let alone a whole community. I’m very in shape now and I literally weigh 205 pounds, it just happens to be mostly muscle. Medically speaking I’m technically considered to be obese based off of my height and weight. So I really don’t think that this is a fat/skinny issue and more of a healthy/unhealthy issue. 🤷🏾‍♂️
